out of the way of the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine The separation of an exhaust gas catalytic converter
out of the way of the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine should the use of the internal combustion engine
Even without damaging the catalytic converter, catalytic converters enable cleaning
the exhaust gases from internal combustion engines have long been known. These catalysts can
however, cannot be used in internal combustion engines that run on leaded fuel
are driven . Requirement for the use of exhaust gas catalytic converters
is the use of unleaded gasoline for the internal combustion engines The task is
now in enabling combustion engines and exhaust systems, even without damage
of the catalytic converter with lead-containing or similar, which is damaging to the catalytic converter
Fuel to work The solution to this problem is a switch that is on
the path of the exhaust gases from the engine to the catalytic converter The exhaust pipe leads to this switch
coming from the engine and directs the exhaust gases there. Lead away from this switch
two pipes: one towards the catalytic converter, the other bypassing the catalytic converter. the
The switch closes one of the exits. So either is the exit to the catalytic converter
closed or the pipe to the bypassing the catalyst. The entrance from
Motor is always open and only one of the two outputs should be open
(except when switching) So, if only fuel is available,
which would damage the catalyst, the switch can be set so that the output
to the catalytic converter is closed and the catalytic converter so from the damaging it
Exhaust gases is protected, while the exhaust gases are passed on through the pipe that is tongue-in-cheek
will.
vom Motor benutzt wird , dessen Rückst'nde dem Katalysator schaden würdenIf there is fuel available again that does not damage the catalytic converter, the switch can be set again and the exhaust gases are fed back to the catalytic converter. The exit to the pipe bypassing the catalytic converter is now closed This prevents the exhaust gases from reaching the environment uncleaned. The materials p required for the construction of the exhaust gas switch and bypass pipe correspond to those customary in mechanical engineering. The shape, size and properties of the catalytic converter are irrelevant for the functioning and usefulness of the exhaust gas diverter, as long as the properties of the catalytic converter do not make the exhaust diverter superfluous Exhaust gas diverter or behind the catalytic converter The exhaust gas diverter is particularly useful in motor vehicles, as when changing location or moving a long distance, it is most likely (and frequently) to come to areas in which another than the one usually used Fuel is the only one available. The exhaust gas switch such as the muffler and catalytic converter can also be attached to the floor of the vehicle. Most practical is the installation of the muffler in front of the exhaust gas switch (W). From there, the exhaust gases (A) are either directed to the catalytic converter (K) or into the pipe (U) that bypasses the catalytic converter. At the end, the exhaust gases from unleaded petrol exit the pipe leading away from the catalytic converter, while the exhaust gases generated by the use of fuels that damage the catalytic converter exit the bypass pipe (U). correctly forwards lead-free exhaust gases (ABf) according to the appropriate setting, closes one (and always only one) of the two outlets and forwards the exhaust gases through the other and in which a flap can be moved in such a way that it can close either one outlet or the other, but never both at the same time and never the inlet of the exhaust gases. This flap has its hinge between the two outlets and is additionally pressed on by the flow of exhaust gases (W1). With another option to build the exhaust gas switch (W2), the round inner profile of the exhaust pipes is also retained in the switch. A junction is followed by a plate that crosses the flow of exhaust gases movable either one or the other other exit completely closed. Since the plate overlaps the profile of the respective pipe, a good seal is ensured even without the use of rubber parts. This is an important fact, as the use of rubber or similar materials is very difficult in connection with the high temperatures of the exhaust system. The practical handling of converting an exhaust gas switch can be done with the first type (WI) by turning a lever, with the second type ( W2) this movement is straight. In relation to a car, this lever could be on the floor of the trunk (safe from being painted by malicious contemporaries) or on the floor of the passenger cell - depending on the frame of the exhaust gas switch under the car. If you love manual switching, you can of course also arrange for the slide or the flap to be moved by an engine, which seems more convenient and advisable in view of the high temperatures of the exhaust system or the possibility of completely emptying one of them. This is necessary to ensure that after the switch has been set to conduct the exhaust gases through the catalytic converter, no fuel is used by the engine, the residues of which would damage the catalytic converter
