Description
The invention relates to a silane, a rubber mixture containing the silane and a vehicle tire which has the rubber mixture in at least one component, as well as a method for producing the silane.
In principle, a distinction can be made between silanes that bind only to silica or comparable fillers and for this purpose in particular have at least one silyl group, and silanes that have a reactive sulfur group in addition to a silyl group, such as in particular an S x group (with x> or equal to 2) or a mercapto group SH or blocked S-SG grouping, where SG stands for a protecting group, so that the silane is produced by reaction of the S x or SH grouping or the S-SG grouping after removal of the protecting group can also bind to polymers during sulfur vulcanization. In this way, a novel silane is provided according to the invention. A rubber mixture which contains the silane according to the invention has an optimized profile of properties including the rolling resistance behavior and the rigidity. The rubber mixture according to the invention thus has a certain improvement in terms of the property profile including handling predictors, and the vehicle tire according to the invention shows, inter alia. an improved handling behavior.
The silane according to the invention and its preferred embodiments are explained below. All aspects also apply to the silane in the rubber mixture according to the invention and in the vehicle tire according to the invention and to the production process, unless expressly stated otherwise.
The terms “remainder” and “group” are used synonymously in the context of the present invention in connection with chemical formula components.
As shown in formula I), the silane according to the invention is a blocked or unblocked mercaptosilane with the group SR 3 , where R 3 represents a hydrogen atom or a protective group due to its properties specified in more detail, so that the sulfur can then be removed by removing the protective group is activated as described at the beginning in order to be able to participate in a sulfur vulcanization.
The group R 3 is a hydrogen atom or a -C (= O) -R 4 group or
a -SiR 8 3 group, where R 4 and R 8 are selected from C 1 -C 20 -alkyl groups, C 4 -C 10 -cycloalkyl groups, C 6 -C 20 -aryl groups, C 2 -C 20 -alkenyl groups and C 7 -C 20 aralkyl groups.
According to particularly advantageous embodiments of the invention, R 3 is a -C (= O) -R 4 group or a -SiR 8 3 group, whereby the inventive silane of these advantageous embodiments is a blocked mercaptosilane.
This has the advantage that the sulfur can only take part in chemical reactions after removing the groups mentioned for R 3 and that undesired side reactions do not occur beforehand.
The silane is therefore easier to process, in particular easier to mix into a rubber mixture.
The group R 3 is particularly preferably a -C (= O) -R 4 group, R 4 being selected from C 1 -C 20 -alkyl groups.
Dabei ist R4 ganz besonders bevorzugt ausgewählt aus C1 bis C7-Alkylgruppen, wiederum bevorzugt C1-C3-Alkylgruppen, insbesondere beispielsweise eine C1-Alkylgruppe, also eine Methylgruppe.R 4 is very particularly preferably selected from C 1 to C 7 -alkyl groups, again preferably C 1 -C 3 -alkyl groups, in particular, for example, a C 1 -alkyl group, that is to say a methyl group.
The radicals R 1 of the silane according to the invention can be identical or different from one another within a silyl group (R 1 ) o Si and the molecule independently of one another and are selected from alkoxy groups with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, cycloalkoxy groups with 4 to 10 carbon atoms, phenoxy groups with 6 to 20 carbon atoms, aryl groups with 6 to 20 carbon atoms, alkyl groups with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, alkenyl groups with 2 to 20 carbon atoms, alkynyl groups with 2 to 20 carbon atoms, aralkyl groups with 7 to 20 carbon atoms, halides or
Alkyl polyether groups -O- (R 6 -O) r -R 5 where R 6 are identical or different and are branched or unbranched, saturated or unsaturated, aliphatic, aromatic or mixed aliphatic / aromatic bridging C 1 -C 30 hydrocarbon groups, preferably - CH 2 -CH 2 -, r is an integer from 1 to 30, preferably 3 to 10, and R 5 is unsubstituted or substituted, branched or unbranched, terminal alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl groups, preferably -C 13 H 27 alkyl group
or
two R 1 form a cyclic dialkoxy group with 2 to 10 carbon atoms in which case o <3,
or two or more silanes according to formula I) can be bridged via radicals R 1. All of the radicals R 1 and linkages mentioned can be combined with one another within a silyl group.
In the event that two silanes according to formula I) are bridged to one another, they share a radical R 1 . In this way, more than two silanes can be linked to one another. Following the synthesis of the silane according to formula I), it is therefore conceivable that two silanes according to formula I) are bridged to one another via the radicals R 1. In this way, more than two silanes can be linked to one another, for example via dialkoxy groups.
The silane according to the invention can also comprise oligomers which are formed by hydrolysis and condensation of the silanes of the formula I). This includes, on the one hand, oligomers of two or more silanes according to formula I). According to the invention, on the other hand, oligomers are also included which are formed by condensation of at least one silane according to formula I) with at least one further silane which does not correspond to formula I). The “further silane” can in particular be silane coupling agents known to the person skilled in the art.

