Description
Die Erfindung betrifft neue phosphorhaltige Duromere aus
Oligophosphiten und Epoxiden oder Bisacrylaten oder un
gesättigten Polyestern.
Aus der EP-A 4 20 811 ist die Umsetzung von Spirobis
phosphiten mit Phosphorigsäuretriestergruppen mit
Epoxyharzen bekannt. Es wurden bräunliche, duromere
Formmassen erhalten.
Die Umsetzung von ungesättigten Verbindungen mit Di
phosphiten (Diestern der phosphorigen Säure) zur Her
stellung von Polymeren ist prinzipiell bekannt.
So lehrt die US-A 31 94 795 die Herstellung eines
cyclischen Phosphits aus Trimethylolpropanmonoallylether
mit Triphenylphosphit und anschließender Verseifung des
cyclischen Triesters, sowie die Polymerisation dieser
Verbindung. Nachteilig bei diesem Verfahren ist, daß
zweistufig umgesetzt werden muß, um die gleichzeitige
Anwesenheit von Phosphor-Wasserstoffbindungen und Allyl
gruppen bei höheren Temperaturen zu vermeiden (spontane
Zersetzung).
Die US-A 31 58 642 beschreibt die Herstellung von Poly
phosphinoxiden aus Phenylphosphin und Alkinen. Phenyl
phosphin ist feuergefährlich, die Handhabung von Alkinen
bei höheren Temperaturen unter Druck ist aufwendig.
Die Umsetzung von Phosphor-Wasserstoffbindungen mit un
gesättigten Gruppen oder gespannten, kleinen Ringen ist
trotz dieser Schwierigkeiten interessant, da durch Wahl
der Bausteine Duromere von kautschukartigen Systemen bis
hin zum harten, flammfesten Werkstoff hergestellt werden
können. Wünschenswert sind daher Bausteine, die sich
leicht synthetisieren lassen und deren Handhabung sicher
ist.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß Mischungen aus Oligophos
phiten und ungesättigten Verbindungen oder Mischungen
aus Oligophosphiten und Epoxiden zu Duromeren aus
härten.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind daher Duromere, die sich
durch Reaktion von
- A) Oligophosphiten der Formel I,
wobei
R für einen C₂-C₄₄-Alkylenrest steht oder der Formel (II), (IV) oder (V) entspricht Ar für einen C₆-C₁₄-Arylenrest steht oder der Formel (III) entspricht wobei
R1 für einen C1-C4-Alkylrest oder für Wasserstoff steht und die Reste R1 gleich oder verschieden sein können,
R2 für einen C1-C12-Alkyliden-, einen C6-C12- Cycloalkyliden-, einen C2-C20-Alkylen-, einen araliphatischen, divalenten C7-C26-Rest, ein Sauerstoffatom, eine Carbonylgruppe, ein Schwefelatom, eine Sulfongruppe oder eine chemische Bindung steht,
X für einen C1-C4-Alkylrest steht
m und p für natürliche Zahlen von 1 bis 200 stehen,
n für eine natürliche Zahl von 1 bis 20 steht,
oder von Oligophosphiten, erhältlich durch Reaktion von Dimethylphosphit oder Diethylphosphit oder Di propylphosphiten oder Dibutylphosphiten mit Triolen, beidenen je zwei OH-Gruppen sich in 1,2- oder 1,3-Stellung zueinander befinden, gegebenen falls unter Mitverwendung von Diolen, deren organischer Rest R oder R1 entspricht, wobei die so erhältlichen Oligophosphite Struktureinheiten der Formeln (VI), (VII), (VIII) oder (IX) enthalten und
R³ einem C₁-C₁₂-Alkylenrest entspricht, mit - B1) mehrfach ungesättigten Bausteinen, wie z. B. unge sättigten Polyestern, die als ungesättigte Bau steine vorzugsweise Maleinsäure- oder Fumarsäure estereinheiten oder Allylethergruppen-haltige Bau steine enthalten, oder Acrylaten oder Methacrylaten von Di- oder Polyolen, oder durch Reaktion von Oligophosphiten A mit
- B2) di- oder polyfunktionellen Epoxiden erhältlich sind,
wobei für jedes Phosphitäquivalent 0,7 bis 5 Äquivalente
an Doppelbindungen oder Epoxygruppen eingesetzt werden.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren
zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Duromeren, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die Gemische aus Oligophosphit A und
mehrfach ungesättigten Bausteinen B1) mit 0 bis 5 Gew.-%
an basischen Katalysatoren, wie z. B. Hydroxiden,
Carbonaten oder C1-C5-Alkoholaten von Alkali- oder Erd
alkalimetallen oder mit 0 bis 5 Gew.-% an Initiatoren
für Radikalreaktionen, wie z. B. Azoverbindungen oder
