Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung des im Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1 genannten Typs zum Schweißen von mit Thermoplast beschichtetem Packstoff
- Eine Vorrichtung dieses Typs ist in DE-A-2 835 552 beschrieben. Die beiden elektrischen Leiter verlaufen in einer Ebene, die parallel zu der Ebene des Packstoffs liegt, der durch Erwärmen und Schmelzen der Thermoplastbeschichtung zu schweißen ist. Die beiden elektrischen Leiter haben gleichartige Querschnitte und Ausdehnungen und bilden ein Paar von symmetrisch angeordneten Schweißzonen.
- Diese Art von induktivem Schweißen bietet gegenüber dem Schweißen unter Anwendung von Heißluft Vorteile. Allerdings treten relativ hohe Energieverluste auf.
- Es ist eine Aufgabe der Erfindung, eine Schweißvorrichtung einer relativ einfachen Konstruktion bereitzustellen, die gutes Schweißen innerhalb einer relativ schmalen Oberfläche erlaubt, ohne daß hohe Stromverluste auftreten, wobei Kühlprobleme in bezug auf den Induktor vermieden werden.
- Die Erfindung ist in Patentanspruch 1 gekennzeichnet, und bevorzugte Ausführungsformen sind in Unteransprüchen angegeben.
- Gemäß der Erfindung hat wenigstens einer der beiden Leiter eine erheblich größere Ausdehnung als der zweite Leiter, so daß eine asymmetrische Konfiguration gebildet ist. Der Leiter mit der erheblich größeren Ausdehnung verläuft in einer zweiten Ebene, die etwa unter einem rechten Winkel zu der Ebene liegt, in der das Schweißen der Thermoplastmaterialien stattfindet. Dieser Winkel braucht jedoch nicht ein exakter rechter Winkel zu sein.
- Eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform der Erfindung wird nachste hend im einzelnen unter Bezugnahme auf die Zeichnungen beschrieben.
- Fig. 1 zeigt den Induktorteil der Vorrichtung;
- Fig. 2 zeigt schematisch einen Schnitt durch den Induktorteil der Vorrichtung; und
- Fig. 3 zeigt schematisch einen Schnitt, der verdeutlicht, wie das Schweißen am Rand des vorbereiteten Zuschnitts ausgeführt wird.
- In den Zeichnungen zeigt Fig. 1 den Induktorteil der Vorrichtung; dieser Teil besteht aus einer im wesentlichen kubischen Trägereinheit 2, die aus einem elektrisch isolierenden Material, bevorzugt einem Verbundguß mit Ferrit, hergestellt ist. In und teilweise an der Oberfläche der Trägereinheit sind zwei Leiter 3 und 4 vorgesehen, die elektrisch miteinander verbunden sind. Der eine Leiter 3 besteht aus einem Rohr oder Stab aus Kupfer. Der andere Leiter 4 besteht aus einer Kupferplatte. Der erstgenannte Leiter 3 kann vorteilhaft mit einer Rippe 5 ausgebildet sein, die von der Oberfläche der Trägereinheit hochsteht.
- Diese hochstehende Rippe 5 wird während des Schweißbetriebs mit größerem Druck an den Packstoff 9 gepreßt und trägt zur Realisierung besserer Schweißnähte oder -verbindungen bei.
- In einer Ebene der Trägereinheit 2, die als die erste Ebene 6 bezeichnet ist, sind die beiden Leiter 3, 4 an der Oberfläche als zwei Teile von annähernd gleicher Breite zu sehen, die einen Zwischenraum zwischen sich aufweisen. In einer zweiten Ebene 7 im rechten Winkel zu der ersten Ebene 6 ist der erste Leiter 4 als eine beträchtlich breitere Kupferfläche zu sehen. Seine Breite beträgt wenigstens das Zweifache der Breite des Leiters 3. Bei einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist der Leiter 4 ungefähr dreimal so breit wie die Breite des Leiters 3. Das Aufheizverhältnis ist das Quadrat der Breite, und bei der bevorzugten Ausführungsform erhält man daher eine neunfach höhere Aufheizung unter dem schmaleren Leiter 4, während gleichzeitig die Größe des Induktors 1 innerhalb annehmbarer Grenzen gehalten werden kann.
- In dem einen Ende der Trägereinheit sind die Leiter 3 und 4 zu Verbindungselementen 8 für eine HF-Stromquelle (nicht gezeigt) verlängert, von der ein konstanter Ausgangsstrom erhalten werden kann, der für einen optimalen Schweißvorgang geregelt werden kann. Im anderen Ende der Trägereinheit 2 sind die Leiter 3 und 4 elektrisch miteinander so verbunden, daß sie eine Windung in einer Spule bilden.
