Description
worin R Wasserstoff oder eine Methylgruppe, R' und R" je eine Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Allyl-,
Butyl- oder Amylgruppe bedeuten.
2. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Verbindungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
man in an sich bekannter Weise in einer ersten Stufe 4-Chlor-3-nitrophenylmethylsulfon mit rauchender
Schwefelsäure und rauchender Salpetersäure oder p-Chlorphenylmethylsulfon mit rauchender
Schwefelsäure und konzentrierter Salpetersäure nitriert und das so erhaltene 4-Chlor-3,5-dinitrophenylmethylsulfon
in einer zweiten Stufe mit Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Allyl-, Butyl-
oder Amylamin umsetzt.
3. Verwendung der Verbindungen nach Anspruch 1 als Wirkstoffe in Herbiziden.
35 Herbizide mit besonders guter Wirkung sind die folgenden Verbindungen:
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylanilin,
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-diallylanilin, 4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-propyl,N-allyI-
anilin
und insbesondere die Verbindungen
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-propyl,N-butyl-
anilin,
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-äthyl,N-butyl-
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-äthyl,N-butyl-
anilin,
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-äthyl,N-propyl-
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-äthyl,N-propyl-
anilin und
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylm-toluidin.
4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylm-toluidin.
Folgende Verbindungen zeigen eine mäßige Wirksamkeit als Herbizid:
4-Methylsulfonyl-2,6-dinitro-N,N-diäthylanilin, 4-Methylsulfonyl-2,6-drnitro-N,N-dibutylanilin,
4-Methylsulfonyl-2,6-dinitro-N-allyl-N-äthylanilin.
Die Beispiele erläutern die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen sowie ihre Wirksamkeit
als Herbizide. Die Teile sind Gewichtsteile.
Herstellung von 4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylanilin
A. Herstellung von 4-Chlor-3,5-dinitrophenylmethylsulfon
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind N,N-substituierte 4-Methylsulfonyl-2,6-dinitroaniline und entsprechen
der allgemeinen Formel

CH,-S
worin R Wasserstoff oder eine Methylgruppe, R' und R" je eine Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Allyl-,
Butyl- oder Amylgruppe bedeuten.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der Ν,Ν-substituierten 4-Methylsulfonyl-2,6-dinitroaniline
der angegebenen Formel, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man in an sich bekannter Weise in einer ersten Stufe 4-Chlor-3-nitrophenylmethylsulfon
mit rauchender Schwefelsäure und rauchender Salpetersäure oder p-Chlorphenylmethylsulfon
mit rauchender Schwefelsäure und konzentrierter Salpetersäure nitriert und das so erhaltene
4-Chlor-3,5-dinitrophenylmethylsulfon in einer zweiten Stufe mit Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Allyl-,
Butyl- oder Amylamin umsetzt.
Schließlich ist Gegenstand der Erfindung die Verwendung der Endprodukte als Wirkstoffe in Herbiziden.
6 Teile 4-Chlor-3-nitrophenylmethylsulfon wurden bei 300C portionsweise zu einem Gemisch aus 39 Teilen
rauchender H2SO4 (30%) und 16 Teilen roter
rauchender HNO3 (D = 1,60) zugefügt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wurde 3 Stunden unter Rühren auf 120 bis 1400C erhitzt und dann über Eis ausgegossen.
Der sich abscheidende Feststoff wurde filtriert, mit Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet. Das Produkt
wurde aus Dimethylformamidlösung durch Zufügen von Alkohol umkristallisiert und ergab 4,5 Teile
blaßgelbe Kristalle; F. 201 bis 2030C. Die Struktur wurde durch Elementaranalyse bestätigt:

B. Herstellung von 4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylanilin
15 Teile 4-Chlor-3,5-dinitrophenylmethylsulfon wurden
suspendiert in 120 Teilen Methanol und 15 Teile Dipropylamin zugefügt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde
2 Stunden erhitzt, gekühlt und der sich abscheidende Feststoff abfiltriert. Nach Waschen und Umkristallisieren
wurden 18 Teile goldgelbe Kristalle erhalten; F. 150 bis 151°C (97% Ausbeute). Die Struktur wurde
durch Elementaranalyse bestätigt:

Herstellung von 4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-diallylanilin
14 Teile 4-Chlor-3,5-dinitrophenylmethylsulfon wurden in einem mit mechanischem Rührwerk ausgerüsteten
Kolben in 120 Teilen Methanol suspendiert. Zu dem Gemisch wurden tropfenweise 10 Teile
Diallylamin zugefügt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde dann unter Rückfluß 172 Stunde erhitzt, in einem
Bad aus trockenem Eis und Aceton gekühlt und der sich abscheidende Feststoff abfiltriert. Nach Umkristallisieren
aus Methanol wurden 12 Teile gelbe Kristalle erhalten; F. 108 bis 111°C (71% Ausbeute).
Die Struktur wurde durch Elementaranalyse bestätigt:

Beispiel 3

Zum Nachweis der überlegenen Wirkung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen gegenüber gebräuchlichen
Herbiziden wurden Vergleichsversuche mit dem viel verwendeten Herbizid 4-Methyl-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylanilin
durchgeführt.
Die der Vergleichssubstanz am nächsten'kommende erfindungsgemäße Verbindung 4-(Methylsulfonyl)-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropylanilin
ergab gegenüber elf verschiedenen Unkräutern (meist Grasarten) eine im Durchschnitt etwa auf das Vierfache erhöhte Herbizidwirkung,
wobei ein Sonderfall, bei dem eine mehr als fünfzigfache Wirkung beobachtet wurde, außer Betracht
blieb.
Auch 4 - (Methylsulfonyl) - 2,6 - dinitro - N - propyl-N-allylanilin
zeigte eine gegenüber dem obigen Handelsprodukt verbesserte Wirkung, wenn die Verbesserung
auch in diesem Fall nicht so ausgesprochen war. Bei Vergleichsversuchen mit weiteren im Anschluß
an Beispiel 2 aufgeführten erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen ergab sich ebenfalls in allen Fällen eine
Überlegenheit über das Handelsprodukt.
