Wenn also z. B. harte Stellen im Werkstück angeschnitten werden, wird der Vorschub selbsttätig so lange herabgesetzt, bis wieder Normalgefüge kommt. Die Spanabnahme paßt sich also automatisch der Werkstoffbeschaffenheit an, so daß das Werkzeug weitgehend geschont wird.
