Die Erfindung betrifft neue Metallsalze der Gruppe II für die Verwendung in Schmierölgemischen, und insbesondere
die Verwendung bestimmter Gruppe-II-Metallsalze
als Eostinhibitoren in Schmierölgemischen.
Kraft^fahrzeugschmieröle werden sowohl zum Schmieren
als auch als Träger für Zusatzstoffe verwendet, die dem Schutz der geschmierten Oberflächen gegen schädliche Einwirkungen
des Kostens und der Korrosion sowie der Lackabscheidung
dienen. Ein wichtiges Mittel zur Inhibition von Rost und Korrosion steht mit der schnellen Neutralisierung
von Säureprodukten der Ül- und Brennstoffoxidation durch Schmierölzusatzstoffe oder Kombinationen von
Zusatzstoffen in Zusammenhang.

Die Gruppe-II-AIetallsalze der Erfindung sind Salze:
(A) einer öllöslichen Hydrocarbylsulfosäure und
(B) einer poly(oxyalkylen)ierten Schwefelsäure mit einem Molekulargewicht im Bereich von etwa 500 bis etwa 5000.
Für die Bereitung von vorteilhafteren Schmierölen sind die Metallsalze dieser Gruppe II brauchbar. Sie sorgen
für eine schnelle Neutralisierung der wässrigen Säure und für den Hostschutz in Verbrennungsmotoren.
Die Schmierölzusammensetzung nach der Erfindung umfaßt im breitesten Sinne ein schmierviskoses Öl und einen
Rostinhibitor-Zusatz der Gruppe-II-Metallsalze.
Die Gruppe-II-Metallsalze nach der Erfindung sind gemischte
Salze einer öllöslichen Hydrocarbylsulfosäure und einer poly(oxyalkylen)ierten Schwefelsäure mit einem
Molekulargewicht im Bereich von etwa 500 bis 5OCG.(Im vorliegenden
Wird unter dem Rest "Hydrocarbyl" ein Kohlenwasserstoffrest verstanden).
Die öllösliche Hydrocarbylsulfosäure umfaßt eine Sulfosäure,
deren Salz im Schnierölgemisch als Detergens oder Dispersionsmittel
verwendbar ist. Vorzugsweise wird als Sulfosäure eine Erdölsulfosäure, eine Polyalkylbenzolsulfosäure oder eine PoIyalkensulfosäure
verwendet. (Im folgenden wird der Ausdruck "Petrolsulfosäure" synonym mit "Erdölsulfosäure" gebraucht.)
Die öllösliche Hydrocarbylsulfosäuren umfassen diejenigen Säuren, die aus den Sulfonaten gebildet werden können,
die aus den als Nebenprodukt bei der Herstellung von Weißöl anfallenden Mahagonisäuren, d.h. den mahagonigefärbten
Fetrolsulfosäuren, abgeleitet werden.

Die Polyalkylbenzolsulfonate werden abgeleitet von langkettigen alkylsubstituierten Benzolen, hauptsächlich
den Polydodecylbenzol-Rückständen, erhalten als Nebenprodukte bei der Herstellung von Haushaitdetergentien.
Die Bereitung von Polyakylbenzolsulfonaten und ihre Verwendung im Schmierölen wird in der belgischen Patentschrift
629 945, den US-Patentschriften 2 924 617 und
2 982 726 sowie der britischen Patentschrift 844- 335
offenbart.
Die Polyalkensulfonate sind polyolefinabgeleitete Sulfonate, die z.B. durch Behandeln eines Polyolefins mit
Chlorsulfοsäure, Schwefeltrioxid und Chlorwasserstoff,
Schwefelsäure, Schwefelsäure mit SO,, SO^, SO2 und Sauerstoff
usw. bereitet werden können· Ein typisches Beispiel des Polyisobutenylsulfonats wird in der britischen
Patentschrift 1 246 545 offenbart, bei dessen Herstellung
Polyisobutylen mit einem durchschnittlichen Molekulargewicht von 950 zunächst chloriert und dann mit Chlorsulf
osäure, Kalziumoxid und Äthylenglykol behandelt wird, um ein Kalziumpolyisobutenylsulfonat zu ergeben.
Die polyoxyalkylenierte Schwefelsäure (oder deren Salz),
die bei der Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Salze verwendet werden, weisen nach der Culfatierung ein gesamtes
Molekulargewicht vcn etwa 500 bis etwa 500C auf. Die
bevorzugten Ausführungsformen werden als Alkohole oder
aromatische Hydroxyverbindungen, von denen sie abgeleitet sind, als oxyalkylenierter Alkohol oder davon abstammende
oxyalkylenierte aromatische Hydroxyverbindungen, oder als

Schwefelsäure beschrieben, die als solche oder als deren Salz eines der Substrate ist, welche zur Bildung des
gemischten Salzes nach der Erfindung verwendet werden.
Die oxyalkyl enierten Alkohole und aromatischen Hydroxyverbindungen,
die zur Herstellung der zusätzlichen Rostinhibitoren nach der Erfindung sulfatiert werden können,
sind von Hydroxyverbindungen abgeleitet, die im wesentlichen aliphatische Verbindungen,wie ein- und mehrwertige
Alkohole,oder hauptsächlich aromatische (Hydroxy-)
Verbindungen ,wie substituierte Phenole sind. Die aromatischen
Hydroxyverbindungen, von denen die oxyalylenierten Sulfate nach der Erfindung abgeleitet sein können, lassen
sich als Verbindungen wie Phenol , Cyclohexylphenol ,
Di(hydroxyphyl)disulfide, Di(hydroxyphenyl)sulfide,
Di(hydroxyphenyl)oxide, als Kondensationsprodukt von
Octylphenol mit Aceton, Benzylalkohol, als Kondensationsprodukt von Heptylphenol mit Formaldehyd, polyisobutensubstituiertes
Phenol mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 1000, Xylylenglykol, 4,4' - Methylen-Bis-Phenol,
Didodecylphenol, Propylen^tetramer-substituiertes Phenol,
2,4-Dibutylphenol, 2-Chlorphencl ,i-ihyaroxybiphenyl,
Catechin, üesorcin und Cresol darstellen. Phenol und alkylierte Phenole mit bis zu 3 Alkylsubstituenten
werden hierbei bevorzugt. Jeder der Alkylsubstituenten
kann 1 bis 11 oder mehr Kohlenstoffatome aufweisen.
Der Alkohol, von dem die oxyalkyfenierten Sulfate abgeleitet
sein können, ist ein C^ - C^~ aliphatischer Alkohol,
vorzugsweise ein Alkohol mit etwa 1-20 Kohlenstoffatomen und 0-10 Stickstoffatomen, z.B. Aminoalkanole.

Sie können einwertige Alkohole wie Methanol, Äthanol, Isooctanol, Dodecanol, Cyclohexanol, Cyclopentanol,
Neoptiitylalkohol, Isobutylalkohol, 2-Methylcyclohexanol,
beta-Chloräthanol, Monomethyläther des Äthylenglykols,
Monobutyläther des Äthylenglykols, Monopropyläther des Diäthylenglykols, Monodecyläther des Triäthylenglykols,
das Monooleat des Äthylenglykols, ITonostearat des Diäthylenglykols, sec.-Pentylglykols, Monostearat
des Diäthylenglykols, seor-l entylalkohol, tert.-Butylalkohol,
Bromodecano1, Nitrooktadecanol, Aminoäthanol
und Dioleat des Glycerins sein. Die mehrwertigen Alkohole weisen 2 bis etwa 10 Hydroxygruppen auf und lassen
sich beispielsweise darstellen durch Polyole wie Äthylenglykol, Diäthylenglykol, Triäthylenglykol, Tetraäthylenglykol,
Dipropylenglykol, Tripopylenglykol, Dibutylenglykolj-ributylenglykol und weitere Alkenglykole,
in denen das Alkylenradikal von 2 bis etwa 8 Kohlenstoff atome aufweist. V/eitere brauchbare mehrwertige
Alkohole sind z.B. Glycerin, das Monooleat des Glycerins, Monostearat des Glycerinß, der Monomethylather des Glycerins,
Pentaerythrit , 9,10-Dihydroxystearinsäui<e, der Methyläther
der O/ilO-Dihydroxystearinsäure, 1,2-Butar^ciiol, 2,3-Hexan^diol,
Pinacol, Erythrit , Arabit , Sorbit ., Mannit und 1^-Cyclohexanediol.
Die Aminoalkohole enthalten et?/a 1-10 Stickstoffatome
einschließlich der aminoalkylen- und aminoarylensubstituierten Alkohole. Als Beispiele lassen sich anführen
Aminoäthanol, 3-Aminoäthyleapentanol, Di(hydroxyäthyl)
amin, p-Aminophenol, Tri(hydroxypropyl)amin, N-Hydroxyäthyl-gthylendiamin,
N,N,N1 ,N1 -Tetrahyäroxätr.yl-triethylendiamin
und Ν,Ν,Ν1 ,N'-Tetrahydroxyäthji-äthylendiamin.
Die bevorzugten Aminoalkohole sind Aminoalkanole, die
1 bis 4 Hydroxygruppen, 1 bis 10 Stickstoffatome und etwa 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten.

