Description
Die Erfindung betrifft Trisamidodithionodiphosphate, ein Verfahren zu deren
Herstellung, deren Verwendung als Stabilisatoren und diese enthaltende
Zusammensetzungen.
GB 1,598,744 beschreibt Flammschutzmittel der Formel
worin R′ und R′′ gegebenenfalls
halogensubstituierte Alkyl-, Phenyl- oder Benzylreste sind oder zusammen
heterozyklische Ringe mit einem zusätzlichen Schwefel-, Stickstoff- oder Sauerstoffatom
bilden.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft neue Verbindungen der Formeln I und Ia
worin R1 und R2 unabhängig voneinander C1-C13-Alkyl, das durch Sauerstoff
unterbrochen sein kann, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie
gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
darstellen,
R für Wasserstoff oder Methyl steht,
R3 Wasserstoff oder C1-C13-Alkyl bedeutet, und
R4 und R5 unabhängig voneinander Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl, das durch Sauerstoff unterbrochen sein kann, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
R für Wasserstoff oder Methyl steht,
R3 Wasserstoff oder C1-C13-Alkyl bedeutet, und
R4 und R5 unabhängig voneinander Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl, das durch Sauerstoff unterbrochen sein kann, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
darstellen,
mit der Maßgabe, daß R3, R4 und R5 nicht gleichzeitig Wasserstoff sind und HNR1R2 nicht identisch mit NR3R4R5 ist.

Stellen R1 R2 und R3 C1-C13-Alkyl dar, so sind darunter beispielsweise die Reste Methyl,
Ethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, n-Butyl, Isobutyl, t-Butyl, Pentyl, Isopentyl, Hexyl, Heptyl,
3-Heptyl, Octyl, 2-Ethylhexyl, Nonyl, Decyl, Undecyl, Dodecyl, Tridecyl, 2-Ethylbutyl,
1-Methylpentyl, 1,3-Dimethylbutyl, 1,1,3,3-Tetramethylbutyl, 1-Methylhexyl, Isoheptyl,
1-Methylheptyl, 1,1,3-Trimethylhexyl oder 1-Methylundecyl zu verstehen. R4 und R5 als
C1-C18-Alkyl können zusätzlich noch beispielsweise Tetradecyl, Pentadecyl, Hexadecyl,
Heptadecyl oder Octadecyl bedeuten.
Sind solche Alkylreste etwa durch -O- unterbrochen, so findet sich darin z. B. bevorzugt
die Struktureinheit -CH2-CH2-O-. Beispiele für Alkylreste mit 1-8 C-Atomen sind obiger
Liste zu entnehmen.
Bedeuten etwaige Reste C5-C6-Cycloalkyl, so ist darunter Cyclopentyl oder -hexyl zu
verstehen.
R3 ist vorzugsweise Wasserstoff.
Bevorzugt sind Verbindungen, worin R1 und R2 C1-C8-Alkyl, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder
zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
darstellen,
R3 für Wasserstoff oder C1-C8-Alkyl steht, und
R4 und R5 Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
R3 für Wasserstoff oder C1-C8-Alkyl steht, und
R4 und R5 Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel

ferner solche, worin R1 und R2 C1-C8-Alkyl, oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel

darstellen,
R3 für Wasserstoff steht, und
R4 und R5 Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel

