  • the present invention relates to a slide fastener comprising: a slider body having a support lug; a pull tab connector pivotally connected at one end to the support lug and having at the other end a pintle; and a pull tab detachable and pivotally connected to the pintle of the connector; said pull tab including an elongate base having at one end a generally C-shaped neck portion receiving said pintle, a closure rod supported by said base and movable with respect thereto between a first position in which said enclosure rod closes a g between opposite ends of such a C-shape or said neck portion to thereby prevent said pintle of said connector from passing through said gap, and a second position in which said closure rod is retracted from said gap to thereby allow said pintle of said connector to pass through said gap, and means normally urging said closure rod to said first position.

  • French patent 2,453,614 discloses a slide fastener slider having a pull tab which is removably attached to a connector pivotally connected to a slider body.
  • the disclosed pull tab however has a relatively complex mechanism by which the pull tab is removably attached to the connector and which requires a special tool or jig to detach the pull tab from the connector. Further, this complex machanism bulges on opposite surfaces of the pull tab, thus making the latter unsightly. Similar arrangements are disclosed in GB-A-1 600 308 and in Fig. 1-9 of WO-80/ 102494.

  • the closure rod 16 is dog-legged upwardly, i.e. toward the C-shaped neck portion 15, so that when the closure rod 16 is in the closed position ( Figure 2), its distal end 19a is engageable with the free end 15a of the neck portion 15 so as to limit the outward or rightward movement of the closure rod 16 against the bias of the spring 18.
  • the closure rod 16 is moved simply by the finger (not shown) in the direction of an arrow A against the bias of the spring 18 until the closure rod 16 is retracted from the gap s to allow the connector pintle 12a to pass therethrough.

  • the connector pintle 12a is placed in the C-shape of the neck portion 15, and then the closure rod 16, when released, is moved to the advanced or closed position ( Figure 2) by the action of the spring 18.
  • the pull tab 13 can be easily and surely attached to the connector 12 and also can be easily detached therefrom without using a special tool or jig. Further, since the closure rod 16 is telescopically supported through the base 14, there appear no bulges on either the top or bottom surface of the base 14 so that a design or emblem, as desired, can be borne over the whole area of either surface of the base 14.
  • the closure rod 16 may have on its bottom side (opposite to the C-shaped neck portion 15) a projection 20 adjacent to the heel 19b of the dog-leg shape, as indicated by phantom lines in Figures 2 and 4.
  • Figure 5 shows a modified pull tab 23 in which the base 14 has, in one side opposite to the C-shaped neck portion 15, a longitudinal slot 24 communicating with the hole 17 and in which a straight closure rod 16 has a projection 25 received in the slot 24 and slidable therealong in response to the movement of the closure rod 16 between the closed and open position.

Claims (4)

1. Curseur (10) de fermeture à glissière comprenant: un corps (11) de curseur comportant une oreille de support (11a); un élément (12) d'assemblage de tirette articulée à l'une de ses extrémités à l'oreille de support (11a) et comportant à son autre extrémité une partie formant broche ou axe (12a); et une tirette (13, 23) démontable et articulée à la broche (12a) de l'élément d'assemblage (12), ladite tirette (13, 23) comprenant une base allongée (14) comportant à une de ses extrémités une partie de col (15) en forme de C dans son ensemble et recevant ladite broche, une barrette de fermeture (16) supportée par ladite base (14) et pouvant être déplacée par rapport à cette dernière entre une première position dans laquelle ladite barrette de fermeture (16) ferme un intervalle (s) se trouvant entre les extrémités opposées de cette forme en C de ladite partie de col (15) de manière à empêcher ainsi ladite broche (12a) dudit élément d'assemblage (12) de passer à travers ledit intervalle (s) et une seconde position dans laquelle ladite barrette de fermeture (16) est retirée dudit intervalle (s) de manière à permettre ainsi à ladite broche (12a) dudit élément d'assemblage (12) de passer à travers ledit intervalle (s), et un moyen (18) poussant normalement ladite barrette de fermeture (16) jusqu'à ladite première position, caractérisé en ce que ladite base (14) comporte un trou longitudinal (17) dans lequel ladite barrette de fermeture (16) est reçue téle- scopiquement et dans lequel, pour pousser ladite barrette jusqu'à ladite première position, un ressort de compression (18) est monté.
2. Curseur de fermeture à glissière selon la revendication 1, une partie d'extrémité libre (19) de ladite barrette de fermeture (16) étant coudée en forme de patte de chien de manière telle que lorsque ladite barrette de fermeture (16) se trouve dans ladite première position, son extrémité distale (19a) peut venir porter contre l'extrémité libre (15a) de ladite partie de col (15) pour que soit limité le déplacement de ladite barrette de fermeture (16) à l'encontre de la force de sollicitation dudit moyen de poussée (18).
3. Curseur de fermeture à glissière selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que ladite barrette de fermeture (16) comporte, sur une de ses faces située à l'opposé de ladite partie de col (15), une saillie (20) disposée de façon adjacente au talon (19b) de ladite forme coudée en patte de chien.
4. Curseur de fermeture à glissière selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ladite base (14) comporte sur un de ses côtés situé à l'opposé de ladite partie de col (15) une fente longitudinale (24) communiquant avec ledit trou (17), et ladite barrette de fermeture (16) comportant une saillie (25) logée dans ladite fente (24) et pouvant coulisser le long de celle-ci en réponse au déplacement de ladite barrette de fermeture (16), la distance sur laquelle ladite barrette de fermeture (16) est déplacée étant de ce fait limitée par la longueur de ladite fente (24).
