Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fluorescent lamp before switching device for dimming fluorescent lamps.
Ein derartiges Vorschaltgerät ist bekannt aus DE 91 00 552 H1.When operating a fluorescent lamp after Switch on the ballast several phases after performed each other until the stationary operation of the Fluorescent lamp is reached. First, in a Preheating phase preheated the lamp electrodes. Then numerous successive generated burst pulses to ignite the lamp. in the The ballast is connected to the ignition phase finally into the operational phase in which the Fluorescent lamp reversed with the operating frequency becomes. Dimming is usually dependent from an externally supplied brightness control signal, that supplied to the control device of the ballast and a phase control of the lamp current causes. Such a ballast is known from DE 91 00 552 H1.
The well-known fluorescent lamp ballasts that are suitable for dimming, have the disadvantage that following the preheating phase of the lamp at Firing a flash of light is generated while the lamp initially assumes its full brightness. First then the dimming control takes effect, whereby the lamp brightness on the the brightness control signal corresponding value reduced. The sudden The lamp lights up after switching on and on closing down in the set dimming condition is a disturbing phenomenon. The user, who turns on the lamp on the dimmer switch tends to due to the flash of light, the dimming still too ver strengthen. If the one providing the brightness control signal Encoder works depending on the ambient light, control fluctuations occur due to the flash of light.
The invention has for its object a light fabric lamp ballast to create that after the Switching on does not produce a disturbing flash of light.
This object is achieved with the invention the features specified in claim 1.
In the ballast according to the invention, the current or the voltage of the supply circuit at the end of the Preheating phase reduced to a minimum value that is at for example, zero or some other small value can. After the start of the ignition phase, i.e. during the Er generation of the burst pulses, the current or the Voltage from the supply circuit is delivered continuously except for one Brightness control signal corresponding end value ver enlarged. The fluorescent lamp is thus ignited at a relatively low lamp voltage and with a relatively low lamp current. If the lamp at ignited one of the initial burst pulses and the lamp voltage or lamp current continues to increase increases, the brightness increases to that of Brightness control signal predetermined end value. The Brightness is therefore not from a maximum value reduced, but slowly from a minimum value elevated.
The brightness with which the lamp lights up depends on gig of lamp current. To change the lamp current can the operating voltage supplied to the lamp ver be changed, which depends on the supply voltage. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the supply voltage at the end of the preheating phase decreased and gradually at the beginning of the ignition phase elevated. This can be done with one in the supply circuit provided control circuit. Deviating of this it is also possible to replace the tension of the Supply circuit from the supply circuit regulate delivered electricity.
The following is with reference to the drawings an embodiment of the invention explained in more detail.

The ballast of FIG. 1 includes a versor supply circuit 10 which is supplied to a pulsating DC voltage at the input and this pulsating DC voltage to a higher versor smoothed supply voltage U V reacted. The supply circuit 10 contains an input capacitor 11 connecting the input terminals and a series circuit comprising an electronic switch T1 and a coil 12 . The coil 12 is connected in series with a diode 13 and a capacitor 14 . The DC supply voltage U V arises at the capacitor 14 . The diode 13 is switched so that it is operated in the reverse direction when the switch T1 is conductive, that is to say that its cathode is connected to the positive pole of the input voltage. The level of the DC supply voltage U V is determined by actuating the switch T1, which is alternately controlled by a control unit CU1 in the conductive and the blocked state. The control unit CU1 receives a signal via line 15 which corresponds to the magnitude of the supply voltage U V , and controls the switch T1 so that this supply voltage is kept at a certain value.
In the present exemplary embodiment, the supply circuit 10 is an inverse regulator. When switch T1 is in the conductive state, a current flows from the positive input terminal via switch T1 and coil 12 to the negative input terminal. If the switch T1 is controlled in the blocking state, the inductance of the coil 12 discharges and the capacitor 14 is charged via the diode 13 . The degree of charge depends in particular on the frequency of the actuation of the switch T1 and on the duty cycle.