R4 und R5 Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
darstellen.
Die Verbindungen der Formeln I und Ia sind insbesondere als Schmiermitteladditive
geeignet.
Die Erfindung betrifft daher auch Zusammensetzungen enthaltend
- a) einen Schmierstoff, eine Metallbearbeitungs- oder Hydraulikflüssigkeit und
- b) mindestens eine Verbindung der Formeln I oder Ia, wobei die oben als bevorzugt genannten Verbindungen zu bevorzugten Zusammensetzungen führen.
Die in den erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen enthaltenen Schmierstoffe,
Hydraulik- und Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeiten können sich mehr oder weniger leicht
unter Einfluß von Wärme, mechanischer Belastung (insbesondere durch Scherkräfte) und
chemischen Reagentien (besonders Luftsauerstoff) zersetzen.
Dem Schutz vor solchen Einflüssen dienen die Verbindungen der Formeln I und Ia, die in
den erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzungen zweckmäßig zu 0,01 bis 10, beispielsweise
zu 0,05 bis 5, vorzugsweise zu 0,05 bis 3, insbesondere jedoch zu 0,1 bis 2 Gew.-%
vorliegen sollen. Es kann sich dabei um eine oder mehrere dieser Verbindungen handeln,
und die Gewichtsprozentangaben beziehen sich auf die gesamte Menge dieser Verbin
dungen. Berechnungsgrundlage ist dabei das Gesamtgewicht des Schmierstoffes bzw. der
Metallbearbeitungs- oder Hydraulikflüssigkeit ohne die Verbindungen der Formel I bzw.
Ia.
Die Erfindung betrifft daher auch die Verwendung von Verbindungen der Formeln I und
Ia als Additive in Schmierstoffen, Hydraulik- und Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeiten,
insbesondere als Hochdruck- und Verschleißschutzadditive sowie Reibungsverbesserer
(friction modifier).
Eine solche Verwendung bedeutet auch ein Verfahren zur Verbesserung der
Gebrauchseigenschaften von Schmierstoffen, Metallbearbeitungs- und
Hydraulikflüssigkeiten. Die erfindungsgemäße Verwendung schließt auch den Schutz der
zu schmierenden Metallteile vor mechanischer Abnutzung (Verschleißschutz) ein.
Die in Frage kommenden Schmierstoffe, Metallbearbeitungs- und Hydraulikflüssigkeiten
basieren beispielsweise auf mineralischen oder synthetischen Ölen oder Mischungen
davon. Die Schmierstoffe sind dem Fachmann geläufig und in der einschlägigen
Fachliteratur, wie beispielsweise in Dieter Klamann, "Schmierstoffe und verwandte
Produkte" (Verlag Chemie, Weinheim, 1982), in Schewe-Kobek, "Das
Schmiermittel-Taschenbuch" (Dr. Alfred Hüthig-Verlag, Heidelberg, 1974) und in
"Ullmanns Enzyklopädie der technischen Chemie", Bd. 13, Seiten 85-94 (Verlag Chemie,
Weinheim, 1977) beschrieben.
Die Schmierstoffe sind insbesondere Öle und Fette, beispielsweise basierend auf einem
Mineralöl. Bevorzugt sind Öle.
Eine weitere Gruppe von Schmierstoffen, die zur Anwendung gelangen können, sind
pflanzliche oder tierische Öle, Fette, Talge und Wachse oder deren Gemische unterein
ander oder Gemische mit den erwähnten mineralischen oder synthetischen Ölen.
Pflanzliche und tierische Öle, Fette, Talge und Wachse sind beispielsweise Palmkernöl,
Palmöl, Olivenöl, Rüböl, Rapsöl, Leinöl, Erdnußöl, Sojabohnenöl, Baumwollöl, Sonnen
blumenöl, Kürbiskernöl, Kokosnußöl, Maisöl, Rizinusöl, Baumnußöl und Mischungen
davon, Fischöle, Talge von Schlachttieren wie Rindertalg, Klauenfett und Knochenöl
sowie deren modifizierte, epoxidierte und sulfoxidierte Formen, beispielsweise epoxi
diertes Sojabohnenöl.
Die Mineralöle basieren insbesondere auf Kohlenwasserstoffverbindungen.
Beispiele von synthetischen Schmierstoffen umfassen Schmierstoffe auf der Basis der
aliphatischen oder aromatischen Carboxylester, der polymeren Ester, der Polyalkylen
oxide, der Phosphorsäureester, der Poly-α-olefine oder der Silicone, eines Diesters einer
zweiwertigen Säure mit einem einwertigen Alkohol, wie z. B. Dioctylsebacat oder
Dinonyladipat, eines Triesters von Trimethylolpropan mit einer einwertigen Säure oder
mit einem Gemisch solcher Säuren, wie z. B. Trimethylolpropantripelargonat, Trimethylol
propan-tricaprylat oder Gemische davon, eines Tetraesters von Pentaerythrit mit einer ein
wertigen Säure oder mit einem Gemisch solcher Säuren, wie z. B. Pentaerythrit-tetra
caprylat, oder eines komplexen Esters von einwertigen und zweiwertigen Säuren mit
mehrwertigen Alkoholen, z. B. ein komplexer Ester von Trimethylolpropan mit Capryl- und
Sebacinsäure oder von einem Gemisch davon. Besonders geeignet sind neben
Mineralölen z. B. Poly-α-Olefine, Schmierstoffe auf Esterbasis, Phosphate, Glykole, Poly
glykole und Polyalkylenglykole, sowie deren Mischungen mit Wasser.
Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeiten und Hydraulikflüssigkeiten können auf Basis der gleichen
Substanzen hergestellt werden wie vorstehend für die Schmiermittel beschrieben. Häufig
handelt es sich dabei auch um Emulsionen solcher Substanzen in Wasser oder anderen
Flüssigkeiten.
Erfindungsgemäße Schmierstoffzusammensetzungen finden z. B. Verwendung in Verbren
nungsmotoren, z. B. in Kraftfahrzeugen, ausgerüstet mit Motoren des Otto-, Diesel-,
Zweitakt-, Wankel- oder Orbitaltyps.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I bzw. Ia sind gut in Schmierstoffen, Metallbearbeitungs- und
Hydraulikflüssigkeiten löslich und sind deshalb als Zusätze zu Schmierstoffen,
Metallbearbeitungs- und Hydraulikflüssigkeiten besonders geeignet, und es ist besonders
auf ihre überraschend gute verschleißhemmende Wirkung hinzuweisen.
Daher betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung ebenfalls ein Verfahren zur Verbesserung der
Gebrauchseigenschaften von Schmierstoffen, Metallbearbeitungs- und
Hydraulikflüssigkeiten, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß diesen Verbindungen der Formeln I
oder Ia zugesetzt werden.
Die Verbindungen der Formeln I und Ia können den Schmierstoffen auf an sich bekannte
Weise beigemischt werden.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Schmierstoffe, Metallbearbeitungs- und Hydraulikflüssigkeiten
können zusätzlich andere Additive enthalten, die zugegeben werden, um ihre
Grundeigenschaften noch weiter zu verbessern; dazu gehören: weitere Antioxidantien,
Metallpassivatoren, Rostinhibitoren, Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer, Stockpunkterniedriger,
Dispergiermittel, Detergentien, weitere Hochdruck-Zusätze und Antiverschleiß-Additive.
Es folgen Beispiele solcher weiteren Zusatzstoffe:
- 1. Alkylierte Monophenole, z. B. 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol, 2-tert.-butyl-4,6-di methylphenol, 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-ethylphenol, 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-n-butylphenol, 2,6-Di- tert.-butyl-4-i-butylphenol, 2,6-Di-cyclopentyl-4-methylphenol, 2-(α-Methylcyclohexyl)- 4,6-dimethylphenol, 2,6-Di-octadecyl-4-methylphenol, 2,4,6-Tri-cyclohexylphenol, 2,6- Di-tert.-butyl-4-methoxymethylphenol, 2,6-Di-nonyl-4-methylphenol, 2,4-Dimethyl-6- (1′-methyl-undec-1′-yl)-phenol, 2,4-Dimethyl-6-(1′-methyl-heptadec-1′-yl)-phenol, 2,4-Di methyl-6-(1′-methyl-tridec-1′-yl)-phenol und Mischungen davon.
- 2. Alkylthiomethylphenole, z. B. 2,4-Di-octylthiomethyl-6-tert.-butylphenol, 2,4-Di- octylthiomethyl-6-methylphenol, 2,4-Di-octylthiomethyl-6-ethylphenol, 2,6-Di-do decylthiomethyl-4-nonylphenol.
- 3. Hydrochinone und alkylierte Hydrochinone, z. B. 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methoxyphenol, 2,5-Di-tert.-butyl-hydrochinon, 2,5-Di-tert.-amyl-hydrochinon, 2,6-Diphenyl-4-octa decyloxyphenol, 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-hydrochinon, 2,5-Di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxyanisol, 3,5-Di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxyanisol, 3,5-Di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl-stearat, Bis-(3,5-di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)adipat.
- 4. Hydroxylierte Thiodiphenylether, z. B. 2,2′-Thio-bis-(6-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol), 2,2′-Thio-bis-(4-octylphenol), 4,4′-Thio-bis-(6-tert.-butyl-3-methylphenol), 4,4′-Thio-bis- (6-tert.-butyl-2-methylphenol), 4,4′-Thio-bis-(3,6-di-sec.-amylphenol), 4,4′-Bis- (2,6-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-disulfid.

