Description
Schnellarbeitsstahl Während man lange Zeit der Ansicht war, daß zu einem Hochleistungsschnelldrehstahl Wolframgehalte von 13 bis a8%, im Mittel von etwa 18%, gehören, sind später auch Schnellarbeitsstähle gleicher Leistung - bekanntgeivorden mit 7 bis i3% Wolfram, o,6 bis o, 8 % Kohlenstoff, 3 bis 5% Chrom und o,6 bis i, 5 % Vänadium. Die der Erfindung zugrunde liegende Erkenntnis, daß die Leistung der Schnelldrehstähle nicht von deren Wolframgehalt abzuhängen braucht, sondern maßgeblich und sogar allein durch den Vanadiumanteil erreicht werden kann, war der bisherigen Entwicklung nicht zu entnehmen. Auch die bekannte Anweisung;, den Vanadiumgehalt der Schnelldnehstähle in bestimmter Weise auf den Kohlenstoff einzurebeln, konnte zu ihr nicht führen; da das im übrigen sehr unterschiedlich angegebene Verhältnis Vanadium:Kohlenstoff in keine Beziehung zum Wolframgehalt der Schnelldrehstähle gebracht war.
