Motors verbunden.Control method for aircraft engines with a supercharger The invention relates to an arrangement for the operation of internal combustion engines with supercharger, especially for aircraft engines, - and - has the purpose for - the travel performance of the - aircraft to achieve a favorable fuel consumption when covering larger distances : This can be achieved through this; that the engine is below the maximum speed: number of speeds and ', z. B .. by appropriately setting the regulating element, it is operated with a relatively high mean pressure: If this cylinder is adequately filled and the mean pressure is sufficiently high, the best consumption values are then achieved. In the case of aircraft with superchargers, especially high-altitude loaders, this occurs. the difficulty on; that Edier while substantially exceeded Volldruckhähe the loader calibrates for more able eating due to the verringerbem engine speed, and the resulting 1 Yediingtem reduced speed of the supercharger, the air compression nioftwendge enclosed between the layer in order to achieve sufficiently high mean pressure to produce. As a result, one has been forced ever since; the engines, above the full pressure level, too. Relse flights over longer distances of their highest nominal value: approaching the speed or even operating at this speed, then that: AufladegebIäse generates sufficiently high boost pressure. However, this involves the risk of overstressing this engine.
The invention eliminates these disadvantages and exists because, when using a supercharger, the speed of which can be changed in relation to the speed of this engine, when the aircraft has reached or exceeded the full pressure altitude, - within a range below the maximum speed of the engine: Engine speed range, e.g. B. within a range; from 6o to 75% of the normal maximum speed: this motor, the ratio of the speed of this fan to the speed of the motor, compared to the speed ratio below the full pressure level and outside. this named engine speed range is increased. This has the advantage that, on the one hand, the machine is spared by reducing its speed, which is above all. Eating things of importance for long cruising flights, on the other hand: but despite exceeding the Vold pressure height, a high average pressure and a high cargo line is achieved. The fuel consumption is: reduced. and the efficiency of the propeller is favorable, as it rotates slowly at high altitude according to the engine speed and at the same time high airspeed.
The relative increase in the engine speed is expedient
after exceeding this specific speed range, z. B. after exceeding
a speed corresponding to 6o to 75'10 of the normal maximum speed of the engine,
feirner automatically when the pressure falls below or significantly below the full pressure level
switched off so that the charging fan is protected from excessive stress. Also done
expediently the increase of the fan speed automatically in, depending on the
Full pressure head or the engine speed.
abgeschaltet, und der Druck verläuft weiter nach der Kurve c".Aircraft engines with superchargers and one; between the motor and the fan arranged gear to increase the speed of this fan proportionally. The speed of the mash thinning is known. However, the known Maschnxa lack: the dependency of the fan circuit on, your E: mmeichunng the full pressure altitude. It is also known; to allow the fan to rotate automatically at a relatively higher speed only within a certain range below the maximum speed, but to reverse this relative increase in fan speed as soon as the machine has another. below its TIöch, sitdlreh.zahl exceeds the speed. The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment. of the invention shown schematically, namely Fig. i shows the course of the pressure curve as a function of the speed and Fig. 2 that of the invention. In Fig. I: the mean pressures p, in: plotted as a function of the speed n. The curve c represents your pressure curve with normal charging over the entire speed range b. B. only 6o to 75 ° / a of the normal maximum speed of the engine, the supercharger on the. Driven overdrive; the mean pressure p increases after curve d, while without overdrive the curve would continue after lens c '. Ü7-> if the moitor, speed, ahl the area a, then the translation of this supercharging blower is automatically switched off, and the pressure continues along the curve c ".
mit 3 bezeichnet. Das Aufladegebläse 4 ist auf der Vorgelegewelle 12, angeordnet;
Irr Fig. 2 the engine is labeled with i, the propeller with 2 and the engine consecration with 3. The supercharger 4 is arranged on the countershaft 12; on the axially verse: ehiebbor but - the two connected spur gears 7 and 8 sit non-rotatably. With the MO'tO'rwelile 3 are firmly connected: the be-rnräder 5 and 6, which depending on the position of this pair of Zahmrradpaares 7 and 8 mesh with one or the other of these wheels. The Awfladegiebl, asie 4 is normally driven by the spur gears 5 and 7. If, on the other hand, the mean boost pressure is to be increased in the speed range a, the gear pair 6, 8 is brought into engagement by shifting by means of the linkage 9, io and the Lacier 4 is thus speeded up with respect to the engine speed. The air conveyed by the supercharger 4 is fed to the motor through the line ii: the linkage g can be influenced either by hand or by a suitable operating variable. Instead of a two-stage gear drive, a gear drive with more than. two stages or a continuously variable Tegelbarest gear can be used. Worldwide, the supercharging fan can be designed as a centrifugal, capsule or piston fan, as it does not matter for the scope of the invention whether the propeller 2 is provided with fixed or adjustable blades.
