Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betäuben von Schlachttieren (16), insbesondere von Schweinen (10), für eine anschließende Schlachtung, wobei das Verfahren die folgenden Schritte umfasst:
- Vorbetäuben mittels eines Betäubungsgases oder Betäubungsgasgemisches (22) und
- nachfolgend weitere Betäubung mittels eines Betäubungsgases oder Betäubungsgasgemisches (38) während eines Transports der Schlachttiere (16) entlang eines Transportweges.
Es ist vorgesehen, dass das Betäubungsgas oder Betäubungsgasgemisch (22) bei der Vorbetäubung über einen Futterspender (18) zugeführt wird, wobei jedem einzelnen der Schlachttiere (16) bei der weiteren Betäubung das entsprechende Betäubungsgas oder Betäubungsgasgemisch (38) mittels einer jeweiligen Atemmaske (40) zugeführt wird.
Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin eine entsprechende Anlage (14) zum Betäuben von Schlachttieren (16), insbesondere von Schweinen (10), für eine anschließende Schlachtung.

Mittels der weiteren Betäubung wird insbesondere eine Tiefenbetäubung des jeweiligen Schlachttiers erreicht.