Lie entsprechenden Thiole für jeden der oben genannten
Alkohole und aromatischen Hydroxyverbindungen sind ebenfalls zur Anfertigung der Zusammensetzungen im Rahmen
der Erfindung verwendbar.
Die bevorzugten Sulfate stammen von polyoxyalkylenierten
Alkohclar, die vor der Oxyalkylenierung 1 bis etwa 20
Kohlenstoffatome aufweisen. Zum größten Teil wird jedoch den Poly'(oxyalkylen)-alkoholen mit etwa bis zu 15O Oxyalkylenresten,
in denen die Alkylengruppe 2 bis zu etwa 8 Kohlenstoff atome enthalten, der Vorzug gegeben.
Der Poly<(°xyalkylen)-alkohol bzw. das -phenyl kann ein PoIyoxyäthylen,
Polyoxypropylen oder Polyoxyäthylen/Polyoxypropylen-Copolymerisat
wie Polyoxyäthylenpolyoxypropylen-Blockcopolymer-Alkohole,
Glykole und Glykoläther sein. Die Anzahl der Oxyalkyleneinheiten in einem gegebenen
Polyoxyalkylenalkohol oder -phenol variiert, jedoch fällt das durchschnittliche Gesamtmolekulargewicht der
Zusammensetzung in den Bereich von etwa 5OO bis etwa
5OOO nach der Sulfatierung.
Insbesondere wird den Polyoxyäthylen/Polyoxypropylen-Blockcopolymerisäten
der Vorzug gegeben. Derartige Kopolymerisate sind "amphipathisch", da ihre Struktur zwei
unähnliche Gruppen umfaßt, z.B. Wasser solubilisierende Oxyäthylengruppen und die hydrophoberen Oxypropylengruppen.
Hinzu kommt, daß die Zusammensetzungen nach der Erfindung auch die anionische Sulfatgruppe umfassen,
von der man ebenfalls hydrophile Eigenschaften annimmt. Die Zusammensetzung, Solubilität, Eigenschaften,
Stellung, Beziehung und relativen Prozentgehalte dieser unähnlichen Anteile im Verhältnis zur gesamten Molekulargestalt
kann dazu dienen ihre relative Wirksamkeit als Zusatzinhibitoren gegen Rost, Korrosion und Lack-

abtragung zu bestimmen, und hieraus ergibt sich auch
der Vorzug für ein besonderes Sulfat.
Obgleich die Bildung einer Trübung im allgemeinen keine nachteilige Auswirkung auf die Schmiereigenschaften
des versetzten Öls hat, so wird eine derartige Trübung jedoch als Ausgangspunkt möglicher Probleme, z.B.
verstopfender Filter, angesehen. Demzufolge sind die weitaus bevorzugten Sulfate nach der Erfindung die,
welche bei normalen Konzentrationen als Zusatzrostinhibitoren keine Trübung im vollversetzten öl hervorrufen.
Die meistbevorzugten Poly(oxyalkylen)-alkohole enthalten
etwa 10 - 90 Gewichtsprozent Oxyäthyleneinheiten sowie
etwa 90-10 Gewichtsprozent Oxypropyleneinheiten.
Die Alkohole oder aromatischen Hydroxyverbindungen sind durch bekannte Mittel wie durch die Reaktion mit Äthylenoxid
und/oder Propylenoxid oxyalkyleniert oder poly(oxyalkylen)iert.
Die bevorzugten Alkohole gehören den C1- bis C2Q-Alkoholen wie Butanol, Oktanol usw. oder als
Alternative zu den Hydroxyderivaten natürlich vorkommender Stoffe wie Lauryl, Stearyl- und Myristylalkohol oder
Mischungen aus diesen. Die Wahl der bevorzugten aromatischen Hydroxyverbindungen fällt auf Phenol und C,- bis C_nalkylsubstituierte
Phenole , wobei alkylsubstituierte Phenole mit C1-C17 meistbevorzugt sind. ■
Die meistbevorzugten Alkohole sind die C^- bis C2n-Polyole
mit etwa 2 bis 4 Hydroxgruppen, z.B. Diole oder Glykole,
Glycerine oder Triole sowie vierwertige Alkohole wie Pentaerythrit . Die besonders bevorzugten Zusatzrostinhibitoren
stammen erfindungsgemäß von den Sulfaten der Poly(oxyalkylen)-polyole, die 2-20 Kohlenstoffatome vor der

