Abstract

A process is disclosed for automatically controlling the movements of a vehicle door (7) and of a matching station door (9) in a public transport system (1). In order to co-ordinate the movements of the doors in a particularly simple manner, a corresponding control signal is directly transmitted between the matching doors (7, 9). In order to control a co-ordinated movement, a first control system (15) is associated with the vehicle door (7) and a second control system (20) is associated with the matching station door (9). Advantageously, a local door control (13a, 16a) is associated with each door (7, 9).
