verschiedenartigsten physikalischen Eigenschaften werden nach dem Isocyanat-Polyadditionsverfahren
aus Verbindungen mit mehreren aktiven Wasserstoffatomen, insbesondere Hydroxyl- und/oder Carboxylgruppen
enthaltenden Verbindungen und Polyisocyanaten, gegebenenfalls unter Mitverwendung von
Wasser, Aktivatoren, Emulgatoren und anderen Zusatzstoffen, seit langem im technischen Maße
hergestellt (Angew. Chem. A, 59 [1948], S. 257;
Taschenbuch »Bayer-Kunststoffe«, 1955). Es ist nach dieser Verfahrensweise möglich, bei geeigneter Wahl
der Komponenten sowohl elastische als auch starre Schaumstoffe bzw. alle zwischen diesen Extremen
liegenden Varianten herzustellen.
Schaumstoffe auf Polyisoeyanatbasis werden vorzugsweise
durch Vermischen flüssiger Komponenten hergestellt, wobei die miteinander umzusetzenden
Ausgangsmaterialien entweder gleichzeitig zusammen-;
gemischt werden oder aber zunächst aus einer PoIyhydroxyverbindung
mit einem Überschuß an Poly-: isocyanat ein NCO-Gruppen enthaltendes Voraddukt
hergestellt wird, das dann in einem zweiten Arbeitsgang mit Wasser in den Schaumstoff übergeführt
wird.
Als Katalysatoren haben sich tertiäre Amine besonders bewährt. Die Wahl geeigneter Katalysatoren
ist wichtig, um sowohl die Reaktion zwischen den Hydroxyl- und/oder Carboxylgruppen und den Isocyanatgruppen
und die Reaktion zwischen dem Wasser und den Isocyanatgruppen zu beschleunigen, als auch insbesondere im Einstufenverfahren die
verschiedenen nebeneinander ablaufenden Reaktionen aufeinander abzustimmen. Hinzu kommt, daß noch
zusätzliche Vernetzungsreaktionen, wahrscheinlich unter Bildung von Biuretstrukturen und Cyanursäureringen
ablaufen. Da alle diese Umsetzungen sofort beim Zusammentritt der Komponenten einsetzen,
muß für eine Steuerung und Abstimmung der einzelnen Reaktionsabläufe Sorge getragen werden,
damit ein technisch brauchbarer Schaumstoff entsteht. Das gilt besonders für die bei der großtechnischen
Herstellung von Polyurethanschaumstoffen üblichen kurzen Misch- und Reaktionszeiten.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Urethangruppen enthaltenden Schaumstoffen
aus Polyhydroxyverbindungen, Polyisocyanaten und Wasser in Gegenwart von mehrere Stickstoffatome,
davon mindestens ein tertiäres Stickstoffatom, aufweisenden Verbindungen als Katalysatoren,
wobei als Katalysatoren Aminourethane und/oder Aminoharnstoffe verwendet werden, die der

Ring bilden, R3 Wasserstoff, Alkyl- oder tertiärer Aminoalkylrest, R4 = — OR5 oder — NH ■.— R5 und
R5 Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aralkyl· oder Arylrest bedeuten.
Es wurde gefunden, daß die erfindungsgemäß als Katalysatoren verwendeten Verbindungen die verschiedenen
nebeneinander ablaufenden Reaktionen des Verschäumungsvorganges sehr stark beschleunigen
und die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeiten der verschiedenen Reaktionen in ausgewogener Weise aufeinander abstimmen.
Die erhaltenen Schaumstoffe zeichnen sich im Falle von Weichschaumstoffen durch besondere
Zugfestigkeit bei gleichzeitig hoher Weichheit aus, im Falle von Hartschaumstoffen durch hohe Druckfestigkeit.
Ein besonderer Vorteil dieser Katalysatoren Hegt darin, daß die erhaltenen Schaumstoffe völlig
geruchfrei sind und nicht den sonst recht spezifischen Amingeruch aufweisen. Die völlige Geruchfreiheit ist

Schaumstoff mit besonders guter Zugfestigkeit, wie die nachfolgenden physikalischen Eigenschaften
zeigen:

100 Teile eines mit Trimethylolpropan schwach verzweigten Polypropylenglykols mit der Hydroxylzahl 56
werden mit 1 Teil l-Dimethylaminopropan-3-carbamidsäureäthylester,
0,4 Teilen Zinn(II)-octoat, 1,5 Tei- ao len Polysiloxanpolyalkylenglykoläther und 4 Teilen
Wasser gründlich verrührt. Nach Zusatz von 51,5 Teilen Toluylendusocyanat erhält man einen besonders
tragfähigen, elastischen Schaumstoff, der folgende mechanische Eigenschaften besitzt:
Raumgewicht 26 kg/m3
Zugfestigkeit 1,1 kg/cm2
Bruchdehnung 215%
Stauchhärte
(bis 40% Zusammendrük-
kung) 43 g/cm2
Stoßelastizität 37%
Bleibende Verformung 8%
Polysiloxanpolyalkylenglykoläther eingerührt. Nach Zusatz einer Lösung aus 50 Teilen Trichlormonofluormethan
in 110 Teilen 4,4'-Diphenylmethandiisocyanat (90%) beginnt die Mischung zu schäumen, und man
erhält einen sehr zähen Hartschaumstoff mit hoher Druckfestigkeit bei niedrigem Raumgewicht, wie aus
der folgenden Wertetabelle hervorgeht:
Raumgewicht 21 kg/m3
Druckfestigkeit 1,3 kg/cm2
Schlagzähigkeit 0,3 kg/cm
Wärmebiegefestigkeit 1120C
Wasseraufnahme 2%
Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch.Verfahren zur Herstellung von Urethangruppen enthaltenen Schaumstoffen durch Umsetzung von Polyhydroxyverbindungen, Polyisocyanaten und Wasser in Gegenwart von mehrere Stickstoffatome, davon mindestens ein tertiäres Stickstoffatom aufweisenden Verbindungen als Katalysatoren und gegebenenfalls von weiteren Zusatzstoffen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Katalysatoren Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel verwendet werden:3550 Teile eines propoxylierten Trimethylolpropans mit der Hydroxylzahl 380 werden mit 30 Teilen eines aus Adipinsäure, Phthalsäureanhydrid, Ölsäure und Trimethylolpropan hergestellten Polyesters mit der Hydroxylzahl 380 und 20 Teilen propoxyliertem Äthylendiamin mit der OH-Zahl 720 vermischt. Als Aktivatoranteil werden in diese Mischung 1 Teil 1-Dimethylaminopropan-3-carbamidsäureäthylester und 0,5 Teile )N —A —CH-B
2 NR3-CO-R4in der A einen zweiwertigen aliphatischen Rest mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen, B Wassserstoff oder einen einwertigen aliphatischen Rest mit 1 bis 20 C-Atomen, R1, R2 Alkyl-, Hydroxyalkyl- oder Alkoxyalkylrest, gegebenenfalls Atomgruppen, die gemeinsam mit dem N-Atom einen heterocyclischen Ring bilden, R3 Wasserstoff, Alkyl- oder tertiärer Aminoalkylrest, R4 = -OR5 oder -NH — R5 und R5 Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, AraÜcyl- oder Arylrest bedeuten.In Betracht gezogene Druckschriften:
