Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von geschweißten Teilen aus vernetztem Kunststoffmaterial.
Teile aus verschweißtem Kunststoffmaterial sind wegen ihrer Vorteile, die sie aufweisen, insbesondere aus selbst bei hohen Temperaturen fließfestem Material bekannt.
Eine relativ störende Schwierigkeit behindert jedoch ihre Herstellung, nämlich die Verbindung vernetzter Teile durch Schweißen.
Es wurde vorgeschlagen, zwischen den zu verbindenen, bereits vernetzten Teilen einen Film aus dem gleichen Basiskunststoffmaterial anzuordnen, der gegebenenfalls zusammen mit den Stoffen extrudiert wird, die notwendig sind um ihn vernetzbar zu machen, der jedoch im Moment

des Schweißens noch nicht vernetzt wird. Ein derartiges Verfahren ist z.B. in den FR-PS 1 153 915, 1 365 656 und 2 050 003 beschrieben. Der Vorteil dieses Verfahrens ist unzweifelhaft, jedoch verbleibt, daß, wenn auch der Scherwiderstand dieser Gefüge bzw. Verbindungen in zahlreichen Fällen ausreichend ist, ihr schlechtes Verhalten bei einer Reißbeanspruchung sie für bestimmte Anwendungsfälle ungeeignet macht.
Der Erfindung liegt daher die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren zu schaffen, das die Herstellung von geschweißten Teilen aus vernetztem Kunststoffmaterial ermöglicht, die zugleich eine gute Scher- und Reißfestigkeit haben.
Gelöst wird diese Aufgabe dadurch, daß zunächst aus vernetzbarem und Vernetzungsmittel enthaltendem, jedoch noch nicht vernetztem Kunststoffmaterial bei einer Temperatur, die niedriger ist als diejenige, die zur Vernetzung notwendig ist, Halbfabrikate hergestellt werden, daß sie dann durch Schweißen verbunden werden, und daß schließlich das Gesamtgefüge vernetzt wird.
Die Erfindung wird nachstehend, anhand der Figuren 1 bis 4 beispielsweise erläutert. Es zeigt:

Man verwendet Polyäthylen hoher Dichte wie eines derjenigen, die im Handel unter der Bezeichnung "Lupolene 5261Z oder 4261A" der Badischen Anilin und Soda-Fabrik und "Manolene EF 2120 oder EF 2121 oder 56020" der Firma SODEFINE bekannten, mit einem Zusatz im Verhältnis von 1:5% von organischen Peroxiden wie z.B. das Peroxid von Ditert-butyl, das Peroxid von Dicumyl und das Diperoxid 1,3-Ditertbutyl-peroxidiisopropylbenzol.
Das verwendete Material kann auch ein Polyäthylen niedriger Dichte oder ein Polypropylen mit einem Zusatz eines Vernetzungsmittels sein. Allgemein kann es jedes vernetzbare Kunststoffmaterial mit einem Zusatz eines Vernetzungsmittels und gegebenenfalls mit Glasfasern oder irgendeinem anderen Material als Füllstoff sein.

Diese Teile haben in den Verbindungsbereichen einen ebenen Rand, wie dies bei den Teilen 1 und 2 der Fig. 1 der Fall ist, oder einen umgebogenen Rand 3 wie im Falle der Teile la und 2a der Fig. 2.
Diese Teile werden nun im ersten Fall an ihren ebenen, sich überlappenden Rändern bzw. im zweiten Fall an ihren aneinanderliegenden umgebogenen Rändern nach einem bekannten Verfahren verschweißt, wie dadurch, daß sie an einer Heißluftrampe vorbeigeführt und dann zwischen Walzen gepreßt werden, daß sie zwischen Heizgleitschuhen (mit geringem Reibungskoeffizienten, wenn es sich um eine kontinuierliche Schweißung handelt) durchgeführt und dann zwischen Walzen gepreßt werden, daß sie mittels Heizklemmbacken gleichzeitig erhitzt und gepreßt werden, oder daß sie mit Ultraschall beschallt und dann zwischen Walzen gepreßt werden, um jede Unterbrechung der Schweißung zu vermeiden.

Diese Schweißverfahren bringen im allgemeinen das Material auf eine Temperatur zwischen 180 und 20O0C.
Die erhaltenen Gefüge sind nun für die Vernetzung bereit.Diese wird an jedem Gefüge insgesamt durchgeführt und erfordert die Verwendung einer Heizeinrichtung, die das Gesamtgefüge auf eine Temperatur nahe oder über 200°C bringt.
Es ist offensichtlich, daß die hier erwähnten Temperaturen sich auf die Anwendung des Polyäthylens hoher Dichte beziehen und für andere Materialien verschieden sind.
Die Fig. 3 und 4 zeigen entsprechende Gefüge, jedoch für Teile 4 und 5 mit ebenen Rändern (Fig. 3) oder Teile 4a und-5a mit umgebogenen Rändern (Fig. 4), die in bekannter Weise mittels eines Films 6 oder 6a verbunden sind, der zwischen die bereits vernetzten Teile eingebracht wird.
Die durch die Erfindung erreichte Verbesserung wird anhand der in der folgenden Vergleichstabelle angegebenen Ergebnisse erläutert. Hierfür wurde an den Gefügen 1-2 (Fig. 1) und 4-5-6 (Fig. 3) Scherversuche bzw. an den Gefügeri la-2a (Fig. 2) und 4a-5a-6a (Fig. 4) Reißversuche durchgeführt.

Claims (5)

Patentansprüche
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von geschweißten Teilen aus vernetzten^ Kunststoff material, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zunächst aus vernetzbarem und Vernetzungsmittel enthaltendem, jedoch noch nicht vernetztem Kunststoffmaterial bei einer Temperatur, die niedriger ist als diejenige, die zur Vernetzung notwendig ist, Halbfabrikate hergestellt werden, daß sie dann durch Schweißen verbunden werden, und daß schließlich das Gesamtgefüge vernetzt wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das vernetzbare Kunststoffmaterial ein thermoplastisches Material ist.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das vernetzbare Kunststoffmaterial ein Polyolefin ist.
4. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das vernetzbare Kunststoffmaterial ein Polyäthylen hoher Dichte ist.
5. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das vernetzbare Kunststoffmaterial eine Füllstoff enthält..