Oxyalkylenierung sowie von 2 bis Ί Hydroxylgruppen und
ein Gesamtmolekulargewicht nach der Sulfierung von etwa 500 bis etwa 5000 auf v/eisen.
Unter die bevorzugten C^- bis C2Q-Polyole fallen auch
1,2-Glykole, 1,3-Glykole und (alpha, omega)~Glykole.
Besonders bevorzugte Zusammensetzung werden gewählt
aus der Gruppe der polyoxyalkyienierten Glykole, Glycerine oder Pentaerythrit mit Molekulargewichten von
etwa 500 bis etwa 5000.
Die Herstellung der polyoxyalkylenierten Sulfatsalze oder
Schwefelsäuren zur erfindungsgemäßen Verwendung sind in der deutschen Patentanmeldung P 25 58 201.8 beschrieben,
auf die hiermit verwiesen wird.
Die. Salze nach der Erfindung sind Gruppe-II-Metallsalze
vorzugsweise Kalzium-, Barium- oder Magnesiumsalze, wobei von diesen Kalzium-oder Magnesium-und von diesen wiederum
Kalzium^salze bevorzugt werden.
Obgleich durch diese Beschreibung keine Begrenzung beabsichtigt ist, umfassen die erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetz
ungen wahrscheinlich ein komplexes Gemisch aus wenigstens drei Bestandteilen nämlich:
-Gruppe-II-Metallsalze einer öllöslichen Hydrocarbylsulfosäure,
-Gruppe-II-Metallsalze einer polyoxyalkylenierten
Schwefelsäure und
-ein Hybridsalz, möglicherweise mit der Strukturformel

Die erfindungsgemäßen Salze werden dadurch bereitet, daß ein Gemisch eines Gruppe-I-Metall", eines Ammonium-
oder anderen unbeständigen oalzes, wie z.S. des Triäthylammoniumsalzes
der Schwefelsäure aus dem oben erwähnten poly-.
aromatischen oxyakylenierten Alkohol oder der polyoxyalkylenierten\Hydroxyver-
bindung mit einer öllöslichen Hydrocarbylsulfosäure in
Gegenwart eines anorganischen Gruppe-II-Metallsalzes
in Reaktion gebracht wird. Vorzugsweise ist das Metallsalz
ein Halogenid, z.B. Kaliumchlorid, Bariumchlorid usw· Das Molverhältnis der Reagentien bei diesen Verfahren
beträgt gewöhnlich 1,0 - 2,0 Mol der Hydrocarbylsulfosäure zu etwa 1,0 - 2,5 Mol eines anorganischen
Gruppe-II-Metallsalzes 0,8-1,2 Mol des
erwähnten Sulfats. Vorzugsweise werden 1,0 - 1,7 Mol Hydrocarbylsulfosäuresalz mit etwa 1 Mol des Sulfats
und 1 Mol des anorganischen Gruppe-II-Metallsalzes zur Reaktion gebracht.
Diese Reaktion kann in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels durchgeführt werden, das der Reaktion gegenüber inert
ist, z.B. Isobutylalkohol und andere aliphatischen Alkohole. Das Sulfosäuresalz wird normalerweise dem Reaktionsgemisch als Petroleumöllösung beigemengt. Die Reaktion
wird normalerweise bei einer temperatur von 25° bis 100°C unter atmosphärischem Druck durchgeführt. Es können
jedoch nach Wunsch auch höhere oder niedrigere Drücke angewendet werden. Für gewöhnlich ist der Reaktionsvor-

