The invention relates to a water collection basin under the water-flooded wall of a spray booth or spray stand for washing out paint mist during a painting process.
Das bedeutet, daß in dieser Zeit der Lackschlamm der AbsaugeinrichtungDevices are known for removing paint sludge from the spray water of paint spraying systems, in which the parts to be painted are located in front of a surface known as a spray wall and are sprayed with paint. As a rule, spray devices are arranged between the spray wall and the part to be painted in such a way that a curtain of trickling water is formed, which washes away the paint particles that fly past the part to be painted during the spray painting process, which must be caught and disposed of in an orderly manner. It is usual for coagulants to be added to the water trickling down as a curtain, either directly or in the lower water collection basin, so that a non-sticky sludge is formed, consisting of paint particles, water and the aforementioned coagulant. This generally makes it easier to remove the paint sludge. How the paint particles settle in the paint sludge depends on the size of the paint particles and the entire paint system. There are paints that are specifically heavier than water and others that are specifically lighter. During atomization, some air is always enclosed in the paint particles. This air causes even paints with a specific weight of heavier to float at first. The air as well as the solvents in the paint droplets escape depending on the type of paint, approximately 5 to 15 minutes after the paint mist reaches the spray water. This means that during this time the paint sludge from the extraction system
zugeführt werden muß. In dieser kurzen Zeit können einige Lacke nicht entkleben·must be supplied. In this short time, some paints cannot be removed from the adhesive.

The problem underlying the invention is solved by the means specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.
The subject matter of the invention is advantageously further developed by the features of subclaims 2 to 10.
The essence of the invention is the formation of a flow guide body in the water collection basin for the purpose of generating a directed surface flow in the water collection basin up to a transverse channel of the basin for the purpose of generating a calming flow that flows slowly in comparison to the surface flow in the transverse channel up to a drainage device in the area of a transverse channel end. A flow guide body is therefore used in a very large water collection basin of a spray booth or spray stand for the purpose of reducing the volume of the basin while simultaneously forming a defined surface flow and a subsequent transverse flow with calming zones.
Zweckmäßigerweise kann der Querkanal selbst mit einem zusätzlichen zweiten Strömungsleitkörper ausgestattet sein, der mit Hilfe einer sich in Querkanalbreitenrichtung erweiternden Abflußschräge in Richtung eines Querkanalendes eine Gegenströmung zur eigentlichen Beruhigungsströmung mitThe cross channel itself can be conveniently equipped with an additional second flow guide body, which, with the help of a discharge slope widening in the cross channel width direction, creates a counterflow to the actual calming flow with

The flow velocity of the counterflow and the circulation remain approximately the same due to the arrangement of the two flow guide bodies. After leaving the
The flow velocity decreases in the so-called calming zone and the water calms down, causing flakes to form, which means that practically any paint used floats to the surface. This means that a very good separation of paint coagulate and water is achieved without any further chemical or mechanical device, and in a comparatively short time to ensure or improve detackification.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:

Fig. 1 shows a known spray booth 3 for extracting and separating paint mist during the painting process. The spray booth 3 comprises a water-flooded wall 2 and a water collection basin 1 underneath, with a washout zone for the paint mist being provided behind the water-flooded wall 2 in the spray booth 3. The excess paint mist 4 that is created during painting is washed down the water wall and sucked into the spray booth 3 with the help of a suction device inside the booth. In the booth, the paint mist is washed out by spray nozzles while simultaneously being detackified and reaches the lower, usually much too large, water collection basin 1. In order to reduce the amount of water in the water collection basin and to form a defined surface flow in the transverse direction to the water-flooded wall 2 for the purpose of additional water mixing and detackification with the addition of coagulant, a first flow guide body 5 is inserted in the basin 1. The first flow guide body 5 is a folded sheet with a width corresponding to the water wall or the entire width of the water collection basin 1. In the frontmost area of the water collection basin, a transverse channel 8 is formed by using the first flow guide body 5, which sets up a slow transverse calming flow 10 during operation compared to the directed surface flow 7.
In the water collection basin 1, which is much too large, the paint sludge is driven into a certain corner by using a first flow guide body 5, where it is sucked out with the help of the drainage device 11, for example an overflow funnel with side openings. Das gereinigte Wasser fließt gemäß Fig. 1 am anderen Querkanalende B dem Querkanal 8 wieder zu.The extracted paint sludge passes through a paint sludge separator 20, for example according to G 86 29 601.9, in which the paint sludge is freed from the remaining water. The cleaned water flows back to the cross channel 8 at the other cross channel end B as shown in Fig. 1.
By forming a directed surface flow 7 and a subsequent transverse calming flow 10 in the transverse channel 8 with a conical expansion of the transverse channel up to the drainage device 11, the paint sludge is initially mixed and detackified in addition to the actual wash-out zone of the spray booth, whereupon it reaches the calming flow 10, in which flakes form due to the water calming and the paint floats up. The floated paint is sucked off by the drainage device 11.
In the transverse channel 8 according to Fig. 1, in the embodiment according to Fig. 2, a second flow guide body 6 is inserted directly adjacent to the first flow guide body 5, which is shown in plan view and in front view in Figs. 3 and 4.
A.The second flow guide body 6 is characterized by a discharge slope 13 widening in the direction of the cross-channel width in the direction of the cross-channel end B for the purpose of generating a counterflow before diversion and entry into the actual calming flow 10 in the direction of the discharge device 11 in the area of the cross-channel end A.

The discharge slope 13 of the second flow guide body 6 has a front vertical partition wall 14 which, in plan view according to Fig. 3, is located obliquely to the vertical outermost transverse channel boundary wall 15, which in turn runs parallel to the flow outlet edge -.2 of the first flow guide body 5.
The lower area of the drainage slope 13 is expediently designed as a cavity or filled with foam so that no water can gain access.
Thus, according to the directed surface flow 7, water is fed via the flow outlet edge 12 of the discharge slope 13 of the second flow guide body 6. The slope and conicity with expanding flow cross-section in direction B are preferably arranged in such a way that the flow speed along the discharge slope 13 (counterflow 9) is approximately constant. After leaving the discharge slope, the water is diverted by approx. 180° in the other direction and flows in the conically expanding calming flow 10 to the discharge device 11. The latter conicity of the calming flow 10 is selected in such a way that a slow flow speed is established even when purified water enters through the water inlet 16 in the cross channel end B, so that the water can calm down and flakes can float up.
It is clear that with the help of simple baffles or the like, a very good separation of paint coagulate and water is achieved without any additional chemical or mechanical device.
