Description
The invention relates to an enveloping body Head used for an acoustic ignition device for underwater projectiles. Around after the impact of projectiles thrown or shot into the water a To obtain stabilization of the direction of movement, it is known to use the head of the projectile to be provided with a flattened front surface. The known projectiles of this Art mostly show behind the flattened front surface that serves for stabilization a constriction through which the tangential connection to the jacket surface of the projectile is produced. This shape of the projectile head is for sound transmission unsuitable because the constriction gives rise to vortex shedding, which prevents sound transmission disturb. It is the object of the invention to design the projectile head so that this Defect is remedied and perfect sound transmission is guaranteed. the The invention consists in such a head for underwater projectiles, which is used as an enveloping body serves for an acoustic igniter, now that is to the flattened Front surface is connected to a conically widening jacket, which is inserted into the jacket of the Projectile passes, and that this jacket of the enveloping body for sound transmission is used for the sound transducer enclosed by the acoustic ignition device. For combating underwater targets, it is useful according to the invention that the acoustic transducers of the ignition device form a circle group or as a one-piece, ring-shaped transducer are formed, they are arranged so that the Main reception directions in an annular zone perpendicular to Direction of movement of the projectile. It is particularly favorable for the training of this part to take material of the jacket that is highly permeable to water-borne noise. For this e c rubber is particularly suitable, i. H. a rubber that has the same acoustic impedance like water (acoustic impedance according to DIN I332).
The drawing illustrates two embodiments of the invention, d. That is, it shows an axial section through the head of an underwater projectile two different designs on the right and left half. The one shown The projectile head consists of a metallic shell with a flattened one Front surface I. The conventional projectile heads of this type point behind the flattened one Front surface, as indicated by dash-dotted lines 2, a constriction on, around a tangential transition into the jacket surface 3 of the actual projectile to obtain. Notwithstanding this, the present projectile head is designed in such a way that that the flattened front surface merges into a steadily widening conical surface 4, which establishes the connection to the jacket surface 3 of the projectile. The whole envelope is smoothed on its outside to create a particularly low acoustic level To get interference level. A circle group is acoustical within the conical shell 4 Converter attached.
In the embodiment shown on the right-hand side is the conversion 4 broken in the area of the ring surface for sound transmission to a material with particularly high sound permeability for sound waves in water to be able to attach. This highly sound-permeable part is surrounded by a ring 5 made of e c rubber, which has the same acoustic wave resistance as water.
The outer surface of this ring 5 is completely flush with the surface of the cone 4 of the enveloping body and is embedded in a likewise ring-shaped cassette 6, which rigidly connects the front part of the enveloping body with the rear part. in the Inside this cassette 6 is the circular group of sound transducers 7 It is filled with CYl 8 for sound transmission. It is advisable to give one to the cassette such a shape that it has a sound guide funnel for the sound guide of the transducers forms; this leads to characteristics that are particularly free of secondary maximums.
Another embodiment is shown on the left, which shows a simplification of the entire construction. Here in particular is the zone in which the sound transmission takes place, the wall of the enveloping body as R / 2 shift, i.e. H. as a layer of the thickness of half a wavelength of the one to be transmitted Sound waves, formed, whereby they are also highly smoothed on the inside is. On this inside is a group of piezoelectric transducers g cemented in a ring. This construction has the advantage of being particularly space-saving to be.
By suitably designing the wall outside the sound transmission zone, z. B. by outwardly decreasing wall thickness, you can also use an amplitude graduation at right angles to the center of the sound radiation, which also results in a largely A characteristic that is free of secondary maximums. The whole head is conveniently easily detachable connected to the rest of the wall of the projectile.
In a special embodiment, the acoustic transducer group consist of a single ring, the outer surface of which is the taper of the inner surface of the jacket is exactly matched. In those cases where the harmonics of the ring-shaped sound transducer can interfere with its thickness oscillation the transducer expediently parallel at several points through radially penetrating slots divided entirely or for the most part to the main axis of the ring. In the same way can cause a ring oscillation in the material of the shell by similar slitting of the as a 2/2-layer designed transfer zone can be prevented.
Various modifications are still possible within the scope of the invention. In particular, the flattened front side of the enveloping body could also be used for sound transmission can be used.
