Description
The invention relates to a container for molten metals, in particular on a converter, with refractory lining, outer steel jacket and a pipe socket for a tap opening.
Converters for steelmaking, such as converters for the oxygen inflation method, are usually with a fixed tap hole provided, through which the liquid metal under the mirror of the floating on top Slag can leak. When the metal is almost completely peeled off, you can the slag and the rest of the metal run out through the same tapping channel.
Tapping channel designs are known in which the channel itself is immutably fixed in the outer steel jacket, its outlet or spout however, it is designed to be tiltable, displaceable or pivotable. With these versions however, the following circumstance has not been taken into account: If the converter is planned, the tap opening and the tap hole aligned with it the calculated optimal point for the casting on the converter. The operating experience with converters has shown, however, that the calculated position of the tap hole or the tapping channel does not match its optimal position, since the influences the erosion of the converter lining between successive new linings are not predictable.
The invention takes this fact into account for the first time by starting proposed according to the invention by a container of the type indicated at the outset is that at the point of the tapping channel in the steel jacket of the container an opening is provided, which is considerably larger than the diameter in the vertical direction of the pipe socket for the tapping channel, and that this pipe socket on a pipe socket plate is attached, which covers the opening in the steel jacket of the container, and that the Pipe extension plate with the pipe extension in a predetermined number of vertical positions can be attached to the steel jacket of the container.
If the container is an oxygen inflation converter, it will result When hot gases hit, a cavity is formed in the converter chatter. This hollow in the converter fatter can be lower than the tapping opening in the wall, see above that the converter is not completely emptied when tilting for tapping can. Due to the container design according to the invention, the tap opening on the Containers are placed at the point at which maximum erosion occurs, so that at subsequent use of the converter, the recess due to the erosion at the tapping opening is formed and complete emptying of the converter is ensured.
According to an expedient embodiment of the invention it is provided that a cover plate standing on the steel jacket with a number of in vertical waste disposed notches is fixed from one another, that the tubular extension panel engages in each vertical position in the steel casing with outwardly directed tabs in some of the top plate incisions and that In the area of at least some incisions on the cover plate, devices for fastening the tabs are attached to the cover plate. As an advantageous further development, the invention proposes that the fastening device consists of two outwardly protruding lugs with vertically continuous slots connected to the incision sides with the cover plate, into which a latch is releasably inserted.
To explain the invention, a will now be based on the drawing described adjustable tap opening according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a section along line I-1 of Fig. 1. 2 and shows, in a sectional view from the side, the tapping opening of a converter; F i g. Figure 2 is a view in the direction of arrow A of Figure 2. 1, and F i g. 3 is a section along HI-III of FIG. 2. A metallurgical converter has, as shown in FIG. 1 , an outer steel jacket 12, permanent lining 13 and 14 and an exchangeable lining 15. The converter is provided with a tap opening which consists of a tubular socket 16 made of steel. The pipe socket 16 is attached to a steel pipe socket plate 17 and lined with a refractory tube 18 which extends through the chucks 13 and 15 and is fixed to the chuck 14 over part of its length. The pipe forms a tapping opening for the converter.
The pipe attachment plate 17 possesses, as shown in FIG . 2 can be seen, a substantially rectangular plan. The plate 17 protrudes laterally over the converter shell 12 and has a number of tabs 20A to 20L which extend from the side edges to the side. A cover plate 21 is welded to the outer surface of the jacket 12 (see FIG . 3) , to which a number of outwardly directed blocks 22A to 22U are fastened. Incisions 23A to 23S are provided between the adjacent blocks, and in each position of the tube attachment plate 17, the tabs 20A to 20L of the plate 17 are arranged with a sliding fit in a corresponding number of these incisions.
As in Fig. 2, six pairs of adjacent blocks 22 are provided with outwardly facing tabs 24. Each approach is arranged on the associated block so that the side of the approach abutting the tabs is in the same plane as the corresponding side of the block. Each of the lugs has a slot 25 (see FIG. 3), and the slots of adjacent lugs 24 each receive a wedge-shaped bolt 26 which bridges the pair of lugs and which lies over the tabs 20 arranged between these lugs. The depth of the slots is chosen so that the surface of the bolt is brought into contact with the surfaces of the slots.
From Fig. 2 it can be seen that although there are only six pairs of lugs 24, twelve tabs 20 and eighteen cuts 23 are provided. The plate 17 can therefore be placed in one of a number of different positions. There are four possible positions in the illustrated arrangement and in each of these positions various tabs are retained by lugs 24 and wedges 26. It goes without saying, however, that in other exemplary embodiments of the invention the number of incisions can be the same as the number of tabs and that a pair of lugs can also be connected to each incision.
The plate 17 takes from z. B. four possible positions in F i g. 1 and 2, for example, a position no. 2. For z. B. another position no. 1 , the plate 17 compared to F i g. 2 down, d. H. in the direction of the bottom of the converter, so that the tabs 20 F and 20 L engage in the incisions 23 1 and 23 S. In order to take position no. 3 and no. 4, the plate is rotated. In position no. 3 , the tabs 20 F and 20 L lie in the notches 23K and 23B, respectively. In position no. 4, the tabs 20 F and 20 L lie in the cuts 23J and 23A, respectively. The plate is held in place in each of the four layers by six bolts, which are arranged at a calibrated distance from the plate's axis of symmetry.
On the outer steel jacket 12 of the converter, a downwardly directed deflection plate 27 (see FIG. 1) is attached and protects the bolt from molten metal. From Fig. 1 and 2 it can be seen that the plate 17 is provided with ribs 28 and 29 which are attached to the plate parallel to the axis of symmetry, one end of the ribs each resting on the tubular extension 16 made of steel and being attached to it. Both ribs 28 and 29 are provided with holes 30 and 31 in order to be able to raise or lower the plate 17 relative to the container.
