Sohle an den von ihnen erfaßten Stellen stahlhart, steif und unnachgiebig machen.
An der einlagenfreien Biegestelle i behält die Sohle dagegen ihre natürliche Geschmeidigkeit.
Als Einlagematerial wird vorteilhaft sogenanntes Transparent- (Schweins-) Leder
verwendet, das man zuerst kocht, dann erkaltet und verarbeitet und das nach dieser
Behandlung eisenhart wird, ohne spröde zu werden oder zu brechen. Die Bodensohle
ist durch eine Holzstiftenreihe i an der Zwischensohle befestigt. Um die Beweglichkeit
der Biegestelle nicht zu schädigen, ist die Holzstiftenreihe, wie aus Abb.2 ersichtlich,
hier unterbrochen; dafür ist die zweifache Handnaht k, die das Oberleder mit der
Brandsohle verbindet, an der Biegestelle durch eine dreifache Handnaht

ersetzt, die den festen Zusammenhalt gewährleistet. Der Absatzlt ist mit
-einer Gummideckplatte m verkleidet. Der Stiefelboden besitzt ferner einen Gleitschutz,
der im Ausführungsbeispiel an der vorderen Stirnseite des Absatzes angebracht ist.
Er besteht aus einer um einen Bolzen n scharnierartig umlegbaren, gegebenenfalls
etwas unter Spannung stehenden Platte o, die mit Zacken versehen ist. Bei Nichtbrauch