- Eine Schweißvorrichtung oder ein Induktor 1 der in Fig. 1 gezeigten Bauart soll in einem Maschinenteil angebracht werden, das die gewünschte Schweißbewegung ausführt und den gewünschten Schweißdruck aufbringt. Anders ausgedrückt wird dieses Schweißelement (das häufig als Schweißbacke bezeichnet wird) in einer Relativbewegung gegen eine sogenannte Gegenbacke 10 bewegt, die in den meisten Fällen ebenfalls bewegbar ist. Die Gegenbacke 10 ist vollständig oder teilweise aus Hartgummi hergestellt, so daß sie als Druckaus gleicher dienen kann. Das offene Ende des gefüllten Verpackungsbehälter-Rohlings ist so geformt, daß der Packstoff 9 über eine möglichst große Breite zusammengebracht wird. Die vorgenannten Schweißbacken 1 und 10 werden gegeneinander geschlossen, wie in Fig. 3 gezeigt ist, und beide Schweißbacken 1 und 10 umgeben den Teil des Packstoffs 9, der zu verschweißen ist. In einem solchen Fall liegt der Packstoff 9 an beiden Ebenen 6 und 7 an, wo die Leiter 3 und 4 an der Oberfläche der Trägereinheit 2 des Induktors 1 sichtbar sind.
- Die Schweißbacken 1 und 10 bringen Druck auf die zusammengepreßten Packstoff schichten 9 auf, während gleichzeitig in dem Schweißbereich mit Hilfe des Induktors 1 Wärme erzeugt wird.
- Wenn ein HF-Strom durch die Wicklung fließt, die von den beiden Leitern 3 und 4 des Induktors 1 gebildet ist, wird in der Metallfolienschicht in dem Packstoff 9 ein Strom induziert, und dadurch wird die Metallfolienschicht rasch aufgeheizt und gibt Wärme an die benachbarte Thermoplastschicht ab, die zum Schmelzen und zum Verschmelzen mit angrenzenden inneren Thermoplastschichten der benachbarten Packstoffschicht gebracht wird. Dieses Aufheizen erfolgt sehr rasch und wirkungsvoll, und grundsätzlich kann angenommen werden, daß die Metallfolienschicht eine kurzgeschlossene Wicklung in einem Transformator bildet, in dem die Induktorspule eine Primärwicklung bildet.
- Wenn der Induktor 1 angrenzend an die Aluminiumfolienschicht angeordnet wird, in der ein Strom induziert werden soll, ist die Stromdurchflußbahn in der Aluminiumschicht ganz deutlich zentral in dem Leiter 3, und die Wärmeerzeugung wird auf einen schmalen Bereich 11 begrenzt, der im wesentlichen der Breite des Leiters 3 des Induktors entspricht. Gegenüber dem breiten Bereich des Leiters 4 in der zweiten Ebene 7 wird der induzierte Strom über eine Zone 12 verteilt, die wenigstens dreimal breiter als die Zone 11 ist, die in bezug auf den Leiter 3 zentral positioniert ist. Da der Strom über eine größere Oberfläche in dem Leiter 4 verteilt ist, wird die Zone 12 nicht bis zum Schmelzpunkt des Thermoplastmaterials erwärmt, und der Packstoff 9, der an dem breiten Be reich des Leiters 4 anliegt, bleibt im Augenblick des Verschmelzens und Schweißens unbeeinflußt. Wenn der Leiter 4 wie bei der bevorzugten Ausführungsform plaziert ist, wird eine konzentrierte und effiziente Schweißverbindung des Packstoffs 9 erhalten. Bei jeder anderen Anordnung, bei der der Leiter 4 weiter von dem Packstoff 9 entfernt angeordnet ist, besteht die Gefahr einer Verschlechterung des Schweißeffekts, und zwar speziell zu den Enden des Induktors 1 hin.
- Unter Anwendung der Erfindung ist es daher möglich, ein Verschweißen oder Verschmelzen zu realisieren, das durch Induktionsheizen einer sehr begrenzten Breite bewirkt wird, wobei die Ränder klein sind und wobei es nicht zulässig ist, über die Zone hinauszugehen, die für die eigentliche Schweißung verfügbar ist. Gleichzeitig wird der Induktor auf eine effiziente Weise angewandt, und es wird eine dichte und dauerhafte Schweißnaht oder -verbindung erhalten.
Claims (4)
1. Vorrichtung zum Schweißen von thermoplastbeschichtetem
Packstoff (9), der wenigstens eine Lage Metallfolie,
bevorzugt Aluminiumfolie, aufweist, wobei die Vorrichtung einen
Induktor (1), der mit einem HF-Strom verbindbar und in bezug
auf eine Stromquelle relativ bewegbar ist, und einen
Gegenblock (10) aufweist und wenigstens zwei Leiter (3, 4), die
in einer ersten Ebene (6) in geringfügig voneinander
beabstandeter Beziehung parallel zueinander angeordnet sind, und
eine elektrisch isolierende Trägereinheit (2) aufweist,
wobei der Packstoff (9) zum Zweck des Schweißens zwischen dem
Induktor (1) und dem Gegenblock (10) in der ersten Ebene (6)
angeordnet wird,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß wenigstens einer (4) der beiden Leiter (3, 4) eine
erheblich größere Ausdehnung als der zweite Leiter (3) in
einer zweiten Ebene (7) hat, die ungefähr unter einem
rechten Winkel zu der ersten Ebene (6) liegt.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß der erste Leiter (4) eine Breite in der genannten Ebene
(7) hat, die wenigstens doppelt so breit wie der zweite
Leiter (3) ist.
3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß beide Leiter (3, 4) in der ersten Ebene (6) die gleiche
Breite haben.
4. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß der Packstoff (9) wenigstens teilweise an dem wesentlich
größeren ausgedehnten Bereich des einen Leiters (4) anliegt,
der in der zweiten Ebene (7) liegt.
