Die Bewegung in Richtung q wird durch einen Lenker s und einen vom Schaltrade c angetriebenen Winkelhebel erzeugt. Die Rückbewegung in der Pfeilrichtung r wird durch eine beim Vorgange der Rinne gespannte Feder w bewirkt, sobald das Schaltrad c den Winkelhebel freiläßt. Die Rinne ist unten an der Stelle 2 unterteilt und besitzt hier das Schwingungsgelenk. Die nach unten zu dem Schaufelrad m gelangten Kartoffeln werden von den Schaufeln desselben einzeln in die vorher schon gepflügte Ackerfurche geworfen.