Peroxyverbindungen, wobei die basischen Katalysatoren
nur für ungesättigte Polyester mit Maleinsäure- oder
Fumarsäureestereinheiten wirksam sind, oder die Gemische
aus den Oligophosphiten A) und Epoxiden B2) mit 0 bis 5
Gew.-% an basischen Katalysatoren, wie z. B. Hydroxiden,
Carbonaten oder Alkoholaten von Alkali- oder Erdalkali
metallen 0,1 bis 10 h bei Temperaturen von 80°C bis
220°C gehärtet werden.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Oligophos
phite, erhalten durch Umsetzung von Diolen deren
organischer Rest R oder R1 entspricht mit der doppelt-
bis zehnfachmolaren Menge an Dimethylphosphit, Diethyl
phosphit, Dipropylphosphiten oder Dibutylphosphiten in
Gegenwart von 0,01 bis 2 Gew.-% basischen Katalysatoren,
vorzugsweise Alkalicarbonaten, besonders bevorzugt
Kaliumcarbonat, wobei zunächst bei Temperaturen von 100
bis 190°C die aliphatischen Alkohole, die aus den Di
alkylphosphiten gebildet werden, vorzugsweise unter
Normaldruck, abdestilliert werden und dann, vorzugsweise
unter vermindertem Druck von 1 bis 100 mbar und Tempera
turen von 100 bis 190°C, Dialkylphosphit abdestilliert
wird.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Oligophos
phite, erhalten durch Umsetzung von Dimethylphosphit
oder Diethylphosphit oder Dipropylphosphiten oder
Dibutylphosphiten mit Triolen, bei denen je zwei OH-
Gruppen sich in 1,2- oder 1,3-Stellung zueinander be
finden, gegebenenfalls unter Mitverwendung von bezogen
auf ein Mol Triol 0 bis 10 Mol Diolen, deren organischer
Rest R und R1 entspricht, in Gegenwart von 0,01 bis 2
Gew.-% basischen Katalysatoren, vorzugsweise Alkali
carbonaten, besonders bevorzugt Kaliumcarbonat, wobei
zunächst bei Temperaturen von 100 bis 190°C die alipha
tischen Alkohole, die aus den Dialkylphosphiten gebildet
werden, vorzugsweise unter Normaldruck, abdestilliert
werden und dann, vorzugsweise unter vermindertem Druck
von 1 bis 100 mbar und Temperaturen von 100 bis 190°C,
Dialkylphosphit abdestilliert wird, wobei das molare
Verhältnis von Diphosphit zur Summe Triole + Diole 10 : 1
bis 3:1 beträgt.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Epoxide sind bekannt und
z. B. in Houben-Weyl, Methoden der organischen Chemie,
Georg-Thieme-Verlag 1987, Band E20/Teil 3, Seite 1891
bis 1993, beschrieben. Bevorzugt sind Glycidylether von
Di- oder Polyphenolen, wie z. B. Glycidylether von
Novolaken.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten ungesättigten Polyester
sind bekannt und z. B. in Houben-Weyl, Methoden der orga
nischen Chemie, Georg Thieme Verlag 1987, Band E20/Teil
2, Seite 1414 bis 1418 beschrieben. Bevorzugte Bausteine
für die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Polyester sind
Maleinsäureanhydrid, Fumarsäure, Neopentylglykol,
Adipol, Butylenglykol, Ethylenglykol, Diethylenglykol,
Phthalsäureanhydrid, Trimethylolpropan, Propylenglykol,
Trimethylolpropandiallylether, oder Adipinsäure, wobei
zumindest eine ungesättigte Komponente vorhanden sein
muß.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Acrylate oder Meth
acrylate von Di-Polyolen sind die Bisacrylate oder Bis
methacrylate von Adipol, Diethylenglykol, Butylenglykol,
Ethylenglykol oder die Trisacrylate oder Trismeth
acrylate von Trimethylolpropan, oder die Tetrakis
acrylate oder Tetrakismethacrylate von Pentaerythrit.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Oligophosphite sind leicht herzu
stellen und aufgrund der mäßigen Temperaturen, die bei
der Herstellung angewendet werden, ungefährlich.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Duromeren zeichnen sich durch eine
sehr helle Eigenfarbe aus.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zur Herstellung der
Duromeren erfolgt ohne Abspaltung flüchtiger Neben
produkte.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Duromere eignen sich zur Herstel
lung optischer Artikeln wie z. B. Lichtleiter, Elasto
meren und alle Zwecke, für die üblicherweise Duromere
eingesetzt werden.