Die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen kann z. B. nach folgendem Schema
erfolgen:
Die Erfindung betrifft somit auch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Verbindungen der
Formeln I und Ia, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Amid der Formel II, vorzugsweise in
einem Lösungsmittel, mit Schwefel umgesetzt wird und gegebenenfalls mit einem
weiteren Amin der Formel III weiter zur Verbindung der Formel I umgesetzt wird, wobei
die Amine HNR1R2 und NR3R₄R5 nicht identisch sind.
Die Umsetzung mit Schwefel erfolgt exotherm, so daß für geeignete Kühlung gesorgt
werden muß, damit die Temperatur nicht zu hoch steigt, vorzugsweise nicht über 85-90°C.
Üblicherweise wird die Reaktion bei Temperaturen von 0 bis 90°C, insbesondere von 20
bis 90°C, z. B. von 40 bis 90°C durchgeführt. Als Lösungsmittel eignen sich inerte, u. U.
auch polare aprotische (wie Dimethylformamid), Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise
Kohlenwasserstoffe mit geeignetem Siedepunkt. Bevorzugt sind aromatische
Kohlenwasserstoffe wie Benzol und alkylierte Benzole, z. B. Xylol oder Toluol, besonders
Toluol.
Die fakultative Überführung einer Verbindung der Formel Ia in eine solche der Formel I
kann nach in der Chemie üblichen Methoden (Umsalzung) erfolgen, d. h. durch
Behandlung einer Verbindung der Formel Ia mit einem Amin der Formel III,
gegebenenfalls in einem Lösungsmittel.
In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung hat das Amin der Formel III einen
höheren Siedepunkt als die Verbindung HNR1R2 (Ib). Daher wird beispielsweise zur
Herstellung von Verbindungen der Formel I bei Raum- oder leicht erhöhter Temperatur in
Anwesenheit des Amins der Formel III einmal oder mehrmals Vakuum angelegt, so daß Ib
ausgetrieben wird und die Verbindung der Formel I entsteht. Die Amide der Formel II
sind an sich bekannt (vgl. DE-AS 11 25 425) oder können analog zu der in "Methoden der
organischen Chemie (Houben-Weyl) Bd. XII/2 (1964) Organische Phosphorverbindungen
Teil 2", S. 103-4, beschriebenen Methylverbindung hergestellt werden.
Nähere Einzelheiten über die Verfahrensweise sind den folgenden Beispielen zu
entnehmen.
Diese Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung weiter, ohne sie jedoch zu beschränken. Teile- und
Prozentangaben beziehen sich, sofern nicht anders angegeben, auf das Gewicht.
35,2 g Phosphorigsäure-tris-diethylamid (DE-AS 11 25 425) werden unter Rühren und
Kühlen bei einer Temperatur unterhalb 40°C innerhalb 35 min mit 13,8 g phosphoriger
Säure versetzt. Das Gemisch wird weitere 30 min bei 35°C, 15 Min bei 40°C und 15 min
bei 60°C nachgerührt und über Nacht bei Raumtemperatur stehen gelassen. Die
anschließende Destillation liefert 30,1 g eines Öls.
9,6 g (0,050 mol) Phosphorigsäure-bis-diethylamid in 5 ml Toluol werden bei 60-80°C
zu einer Suspension von 1,6 g (0,050 mol ) Schwefel in 5 ml Toluol unter Rühren
zugetropft. Die Temperatur der exothermen Reaktion soll dabei 85 bis 90°C nicht
übersteigen. Nachdem der Schwefel völlig ausreagiert hat, wird noch eine Stunde bei
90°C gerührt. Das Lösungsmittel wird anschließend bei 60°C im Vakuum abdestilliert.
Ausbeute: 10,9 g (97% der Theorie) hellgelbe, hochviskose Flüssigkeit; nD 20 1,5170.