gang nach etwa 1 bis 10 Stunden beendet.
Die Verbindungen nach der Erfindung können in einem öl, das eine zum Schmieren geeignete Viskosität aufweist,
entweder allein als Rostinhibitor oder kombiniert mit 2 oder mehr Inhibitoren sowie mit handelsüblichen
^ostinhibitoren verwendet werden. Das Schmieröl kann ein beliegiges verhältnismäßig inertes und
stabiles flüssigem Medium mit einer als Schmiermittel
geeigneten Viskosität sein. Derartige Schmiermittel weisen im allgemeinen eine Viskosität von 35-50.000
Saybolt-Universalsekunden (SUS) bei 38°C (2,5 bis 10 800 Centistok^ auf. Das Schmiermittel oder -öl kann entweder
natürlichen oder synthetischen Ursprungs sein· Unter den natürlichen Kohlenwasserstoffölen gibt es
Öle auf Paraffin-jiTapthen- oder Gemischtbasis. Synthetische
öle umfassen Polymere verschiedener Olefine, im allgemeinen von 2 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen, alkylierte
aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe usw. Nichtkohlenwasserstofföle umfassen Polyalkylenoxide, Carboxylate,
Phosphate, aromatische Äther, Silicone usw. Die bevorzugten Medien sind sowohl die natürlichen als
auch synthetischen Kohlenwasserstoffmedien. Bevorzugt
werden diejenigen kohlenwasserstoffhaltigen öle, die eine Viskosität von etwa 100 - 4000 SUS bei 38°C
(21 bis 870 Centistota§> aufweisen. Die Verträglichkeit
der erfindungsgemäßen Zusätze innerhalb des Schmiermediums zeichnet sich unter anderem dadurch aus, daß keine
Trübung auftritt.
Die Schmieröle sind mit 75 Gewichtsprozent oder darüber im endgültigen Schmiermittelgemenge vertreten. Als Konzentrate
kann das öl jedoch mit einem prozentualen Gewichtsanteil
von 5 bis 75% vertreten sein. Diese Konzen-

träte werden vor ihrer Verwendung mit zusätzlichem Öl
verdünnt, so daß sich die gewünschte Konzentration der darin enthaltenden Zusätze ergibt.
Die Gruppe-II-Metollsalze nach der Erfindung sind in
dem Schmierölgemisch mit einem rostinhibierenden Anteil enthalten, der gewöhnlich bei etwa 10 ppm bis
etwa 10 000 ppm und vorzugsweise bei 50 - 100 ppm bis
etwa 5000 ppm liegt.
Ein bevorzugtes Schmierölgemisch wird ausreichend Alkalimetallkarbonat
enthalten, das im Kohlenwasserstofföl dispergiert ist, um eine Alkalität von 0,5 - 100 mg KOH/g
zu ergeben. Die Alkalimetallkarbonate sind Magnesium·», Kalzium- und Bariumkarbonate, vorzugsweise Kalzium- und
Bariumkarbonat.
Geringe Mengen der Metallhydroxide können vorhanden sein,
des Erd die jedoch gewöhnlich nicht mehr als etwa 20 % des Alkalitätswe*tes\
alkalimetallgemenges ausmachen. Diese Verbindungen könnenmit
bekannten Dispersionsmittelzusätzen, wie SuIfonat-, Fhenolat- und Succinimidzusätzen, dispereiert sein.
Es ist erwünscht darüber hinaus auch noch weitere bekannte Zusätze der Zusammensetzung zuzugeben, worunter Rost- und
Korrosionsinhibitoren, Antioxidantien, Ölungsmittel (oiliness agents), Detergentien, Dispergentien, AbnutzungsschutzF.it
tel, Zusätze zur Verbesserung" des ViskositätsindeXes
sowie den Fließpunkt erniedrigende Mittel fallen.Gewöhnlich werden derartige Einzelzusätze nur zu einem prozentualen
Gewichtsanteil von 0-5%, allgemeiner noch mit einem derartigen
Anteil von 0-2% vertreten sein. Typische ergänzende Zusätze dieser Art umfassen in der erfindungsge-

mäßen Zusammensetzung Alkylsuccinimid-dispersionsmittel,
Phenol- und Arylaminantioxidantien sowie Zinkdihydrocarbyldithiophosphate·
Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen
Salze und ihre Verwendung in Schmierölen.
In einen Dreihalskolben von 1 Liter wurden 200ml Aceton
und 97»'ι g Sulfamsäure gefüllt. Dieses Gemisch wurde
unter Umrühren unter Rückfluß erwärmt, worauf ^75 g Pluronic
L-51 (Polyoxyäthylen-Polyoxypropylen-Blockcopolymerisat-Diol
auf Basis von Propylenglykol mit einem Gesamtmolekulargewicht von etwa 1000 und einem Anteil von etwa
10-14 Gewichtsprozent Oxyäthylen-und als Kest Oxyproylengruppen)
beigemischt wurden Aceton wurde abdestilliert
,bis die -^ckstände eine Temperatur von 100°C erreichten.
Es wurden über Kopf 153 ml des Materials abgezogen, und 47 ml verblieben im Gefäß. Der "Kühler" wurde nach oben gedreht und weiter bei 1000C bei leichtem
Eückfluß in Betrieb gehalten. Beim Verdicken der Flüssigkeit bestand die Tendenz, daß sich die Temperatur
erhöhte, und daß weniger Fließmittel zurückströmte. Sas Reaktionsgemisch wurde 4 Stunden lang bei einer Temperatur
von 1000O gehalten und danach 15 Minuten lang
unter Vakuum gestrippt und mit einem Toluolvolumen verdünnt sowie durch Diatomeenerde filtriert.

