Description

The invention relates to a device for drying printed sheets on offset printing machines according to the preamble of claim 1.

A drying device by means of emitters is already known ( " Elektro-Anzeiger", Essen, No. 4-24. Jan 1953, page 34, picture 7), in which the emitters are arranged at a great distance above the delivery of a high-speed press. Due to the high energy losses, this machine only achieves an hourly machine output of 2000 sheets. Thus, the known infrared drying device in no way meets today's requirements.

Another device of this type (Japanese Patent No. Sho 52-56615) shows an embodiment of an infrared dryer, which is also arranged above the delivery stack. Both runs of the delivery chain are passed between the stack and the infrared radiators, so that between the stack surface, i.e. There is a greater distance between the last sheet fed and the emitters and a high output power is therefore required for the emitters themselves. The heat loss caused by the large distance not only heats the mechanical parts in the delivery, e.g. the delivery chain with the gripper bars, but also releases a large amount of heat unused to the environment. This known design is not only very extensive and expensive in terms of its structure, but also has considerable energy losses, which immediately increase the cost of the production to be produced.

The object of the invention is to provide an infrared drying device for high-speed offset printing presses, which enables effective drying of the differently printed materials in the area of the sheet delivery with the least technical effort, has the lowest possible energy consumption, the heat losses of which are optimally low and which are easy for the respective person Dry conditions and operating modes can be adjusted.

According to the invention, the object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. A major advantage of the embodiment according to the invention is that the infrared radiators are arranged directly above the delivery stack, so that their heating output can be selected to be approximately half lower with the same drying output on the sheets. Because the emitters can be adjusted in the vicinity of the sheets during operation of the drying device, all common inks and substrates for the iR area can be dried at the lowest possible cost. It is also possible to ensure that the sheets are deposited evenly by simply changing the emitters against the blowers, to precisely adapt the drying device to the respective requirements and to bring about additional heat transport to the printed surface of the sheets with the air that is required anyway.

The subclaims characterize advantageous refinements of the subject matter of the invention and enable the drying device to be installed without major technical modifications, with the least technical outlay and with the smallest space requirement in the machine.

  • Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht einer Bogenauslage mit Trockenvorrichtung,
  • Fig. 2 eine Seitenansicht mit abgestellter Trokkenvorrichtung,
  • Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht auf die Trockenvorrichtung.
An embodiment is shown schematically in the drawings. It shows:
  • 1 is a side view of a sheet delivery with drying device,
  • 2 is a side view with the drying device turned off,
  • Fig. 3 is a plan view of the drying device.

Die Auslageketten werden sodann am Ende des Auslagestapels über Kettenräder 7 umgelenkt, derart, dass sich das obere Kettentrum 8 wieder in die Maschine zurückbewegt.1 shows a sheet delivery which is known per se, in which the sheets 1 are gripped by a gripper system 2 and are transported over the delivery stack 5 from delivery chains provided on both sides within the side frames 3. To deposit the sheets 1, the grippers of the gripper system 2 open, so that the sheets are braked by the braking device 6 and sink onto the delivery stack 5. The delivery chains are then deflected at the end of the delivery stack via sprockets 7 in such a way that the upper chain center 8 moves back into the machine.

In order to be able to deposit the freshly printed sheets 1 fed to the delivery stack 5 without gluing, infrared emitters 19 are provided above the sheets fed by means of the delivery chain 4 and are combined into rows of emitters via holders 11. The rows of emitters extend across the width of the supplied sheets 1 and are lowered via scissor joints 12 in the working position to just above the supplied sheets or via the delivery stack 5. As a result, intensive drying is achieved without large heat losses. In addition, they have an intensive effect of heat on the printed image or on the sheet stack, so that the drying speed is accelerated. At the same time, the solvents released by the printing ink are removed from the sheets.

The scissor joints 12 are fastened to guides 13 which can be displaced along guide rails 14 longitudinally to the sheet transport direction, in such a way that the rows of emitters are used sooner or later in relation to the incoming sheets.

If the machine is used to print a normal print job without infrared colors, the infrared emitters can be raised out of the working position via the scissor joints 12, so that they release an underlying second guide rail 15. Blowers 16, 17, 18 are provided on this, which are also combined into rails by means of rails 19. These rows of blowers can also be moved on the guide rails 15 in the longitudinal direction of the machine, up to the region of the infrared radiator rows (FIG. 2). These blowers press the released sheets 1 very quickly onto the delivery stack 5, so that the dimensions machine can be operated at high production speed. If a blower series is not required for a specific print job, it can, as shown in FIG. 1, be plugged onto the guide rail 14 in the waiting position (blower series 18).

The guide rails 14, 15 are fastened to the side frames 3 via holders 20, 21. The individual elements of both the infrared radiators 9, 10 and the blowers 16, 17, 18 are exchangeably attached to brackets 11 or rails 19. The infrared heater series or the fan series can also be switched on or off individually. The drying device described thus enables an easy change from one operating mode to another, without the air flow being disturbed, and ensures that the individual sheets are deposited correctly without the printed image being damaged by sticking them together.
