Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method or an apparatus for Drop formation, especially of substances that are difficult to atomize.
The pressing of powdery substances is a production pro zeß who u. a. in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in the ceramic Industry plays an important role. In the pharmaceutical field it is Pressed product mostly a finished tablet, while in the field of Ceramics pressing the raw materials follow a preliminary step the sintering process. Various solid substances are said to be in the compact well mixed in a well-defined ratio. To do this even with small quantities the ratio of the mixture components in To be able to maintain tight tolerances, the fabrics have to be very small Particles with dimensions of a few µm should be ground. However, it is difficult to handle dust-like powder without loss and one Avoid segregation. Furthermore, many mixtures also result in high pressures without the addition of binders is not inherent capable compact. Very fine-grained powders can also be used because of high Frictional forces on the grain surfaces hardly pore-free to a homo squeeze your body.
For these reasons, after the fine grinding and mixing at the like processes, an intermediate process, namely granulating switches. The aim of this process is a free-flowing powder with grains in the dimension of a few 1/10 mm, in which the desired one is already Substance ratio is present. It is achieved by means of binders that granular agglomerates (secondary grain) are formed.
Various granulation processes, such as for example spray granulation, pelleting, compression granulation or extrusion known to have various advantages and disadvantages.
Both in the field of ceramic production and in the field of Pharmacy there are mixtures that are difficult or don't let it granulate at all. An example from pharmacy is a mixture of starch, high milk sugar, organic Binders and active ingredients. Here, both profitability as well as to avoid segregation, the water content kept as low as possible. The result is a pasty one Suspension that behaves rheopex. Rheopexy is referred to as viscous liquids the phenomenon that with increasing shear tensions (e.g. by applying pressure or stirring) the flow fortune decreases. The opposite effect is with thixotropic liquids the case. The effect of rheopexy is particularly with suspensions with high concentration of macromolecules or fine particles observe. It was found that pressure or movement to a Displacement of the liquid component from the gaps between the particles, resulting in an increase in internal friction causes. So it is for example with the above-mentioned, low water Mixing not possible to press the paste through fine nozzle channels.
A flow of the mass is basically only a slow process observed under the influence of gravity.
It is the object of the present invention, a method and a Specify device with which in particular bad or not at all liquids to be atomized from nozzles, in particular rheopexic liquids can be formed into drops in a continuous process.
This task is solved by the characteristics of the independent Expectations.
According to the invention, this is due to the surface tension for cutting energy required in small droplets not by pressure but by introduced by means of mechanical vibration. According to the Substance for droplet formation is moved by a guide that works with a Inlet and an outlet is provided, the guide directly or is indirectly set in mechanical vibrations, so that the substance is shaken off in the form of drops. Especially through high Frequent vibration excitation can be the guide or the outlet accelerate the leadership strongly positive and negative, so that the to Breaking the substance into small drops of energy required can be.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are in the description, the drawings and the subclaims.
According to a first advantageous embodiment, the mechani vibrations in the area of the inlet into the guide become. This has the advantage that the leadership itself is a particular one Extent has, acts as a lever, so that the overall guide as Vibration body can be used, whereby the stroke on The outlet can be enlarged.
It is also advantageous if the guide swings about an axis that runs approximately at right angles to a longitudinal extension of the guide. Especially if this axis is provided in the area of the inlet, the entire guide acts as an elastic vibrating body.
An oscillation frequency on the order of about 0.5 to 5 kHz has proven to be advantageous. Here, in the area of Outlet strokes between 0.5 and 1 mm at excitation frequencies generate between 2 kHz and 1 kHz.
It is also advantageous if the guide is tapered is because in this case the substance is under the influence of gravity are slowly moved out of the guide or flow out can. It is particularly advantageous here if the substance in the Leadership is only moved by gravity, as this is your own rheopexic substances. In principle flow these substances better when exposed to ultrasound. So it can be also use ultrasound to support the flow. Basically it is of course also possible to pump substances through the guide.