Das Produkt wurde bei einer Temperatur von 100°C und bei 1mm Hg gestrippt. In einem Dreihalskolben mit 1
Liter Fassungsvermögen wurden 300g des nach dem im
obigen Absatz geschilderten Verfahren hergestellten Produkts eingefüllt, ^ann wurden 35g Natriumhydroxid
als 50,8 prozentige Lösung in .Yasser beigemengt, -^ine
Benzolmenge vmrde hinzugefügt, und das Gemisch wurde
azeotrop destilliert, bis es trocken war. Das Produkt wurde durch Diatomeenerde filtriert und bis zu 85°C bei 1,5 mm
Hg gestrippt. Das Produkt ist das Natrium-poly(oxyalkylen)-sulfat.
In einen 1 Liter-Kolben unter Stickstoff wurden 475 g Pluronic L-31 gegeben, fiem wurden 100 ml Aceton und
97»1 g Sulfamsäure beigemengt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde 4 1/4 Stunden bis auf eine maximale Temperatur von 83,3°C unter Piückfluß erwärmt. Eine Toluolmenge wurde hinzugefügt
und des Reaktionsgemisch filtriert und gestrippt. Die Ausbeute war 526 g des Produktes. In einem Dreihalskolben wurden
50 ml Triäthylamin und 200 ml Benzol 150 g des nach obigen Ausführungen hergestellten Produktes beigemengt.
Das Gemisch wurde gründlich umgerührt und über Nacht unter langsamen Stickstoffstrom stehen
gelassen. Das Gemisch wurde dann 9 Stunden lang unter Rückfluß erwärmt, gestrippt bis zu 8O0C bei 1 mm Hg, und ergab

390-sulfonat (eine synthetische schwer alkylierte

die durchschnittliche Anzahl Kohlenstoffatome im Molekül 21 ist) versetzt. Das Gemisch
wurde mit 1 Volumen Isobutylalkohol verdünnt und ir.it 300 ml 0,5 η Natriumhydroxid versetzt.
Hierauf wurde das Gemisch bei leichtem Rückfluß 30 Minuten lang gerührt, wonach 100 ml 1,0 ro
Kalziumchlorid hinzugefügt wurden. Das Gemisch wurde azeotrop destilliert, bis das abgeschiedene Wasser keine starke
Basizität mehr aufwies. Die wässrige Phase wurde abgetrennt und verworfen. Die verbleibende Lösung wurde
in den Kolben zurückgegeben und 200 ml einer 1 molaren Kalziumchloridlösung wurden zugefügt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde bei leichtem Rückfluß eine Stunde lang gerührt. Das Wasser wurde abgeschieden und verworfen . Daraufhin
wurde das Reaktionsgemisch nochmals mit 200 ml einer 1 molaren Kalziumchloridlösung behandelt und bei leichtem
Rückfluß eine Stunde lang gerührt, worauf die wässrige Schicht abgetrennt und verworfen wurde. Das Produkt
wurde 2 mal mit 400 ml V/asser gewaschen, über Drierit
getrocknet, filtriert und 30 Minuten lang bei 1,5 mm Hg
bis auf eine Rückstandstemperatur von 90°C gestrippt.
Das sich ergebende Salz ist eine äußerst viskose Flüssigkeit
mit einem starken Ik-Peak bei etwa 1120 cm Das Salz wurde in^itcon 30 Neutralör mit einer Konzentration
von 30,1 °/o gegeben. Dieses Schmierölkonzentrat
des Salzes enthält 1,68 % Kalzium und 0,012% Natrium.
84,2 g des nach Beispiel 1 hergestellten Natriumsalzes wurden in einem 1 Lite^-üreihalskolben mit 127 r, Natrium-SHA-390
sulfonat und 1 Volumen Isobutylalkohol versetzt.

Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde unter Umrühren erhitzt und 250 ml des 1 Mol-Kalziumchlorids sowie 100 ml
Wasser wurden beigemengt. Eine Stunde lang wurde das Reaktionsgemisch bei Rückfluß gerührt, in einen
Scheidetrichter dekantiert und die Wasserschicht entfernt. Die Beimengung von Kalziumchlorid und Wasser
mit nachfolgendem Entfernen des Wassers in einem Scheidetrichter wurde zweimal wiederholt. Daraufhin wurde
das Reaktionsgemisch dreimal mit 200 ml Wasser gewaschen und unter Vakuum gestrippt . Die Ausbeute war 132 g
des Produkts mit 1,97 % Ca und 0,03 % Na.
1200 g Pluronic L-31 und 400 ml Aceton wurden in einen
2 Liter Dreihalskolben gegeben. Die Lösung wurde trocken gestrippt und 210 ml Aceton wurden beigemengt, so daß
die Rückflußtemperatur 940O betrug. Dann wurden dieser
Lösung 246 g 99%ige Sulfamsäure hinzugefügt. Das
Gemisch wurde bei leichtem Rückfluß über Nacht gerührt und dann das Aceton bei halben Vakuum auf HO0C Rückstandstemperatur
abgestrippt. Das Produkt wurde in Toluol gelöst, gefiltert und gestrippt. Das Resultat war ein
strahlend schwarzes Produkt.
g des nach obiger Ausführung angefertigten Produkts wurden in einen 2 Liter Dreihalskolben gegeben und mit
1 Volumen sec.-Butanols verdünnt. Dem Gemisch wurden 0,30 Mol NaOH (23,7 g als 50,8%ige Lösung in Wasser)
und 3I8 g Natrium -ZlIk 39C-sulfonat beigemengt. Das
Reaktionsgemisch wurde durchgerührt und auf Rückfluß erwärmt. Während des Rückflußes wurde V/asser entfernt
und dann 250 ml der wässrigen 1,0 Mol-f'agnesiumchloridhexahydratlösung
sowie 100 ml Toluol Lxnzugegeben. Nach

2stündigem Rückfluß wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in einen Scheidetrichter gegeben. Die Wasserschicht wurde
abgetrennt und verworfen. Dem Restreaktionsgemisch wurden 250 ml der 1,0 Hol Magnesiumchloridlösurrr beigemengt.
Nach einstündigem Rückfluß des Gemischs wurde das Vfeeser
wiederum abgetrennt und dekantiert. 250 ml der 1,0 Mol
Magnesiumchloridlösung wurden erneut hinzugefügt und wiederum ein Rückfluß von einer Stunde durchgeführt.
Die wässrige Phase wurde abgetrennt und abgegossen, worauf das Produkt dreimal mit 400 ml Wasser gewaschen
wurde. Das Produkt wurde unter Vakum gestrippt und ergab ein sehr viskoses Material, das 1,05% Mg und 0,13%
Na enthielt.
Bewertung
Das Neutralisationsgeschwindigkeitstest (NRT-^eutralisation
Rate Test) wurde in der US-PS 3 784 474 und der
Kanadischen Patentschrift 911 420 beschrieben. Dieser
Test besteht in der Neutralisierung einer sauren wässrigen Phase mit basischer Ölphase. Der Fortgang der
Neutralisierung wird mit einem pH-Meßgerät verfolgt, indem der pH-Wert in angemessenen 2eitintervallen gemessen
wird· Der jeweilige pH-V/ert wird dann in Abhängigkeit von der Zeit aufgezeichnet. Basische Schmiermittel
werden die Säure neutralisieren und zeigen da-, . , , , , gewöhnlich in
bex einen bestimmten Wendepunkt (point of inflection), der V
dem pH-Bereich von 3,5 bis 6,5 liegt, wobei jedoch die
bis zum Wendepunkt verstrichene Zeit (TPI) je nach einem vorhandenen oder nicht vorhandenen Neutralisierungspromotor
nach der Erfindung in hohem Maße variiert, wenn alle anderen Testfaktoren konstant gehalten werden.