It is preferred that the radicals R 1 comprise alkyl groups with 1 to 6 carbon atoms or alkoxy groups with 1 to 6 carbon atoms or halides; alkoxy groups with 1 to 6 carbon atoms or halides are particularly preferred.

B. Such silicas lead z. B. in rubber mixtures for inner tire components to particularly good physical properties of the vulcanizates. In addition, advantages in compound processing can result from a reduction in the mixing time while maintaining the same product properties, which lead to improved productivity. As silicas, for. B. Both those of the type Ultrasil® VN3 (trade name) from Evonik and silicas with a comparatively low BET surface area (such as Zeosil® 1115 or Zeosil® 1085, for example from Solvay) and highly dispersible silicas, so-called HD silicas (e.g. Zeosil® 1165 MP from Solvay).

In addition, vulcanization retarders can be present in the rubber mixture.
The terms “vulcanized” and “crosslinked” are used synonymously in the context of the present invention.
According to a preferred development of the invention, several accelerators are added in the final mixing stage during the production of the sulfur-crosslinkable rubber mixture.
The sulfur-crosslinkable rubber mixture according to the invention is produced according to the method customary in the rubber industry, in which a basic mixture with all components except the vulcanization system (sulfur and vulcanization-influencing substances) is first produced in one or more mixing stages. The finished mixture is produced by adding the vulcanization system in a final mixing stage. The finished mixture is processed further, e.g. by an extrusion process or calendering, and brought into the appropriate shape. Further processing then takes place by vulcanization, with sulfur crosslinking taking place due to the vulcanization system added in the context of the present invention.
The above-described rubber mixture according to the invention is particularly suitable for use in vehicle tires, in particular pneumatic vehicle tires. In principle, it can be used in all tire components, in particular in a tread, in particular in the cap of a tread with a cap / base construction.
The cap is the part of the tread of the vehicle tire that comes into contact with the road surface, while the base is the radially underneath inner part of the tread that does not come into contact with the road.

Als Body-Mischung werden hierbei die Kautschukmischungen für die inneren Bauteile eines Reifen bezeichnet, wie im Wesentlichen Squeegee, Innenseele (Innenschicht), Kernprofil, Gürtel, Schulter, Gürtelprofil, Karkasse, Wulstverstärker, Wulstprofil, Hornprofil und Bandage. Der noch unvulkanisierte Reifenrohling wird anschließend vulkanisiert. The rubber mixes for the inner components of a tire are called body mixes, such as squeegee, inner liner (inner layer), core profile, belt, shoulder, belt profile, carcass, bead reinforcement, bead profile, horn profile and bandage. The as yet unvulcanized green tire is then vulcanized.
To use the rubber mixture according to the invention in belts and belts, in particular in conveyor belts, the extruded, yet unvulcanized, mixture is brought into the appropriate shape and often provided with reinforcements such as synthetic fibers or steel cords at the same time or afterwards.