Man mischt 200 g 2,2-Bis(4-hydroxyethyloxyphenyl)propan
(Dianol-22) mit 200 g Diethylphosphit und 1 g Kalium
carbonat. Man erhitzt 6 h auf 160°C, wobei u. a. Ethanol
abdestilliert. Dann wird Wasserstrahlvakuum angelegt und
2 h auf 12°C erhitzt, wobei Diethylphosphit abdestil
liert. Man erhält 241 g Oligophosphit.
Man mischt 500 g Polyethylenglykol der Molmasse
400 g/Mol mit 300 g Diethylphosphit und 2 g Kalium
carbonat. Man erhitzt 6 h auf 160°C, wobei u. a. Ethanol
abdestilliert. Dann wird Wasserstrahlvakuum angelegt und
2 h auf 120°C erhitzt, wobei Diethylphosphit abdestil
iert. Man erhält 585 g Oligophosphit.
Man mischt 1000 g Poly-Tetrahydrofuran der Molmasse
2000 g/Mol mit 300 g Diethylphosphit und 4 g Kalium
carbonat. Man erhitzt 6 h auf 16°C, wobei u. a. Ethanol
abdestilliert. Dann wird Wasserstrahlvakuum angelegt und
2 h auf 120°C erhitzt, wobei Diethylphosphit abdestil
liert. Man erhält 1090 g Oligophosphit.
Man mischt 135 g Trimethylolpropan mit 420 g Diethyl
phosphit und 2 g Kaliumcarbonat. Man erhitzt 6 h auf
160°C, wobei u. a. Ethanol abdestilliert. Dann wird
Wasserstrahlvakuum angelegt, wobei Diethylphosphit
angelegt und 2 h auf 120°C erhitzt, wobei Diethyl
phosphit abdestilliert. Man erhält 199 g verzweigtes
und/oder cyclische Gruppen enthaltende Oligophosphite.
Man mischt 173 g Dimerfettsäure, 294 g Maleinsäure
anhydrid, 212,4 g Adipol, 187,2 g Neopentylglykol, 0,3 g
Dibutylzinnoxid und 0,6 g Hydrochinon. Man erhitzt
30 Minuten auf 120°C, 1,5 h auf 160°C und 4,5 h auf
210°C, wobei u. a. Wasser abdestilliert. Man erhielt
722 g ungesättigten Polyester.
Man mischt 10 g Oligophosphit aus Beispiel 1a mit 10 g
ungesättigtem Polyester aus Beispiel 1b. Man erhitzt 3 h
auf 180°C, gab 50 mg einer 30-%igen Natriummethanolat
lösung in Methanol hinzu und erhitzte 5 h auf 180°C. Man
erhielt eine glasartige, unlösliche Masse mit einer
Glastemperatur von 11°C und einer Zersetzungstemperatur
von 369°C (Maximum der Zersetzung).
Man mischt 10 g Oligophosphit aus Beispiel 1a mit 6 g
Adipolbisacrylat, erhitzt auf 50°C gibt 0,5 g Trigonox
B (Initiator der Fa. Akzo) hinzu und erhitzt 0,5 h auf
10°C und 2 h auf 170°C. Man erhielt eine undurch
sichtige, weiße Duromermasse mit einer Glastemperatur
von 22°C und einer Zersetzungstemperatur von 361°C
(Maximum der Zersetzung).
Man mischt 10 g des Oligophosphits aus Beispiel 2a mit
10 g Araldit PY 307 (Novolakepoxid der Fa. Ciba), er
hitzt auf 160°C, gibt 50 mg einer 30-%igen Lösung von
Natriummethanolat in Methanol hinzu, erhitzt 1 h auf
16°C, gibt nochmal 50 mg der Natriummethanolatlösung
hinzu und erhitzt 30 min. auf 160°C. Man erhält eine
gummiartige, durchsichtige Masse der Glastemperatur
-21°C und einer Zersetzungstemperatur von 345°C.