Die ausgehend vom ersten tischen der basischen Ül-
und der sauren Wasserphp.se bis zum Wendepunkt verstrichene Zeit ist der TPI-Wert; er bildet die Vergleichsbasis
der verschiedenen (^zusammensetzungen. Im allgemeinen hat sich beim Vergleich von zwei Ölgemengen
gezeigt, daß das Gemenge mit einem niedrigen TPI-Wert (schnellere Säureneutralisierung) ein größeres
Rostinhibitionsvermögen gegenüber dem Gemenge aufweist, das bei Konstanthaltung aller anderen Faktoren den höheren
TPI-..ert besitzt. In diesem Test kann auch die samere
ümrührgeschwindigkeit und die Ölviskosität die Neu- neuträtralisierungsgeschwindigkeit
beeinflussen. Die typische lisierung Wiederholbarkeit liegt bei + 5% der Durchschnittszeit
bis zum Wendepunkt. Der Test wird für die Aussonderung von zusätzlichen Rostinhibitoren für Motorentests als zuverlässig
angesehen, mit denen er in einer teilv/eisen Wechselbeziehung steht.
Tabelle I zeigt Daten dieses Neutralisierungstests.
Die saure Wasserphase bestand aus Ο,ΟΟΊ HCl. Der TPI-Wert
stellt die Minuten bis zum Wendepunkt in der Kurve pH-Werte in Abhängigkeit von der ^eit dar.
Die dem Test unterzogene Formulierung A ist ein Gemisch von 6 % eines herkömmlichen Succinimiddispergents, 50 mMol/kg
Kalziumphenolat und 18 mMol/kg Zinkdialkyldithiophosphat in "Citcon 30 Neutralschmieröl". Die ölformulierung B ist ein Gemisch
von 6 % eines herkömmlichen Succinimiddispergents, 25 mMol/kg Kalziumphenolat, 25 mMol/kg Uberbasiertem (overbased) Kalziumsulfonat
und 18 mMol/kg Zinkdialkyldithiophosphat in "Citcon Neutralschmieröl".
Die Ergebnisse dieses Tests sind in der nachstehenden Tabelle I enthalten.

Die Salze der Beispiel 3 und 4 wurden im Vergleich zu
den bekannten Rostinhibitoren im General Motors-Reihen-IIC-fiosttest
weiter ausgewertet. Das Testöl ist ein"R.I, Sun Puerto Rico SAS 30aSchmieröl, das 6% herkömmliches
Succinimiddispergens, 25mMolAg überbasiertes Kalziumsulf
onat, 25 mMolAg Kalziumphenolat und 18 mMol/kg
Zinkdialkyldithiophosphat enthält. Das Testöl ist vermischt mit der in der Tabelle II angeführten Rostschutzverbindung.
Der Durchschnittswert des Maschinenrostens (AER - average engine rust) wird nach 32 Stunden gemessen
und die Anzahl der festsitzenden Hinge notiert. Nach den GM-Anforderungen muß zum Bestehen des Tests
wenigstens ein Wert von 8,4 erreicht werden.

Claims (10)
1. HostinhibitorzusaiEsensetzung zur Verwendung in
Schmierölen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zusammensetzung ein Gruppe-II-Metallsalz
a) einer öllöslichen Hydrocarbylsulfosäure, und
b) einer polyoxyalkylenierten Schwefelsäure mit
einem Molekulargewicht im Bereich von etwa 500 bis etwa 5000 aufweist.
2. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die öllösliche Hydrocarbylsulfοsäure eine Petrolsulfosäure,
eine Polyalkylbenzolsulfosäure oder eine Polyalkylensulfosäure;und das Gruppe-II-Metall Kalzium,
Barium oder Magnesium ist.
3. Zusammensetzung nach dem Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die polyoxyäkylenierte Schwefelsäure
eine polyoxyalkylenierte Schwefelsäure aus einem polyoxyalkyjenierten Alkohol oder Aminoalkanol mit
1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen und 0 bis 10 Stickstoffatomenjund
die Hydrocarbylsulfosäure eine Polyalkylbenzolsulfosäure oder eine Polyisobutenylsulfosäure
ist.
4·. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 3» dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß der Alkohol ein mehrwertiger Alkohol ist, der
2 bis etwa 10 Hydroxygruppen aufweistjund das
Gruppe-II-Metall Kalzium oder Magnesium ist.
5· Zusammensetzung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche
1 bis 4-, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die polyoxyalkylenierte
Schwefelsäure aus einem Polyoxyäthylenpolyol oder einen Polyoxyäthylen/Polyoxypropylen-Blockcopolymerpolyol

3) wenigstens einan Gruppe-II-Metallaalz nach Anspruch
