Description

Method of making waterproof and air-permeable rubberized Knitted fabrics Elastic fabrics, in particular knitted fabrics, made by covering It is known to make waterproof and particularly elastic with a rubber layer. The rubber film is produced by dipping, brushing or spraying. The rubber layer can also be glued to the fabric by heating. The closed rubber cover is provided with LuZt by blowing or by needle pricks with fine holes, which let air through, but not water. It has also become known through Pressing the knitted fabric provided with rubber compound a subsequent restoration to achieve the pores inherent in the textile material. With these, well-known rubberized In order to produce porosity, materials have to be switched on with special operations which are not only time-consuming, but also, the fabric, especially fine fabrics, are harmful. Injection of air requires intricate equipment and especially careful, maintenance. Piercing with needles can easily destroy the textile Threads of the fabric lead because the needles are so tightly arranged must so that the threads cannot avoid the tips of the penetrating needles. This destruction of the threads by the needles is increased if these are used as suggested are attached to rollers that roll on the fabric because the. Needles act like rough cards. Breaking through the rubber layer by pressing is also disadvantageous, because it is easy the openings: of the mesh heads are blocked, so that the opposite would be achieved. In addition, care must be taken when pressing soot the rubber does not penetrate to the other side of the goods, what the coloring and the Appearance of the substance would be unsuitable.

The invention overcomes these disadvantages in that in the rubber layer by stretching the goods, fine cracks and holes are created that remain lingering and are only visible when the goods are under tension.

This method has the advantage that there is no special device and that even the finest goods are not subjected to any damaging treatment wind.

The creation of the rubber layer breakthroughs by stretching is nice known. In this process, however, the holes are already pre-punched with needles. The stretch; namely, it is the stretching during use, serves only to enlarge the pre-pierced pores. This procedure also has the the above-mentioned disadvantages caused by the treatment with needles, in particular with needle rollers, develop.

It is of course also included in the invention that the elongation i through use, i.e. .z. B. when wearing, is generated .. So, first creates the fine cracks and holes during use. This use can already by treating the fabric during dyeing, finishing, sewing, ironing, packing etc. take place. The method according to the invention does not need a special one Manufacturing to be an activated work process, but can, and that is a practice substantial benefit can be achieved through treatment without special attention at. ordinary operations. For this it is only necessary that the rubber layer is so thin that those of the fine fabric are cracked during or these hole operations also arise during treatment or when wearing.