In order to ver the drops generated according to the invention to a granulate work, the drops formed can be placed in a hot air stream ben, whereby granules are formed from these.
A has proven to be a particularly advantageous vibration generator highlighted piezoelectric drive element, in particular a Drive element that generates a tilting moment due to its structure. Particularly advantageous in connection with the present invention is an actuator element as it is in the German patent 196 46 511.7 is described. The content of this patent hereby expressly becomes Subject of the disclosure of this application.
Es zeigen:The present invention is described below purely by way of example partial embodiments and with reference to the accompanying Described drawings. Show it:

Fig. 3 is an enlarged view of the exit of a guide.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing a first embodiment for formation of drops, in particular for rheopexic substances. In this embodiment, a guide in the form of a tapered tube 10 is provided, which is flattened on both sides. The outlet opening 12 of the tube 10 is thus designed as a slot.
The tube 10 is attached to a drive head 14 , into which a feed line 16 opens. The desired substance can be fed into the drive head 14 through the feed line 16 . From there, the substance flows into the inlet of the tube 10 and from there to the outlet opening 12 of the tube 10 .
The drive head 14 is clamped to a base plate 20 via a piezoelectric drive element 18 , two bolts 22 serving as clamping means. By actuating the drive element 18 with an alternating voltage, the two partial stacks 18 a and 18 b of the drive element 18 contract alternately in opposite directions, as a result of which a tilting moment is exerted on the drive head 14 . This tilting movement is transmitted to the guide tube 10, so that the outlet opening 12 or the outlet is displaced in the direction of the arrow shown in vibration 12th The achievable stroke in the region of the outlet opening 12 is increased by the longitudinal extension of the guide tube 10 .
In order to bring difficult to atomize, in particular rheopexic substances in droplet form, the feed line 16 is connected to a storage vessel, whereby the mass slowly swells under the influence of gravity through the feed line 16 and the guide tube 10 . By driving the drive element 18 with a high-frequency alternating voltage in the range of 0.5 to 5 kHz, the guide tube 10 is set in tilting vibrations, whereby 12 individual drops 24 are shaken off in the region of the outlet opening.
The feed line 16 can be elastically connected to the drive head 14 or, due to the thin wall thickness, can be elastic in itself, so that vibration transmission to the feed line 16 is avoided.
The size of the resulting drops can be cut through the opening cross section, the oscillation frequency, the stroke, the moisture content and the length of the guide tube and by the design of the opening edge of the outlet opening 12 .
Fig. 3 shows an enlarged view of the outlet opening 12 'of an alternative embodiment of a guide tube 10 '. As can be seen, there the exit edge is provided with teeth 26 ', 28 ', the teeth 26 'on one side of the slot-like outlet opening 12 ' being offset from the teeth 28 'on the other side of the outlet opening 12 ', ie the teeth are on gap. With such a configuration, the efficiency in droplet formation can be increased.
Fig. 2 shows a further embodiment of a device according to the invention, wherein the same parts are provided with the same reference numerals.
In this embodiment, the guide for the substance is designed as a channel 11 which is open at the top and forms an outlet opening 12 at its front end. In this embodiment, the front end of the trough 11 or the outlet opening 12 is also set in the arrow direction in tilting vibrations by the drive element 18 is controlled at high frequency. In this exemplary embodiment, the feed also takes place through a feed line 16 via the cutter head 14 . Alternatively, however, it is also possible to guide the substance by simply dripping it out of a vessel into the channel, so that the substance can be shaken off in drops at the end of the channel. It is also possible to make the outlet opening 12 of the channel comparable to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3.
In order to obtain moist, roundish particles with a diameter of approximately 100 μm to 300 μm for granulate formation, the drops according to the invention can be dried in hot air in a relatively short flight distance so that they hit the bottom of the drying tower as solid agglomerate. With an exit cross section of a few mm 2 at a vibration frequency in the order of 1 kHz to 5 kHz, amplitudes of a few 0.1 to 2 mm can be achieved.