The supply voltage U V is supplied as a DC voltage to an inverter 20 which, in a known manner, has two electronic switches T2 and T3 connected in series, which are alternately switched on and off by a control unit CU2. The voltage U G at the output of the inverter 20 forms the generator gate voltage for lamp operation. The series connection of a coil L1 and the fluorescent lamp LL is connected to the generator voltage U G.
The fluorescent lamp LL has two electrodes E1 and E2. The electrode E1 is connected to the coil L1 and the electrode E2 is connected to the positive pole via a capacitor 21 and to the negative pole of the supply voltage U V via a further capacitor 22 . The capacitors 21 and 22 together with the scarf ters T2 and T3 of the inverter form a bridge circuit.
The electrodes E1 and E2 are connected by a bypass switch T4. The bridging switch T4 is controlled by the control unit CU2 in a manner still to be explained. The control unit CU2 is connected to an encoder 30 , which can supply a DC voltage in the range from 0 to 10 volts, which forms the brightness control signal.
The control unit CU2 controls the various phases of lamp operation and is connected to the inverter 20 for this purpose and to the control unit CU1 via a line 31 .
Die Steuereinheit CU3 liefert dann Signale an die beiden Steuereinheiten CU1 und CU2.In addition to the control units CU1 and CU2, the control device contains a further control unit CU3 which is connected via a line 32 to an input of the supply circuit 10 . Based on the voltage present on line 32 , the control unit CU3 recognizes when a voltage was applied to the input of the supply circuit 10 or when the ballast was switched on in order to put the lamp into operation. The control unit CU3 then delivers signals to the two control units CU1 and CU2.
In Fig. 2, the various switching states of the electronic switches T2, T3 and T4 in the different phases A, B and C of lamp operation are shown. A high signal means the conductive state of the switch in question and a low signal means the blocked state. After switching on the ballast, the bypass switch T4 is first controlled in the conductive state, so that a current path parallel to the fluorescent lamp LL is closed and the lamp electrodes E1 and E2 are preheated. Here, the control unit CU2 operates with a relatively low switching frequency for the inverter 20 . Since the fluorescent lamp LL is short-circuited in this phase, the lamp voltage U L = zero.
After a duration of the preheating phase A of z. B. 400 ms generates the control unit CU2 in the ignition phase B. Sequence of burst pulses in which the bypass switch T4 periodically for a short time is opened and closed. Through the sequence of Interruptions in the current path via the bridging switch T4 with fluorescent lamp not yet ignited a high arises from the effect of inductance L1 Ignition voltage between the lamp electrodes. After expiration the ignition phase B, which has a predetermined duration, switches the control unit CU2 to the operating frequency um, which is higher than the preheating frequency and the e.g. B. is 35 to 50 kHz.
In FIG. 2, the time course is shown of the fluorescent lamp supplied current i after switching on. This current i is proportional to the size of the supply voltage U V , which is predetermined by the control unit CU1. During the pre-heating phase A, the current i has its maximum value of 100%. At the end of the preheating phase A, the current i is continuously reduced to a minimum value, which is zero in the present exemplary embodiment. The ignition phase B starts from this minimum value. In ignition phase B, the lamp current has the frequency of the burst pulses. After a time function, the lamp current rises steadily from the minimum value until the value corresponding to the brightness control signal of the transmitter 30 is reached, which is then maintained. After the ignition, the lamp current remains constant at this value. When the stationary operating phase C is reached, the supply voltage is kept at the value specified by the brightness control signal, so that the current i also remains constant. This current is due to the action of the inverter 20 an alternating current, the frequency and shape of which corresponds to that of the lamp voltage U L.
The time-varying values for the supply voltage U V as a function of the switch-on time are specified by the control unit CU2, which communicates corresponding commands to the control unit CU1 via line 31 . The function of the control unit CU3 essentially consists only in determining the switch-on time.
Since the command variable, which is communicated to the control unit CU1 for the supply voltage U V , continuously decreases at the end of the preheating phase A and rises continuously after the start of the ignition phase B, it is ensured that the fluorescent lamp is not ignited with full lamp current if that from The brightness control signal supplied by the encoder 30 specifies a lower value.
