Description
PATENTANMELDUNGPATENT APPLICATION
Altarfalz) ■Device for folding a 3-fold parallel fold, in which the open arch flaps are directed towards the center (window or altar fold) ■
The invention relates to a device on buckling machines for producing the so-called window or gate fold. This type of fold, in which the open sheet edges are directed inwards towards the center, can be done with conventional buckle folding machines therefore cannot be produced because the trailing arched flap opens again at the last parallel fold. In order to eliminate this disadvantage, additional controls on folding pockets have become known, through which the last folding pocket is closed shortly before the upsetting process so that it fulfills the function of a diverter. According to the German utility model 15 E, 1 / 02-1 955 933 this reversal of the folding pocket triggered by a light barrier, which briefly moves the folding pocket into place via an electromagnet and mechanical linkage transformed into a diverter.
With the high running speeds of modern buckling machines, such a control can no longer work in a timely manner because only a tiny amount of time is available for the switching process. It has therefore been shown in practice that with the known devices only those types of altar fold can be carried out in which the inwardly lying arched edges are a certain distance from the center, only here is the time required to perform the Change of direction.
Der Bogen wird in einer üblichen Stauchfalzmaschine zweimal parallel gefalzt und so in das am Ausgang dieser Maschine angestellte SchwertfalzwerkThe present invention has set itself the task of this The disadvantage can be eliminated by a folding device that is independent of the center-to-center distance of the open sheet edges. The folding device consists of a specially designed knife folding unit for the last, third parallel fold. The arch is in a conventional buckle folding machine folded twice in parallel and so into the knife folding unit at the exit of this machine

When you arrive, the sheet is in the special knife folder according to the invention is controlled by an appropriate control triggered the sword movement, with special guide tongues on the left and right of the sword blade together with the Sword movement are actuated. Through this process, the two are simultaneously with the initiation of the knife fold open sheet edges directed towards the center are inevitably introduced into the folding rollers, so that it does not matter how the open arched flaps are far from the center. Since the movement of these insertion tabs directly or indirectly with the Sword movement is connected, there is enough time for this process, so that no limitation of the performance is necessary. In the lowest position of the folding blade, i.e. at the moment in which the sheet loop is taken over by the folding rollers takes place, the arranged next to the sword guide tongues are in their lowest position, so that the open arc edges can also be introduced into the folding rollers with only a small margin. It can therefore not be the infamous Re-fold or double fold come, which generally forces you to adjust the folding rollers very easily, with the disadvantage It must be accepted that after the hemming process it is no longer possible to cut precisely. Cutting after folding is now very preferred, especially for prospectus work, as it allows the processing of several copies at the same time.
The present invention therefore has a number of advantages over the known prior art accompanying drawings explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.
