Abstract

The branch line connection clamp has a main clamp jaw (2) fitted around the main conductor (14) of the HV cable for penetrating the cable insulation. A secondary clamp jaw (5) receives the branch line (16). The main body of both clamp jaws (2, 5) is made of a pressure-resistant plastic. The two jaws are joined together via a bridge section (13) in which an isolated coupling rail (4) is embedded. Each clamp jaw (2, 5) has a central reception channel (17, 26) and a contact screw (10, 12). The latter is screwed downwards into contact with the inserted conductor (14, 16). The clamp is pref. enclosed by a protective sleeve providing protection against e.g. bad weather.