Claims (5)
1. Duromere, die sich durch Reaktion von
- A) Oligophosphiten der Formel I,
wobei
R für einen C₂-C₄₄-Alkylenrest steht oder der Formel (II), (IV) oder (V) entspricht Ar für einen C₆-C₁₄-Arylenrest steht oder der Formel (III) entspricht worin
R1 für einen C1-C4-Alkylrest oder für Wasserstoff steht und die Reste R1gleich oder verschieden sein können,
R2 für einen C1-C12-Alkyliden-, einen C6- C12-Cycloalkyliden-, einen C2-C20- Alkylen-, einen araliphatischen, diva lenten C7-C26-Rest, ein Sauerstoffatom, eine Carbonylgruppe, ein Schwefelatome, eine Sulfongruppe oder eine chemische Bindung steht,
X für einen C1-C4-Alkylrest steht
m und p für natürliche Zahlen von 1 bis 200 stehen,
n für eine natürliche Zahl von 1 bis 20 steht,
oder von Oligophosphiten, erhältlich durch Reaktion von Dimethylphosphit oder Diethyl phosphit oder Dipropylphosphiten oder Dibutyl phosphiten mit Triolen, bei denen je zwei OH- Gruppen sich in 1,2- oder 1,3-Stellung zueinander befinden, gegebenenfalls unter Mitverwendung von Diolen, deren organischer Rest R oder R1 entspricht, wobei die so erhältlichen Oligophosphite Struktureinheiten der Formeln (VI), (VII), (VIII) oder (IX) enthalten und
R³ einem C₁-C₁₂-Alkylenrest entspricht, mit - B1) mehrfach ungesättigten Bausteinen wie ungesät tigten Polyestern, die als ungesättigte Bau steine vorzugsweise Maleinsäure- oder Fumar säureestereinheiten oder Allylethergruppen haltige Bausteine enthalten, oder Acrylaten oder Methacrylaten von Di- oder Polyolen, oder durch Reaktion von Oligophosphiten A mit
- B2) di- oder polyfunktionellen Epoxiden erhältlich sind,
wobei für jedes Phosphitäquivalent 0,7 bis 5
Äquivawente an Doppelbindungen oder Epoxygruppen
eingesetzt werden.
2. Verfahren zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen
Duromere, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Gemische
aus Oligophosphit A und mehrfach ungesättigten Bau
steinen B1) mit 0 bis 5 Gew.-% an basischen Kataly
satoren, wie z. B. Hydroxiden, Carbonaten oder C1-
C5-Alkoholaten von Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetallen
oder mit 0 bis 5 Gew.-% an Initiatoren für Radikal
reaktionen, wie z. B. Azoverbindungen oder Peroxy
verbindungen, wobei die basischen Katalysatoren nur
für ungesättigte Polyester mit, Maleinsäure- oder
Fumarsäureestereinheiten wirksam sind, oder die
Gemische aus den Oligophosphiten A) und Epoxiden
B2) mit 0 bis 5 Gew.-% an basischen Katalysatoren,
wie z. B. Hydroxiden, Carbonaten oder Alkoholaten
von Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetallen 0,1 bis 10 h bei
Temperaturen von 80°C bis 220°C gehärtet werden.
3. Oligophosphite, erhalten durch Umsetzung von Diolen
deren organischer Rest R oder R1 entspricht mit der
doppelt- bis zehnfachmolaren Menge an Dimethylphos
phit, Diethylphosphit, Dipropylphosphiten oder Di
butylphosphiten in Gegenwart von 0,01 bis 2 Gew.-%
basischen Katalysatoren, vorzugsweise Alkalicarbo
naten, besonders bevorzugt Kaliumcarbonat, wobei
zunächst bei Temperaturen von 100 bis 190°C die
aliphatischen Alkohole, die aus den Dialkylphos
phiten gebildet werden, gegebenenfalls Überdruck,
abdestilliert werden und dann, gegebenenfalls unter
vermindertem Druck von 1 bis 100 mbar und Tempera
turen von 100 bis 190°C, Dialkylphosphit abdestil
liert wird.
4. Oligophosphite, erhalten durch Umsetzung von Di
methylphosphit oder Diethylphosphit oder Dipropyl
phosphiten oder Dibutylphosphiten mit Triolen, bei
denen je zwei OH-Gruppen sich in 1,2- oder 1,3-
Stellung zueinander befinden, gegebenenfalls unter
Mitverwendung von bezogen auf ein Mol Triol 0 bis
10 Mol Diolen, deren organischer Rest R oder R1
entspricht, in Gegenwart von 0,01 bis 2 Gew.-%
basischen Katalysatoren, wobei zunächst bei
Temperaturen von 100 bis 190°C die aliphatischen
Alkohole, die aus den Dialkylphosphiten gebildet
werden, abdestilliert werden und dann bei Tempe
raturen von 100 bis 190°C, Dialkylphosphit ab
destilliert wird, wobei das molare Verhältnis von
Diphosphit zur Summe Triole + Diole 10:1 bis 3:1
beträgt.