Aus dem nach mehreren Tagen kristallisierten Produkt werden nach Behandlung mit
Isopropanol 2,4 g farblose Kristalle isoliert.

Analog Beispiel 1 werden die in der folgenden Tabelle 1 zusammengefaßten
Verbindungen 2-4 hergestellt:
Beispiel 5: 10,2 g (0,03 mol) der Verbindung gemäß Beispiel 2 werden mit 12,55 g (0,03
mol) Di-i-tridecylamin und 50 ml Toluol gemischt und eine Stunde bei 80°C gerührt.
Dann wird das freigesetzte Dimethylamin zusammen mit dem Lösungsmittel im Vakuum
bei 80°C abdestilliert.
Ausbeute 19,6 g (97% d.Th.), gelbe Flüssigkeit.

Beispiel 6: Wie in Beispiel 5 beschrieben, werden 10,2 g (0,03 mol) der Verbindung
gemäß Beispiel 2 mit 8,1 g (0,03 mol) Oleylamin umgesetzt.
Ausbeute 16,7 g (99% d.Th.), gelbe Flüssigkeit.

Zur Prüfung auf verschleiß- und reibungsvermindernde Eigenschaften wird eine der
erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen in ein nichtlegiertes Schmieröl eingearbeitet und mit
Hilfe des SRV-Gerätes (Schwing-Reib-Verschleiß-Gerät der Firma Optimol, München;
vgl. Lubrication Engineering 39 (11)1982, Advert. Index cover 3, page 729) der
Reibungskoeffizient µ bei 100°C und 150 °C bestimmt.
Bei dieser Methode wird eine oszillierende Kugel (50 Hz) mit einer Kraft von 200 N
gegen einen fest eingespannten Metallzylinder gepreßt, auf dem sich das Prüföl befindet.
Horizontal- und Vertikalkräfte werden mit einem piezoelektrischen Kraftaufnehmer
gemessen. Das resultierende Signal wird über einen Ladungsverstärker direkt auf den
Schreiber übertragen. Nach Beendigung der Prüfung wird das Querprofil der
Verschleißmarke auf dem Metallzylinder mit Hilfe eines Profilometers (TALYSURF 10)
gemessen. Die Prüfresultate sind in Tabelle 3 zusammengestellt.
Die relativ zum unlegierten Basisöl geringen Verschleiß- und Reibwerte zeigen, daß die
zugegebene Verbindung verschleißmindernd wirkt.
Claims (13)
1. Verbindungen der Formeln I und Ia
worin R1 und R2 unabhängig voneinander C1-C13-Alkyl, das durch Sauerstoff
unterbrochen sein kann, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie
gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel
ist,
R für Wasserstoff oder Methyl steht,
R3 Wasserstoff oder C1-C13-Alkyl bedeutet, und
R4 und R5 unabhängig voneinander Wasserstoff, C1-C18-Alkyl, das durch Sauerstoff unterbrochen sein kann, C5-C6-Cycloalkyl oder zusammen mit dem N-Atom, an das sie gebunden sind, eine Gruppe der Formel darstellen, mit der Maßgabe, daß R3, R₄ und R5 nicht gleichzeitig Wasserstoff sind und HNR1R2 nicht identisch mit NR3R4R5 ist.

sind.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Reaktion mit Schwefel
bei Temperaturen von 0 bis 90°C abläuft.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Umsetzung in einem
Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise in Toluol, durchgeführt wird.
7. Zusammensetzungen enthaltend
- a) einen Schmierstoff, eine Hydraulik- oder Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeit und
- b) mindestens eine Verbindung der Formeln I oder Ia nach Anspruch 1.
8. Zusammensetzungen nach Anspruch 7, enthaltend als Komponente b) mindestens eine
Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 2.
9. Zusammensetzungen nach Anspruch 7, enthaltend als Komponente b) mindestens eine
Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 3.
10. Zusammensetzungen nach Anspruch 7, die zusätzlich weitere Stabilisatoren wie
Antioxidantien, Metall-Desaktivatoren, Hochdruck- und Verschleißschutzzusätze,
Stockpunkterniedriger enthalten.
11. Zusammensetzungen nach Anspruch 7, worin die Komponente a) ein Motorenöl ist.
12. Verwendung von Verbindungen der Formeln I und Ia gemäß Anspruch 1 als Additive
in Schmierstoffen, Hydraulik- und Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeiten.
13. Verfahren zur Verbesserung der Gebrauchseigenschaften von Schmierstoffen,
Metallbearbeitungs- und Hydraulikflüssigkeiten, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß diesen
Verbindungen der Formeln I oder Ia gemäß Anspruch 1 zugesetzt werden.
