A simplified joining of the sheet metal parts (1, 2) with increased precision and quality is achieved in that the sheet metal parts (1, 2) are mechanically acted against each other with the aid of at least one glass ceramic plate (3, 4), with the joining energy required for joining at least one of the at least one glass ceramic plates (3, 4) is transferred through onto the joining means.
Description
The present invention relates to a method for joining two sheet metal parts, which are used in particular in a heat exchanger.
Sheet metal parts are components made of a sheet-like, flat metallic or metal-containing material. In a number of applications it is necessary to join such sheet metal parts together. Such sheet metal parts are often used in heat exchangers in particular and have to be joined together.
This is usually done by materially joining the sheet metal parts to one another, for example by soldering, in particular hard soldering, the sheet metal parts being placed against one another via associated end faces for this purpose in order to then solder them with the help of a joining agent, in particular solder, which is located between the end faces . For this purpose, in particular during soldering, the sheet metal parts are exposed to elevated temperatures, for example in an oven, in order to achieve the temperature required for joining. Such joining of the sheet metal parts is complex and costly. In addition, the prolonged elevated temperatures can damage the sheet metal parts or their quality deteriorate. For example, the structure, in particular the structure, of the sheet metal parts can change.
A disadvantage of the methods known from the prior art is in particular that a relative positioning of the sheet metal parts to one another before the joining process is cumbersome or can only be carried out imprecisely, so that the sheet metal parts joined together are cumbersome and thus produced at increased costs or have insufficient precision and thus have a reduced quality.
The present invention is therefore concerned with the object of specifying an improved or at least different embodiment for a method for joining two sheet metal parts of the type mentioned at the beginning, which is characterized in particular by simple and precise joining of the sheet metal parts.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the subject matter of independent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.
The present invention is based on the general idea of using at least one glass ceramic plate for joining two sheet metal parts in order to mechanically act on the sheet metal components against one another. The flat structure of the at least one glass ceramic plate results in a uniform loading of the sheet metal components and thus precise fixing of the sheet metal parts relative to one another, so that the sheet metal parts are joined with increased precision. The high mechanical stability of the at least one glass ceramic plate also allows increased forces to be transferred to the sheet metal parts, so that during the joining process there is no or at least significantly reduced displacements of the sheet metal components relative to one another. This leads to a further precision in joining the sheet metal parts to one another. The at least one glass ceramic plate also allows the energy required for joining, also referred to below as joining energy, to be transmitted through the glass ceramic plate. Accordingly, an energy source for transmitting the joining energy can be arranged on the side of the at least one glass ceramic plate facing away from the sheet metal parts, so that joining the sheet metal parts is simplified. In particular, in this way the joining energy can be transmitted over a large area through the glass ceramic plate, so that the energy is correspondingly transferred over a large area and homogeneously to the joining means required for the joining. This also leads to an improved quality of the sheet metal parts joined together.
In accordance with the concept of the invention, the two sheet metal parts are first provided for joining the sheet metal parts. The respective sheet metal part has an end face via which the sheet metal part is to be joined to the other sheet metal part, this end face also being referred to below as the contact end face. Before the joining energy is transferred to join the sheet metal parts to one another, a joining means is attached to at least one of the contact end faces. In addition, the contact end faces are arranged against one another. The sheet metal parts are then mechanically acted upon against one another with at least one glass ceramic plate in such a way that the contact end faces are fixed relative to one another. Here, the at least one glass ceramic plate is arranged on the side of one of the associated sheet metal parts facing away from the contact end face. In addition, the joining energy is transmitted through at least one of the at least one glass ceramic plates to the joining means and thus the sheet metal parts are joined to one another. Subsequently, at least one of the at least one glass ceramic plates is separated from the ones that have been joined to one another Sheet metal parts removed and the joined sheet metal parts removed.
During joining, the joining means are preferably used to join the sheet metal parts to one another. The sheet metal parts are therefore, in particular, joined to one another with a material bond.
In the present case, the joining energy is that which, when acting on the joining means, leads to joining of the sheet metal parts to one another. In particular, the joining energy results in the joining agent heating up.
The joined sheet metal parts can in principle be used in any application. In particular, the sheet metal parts are used in a heat exchanger in which they serve in particular to transfer heat and / or to delimit a flow path.
The respective sheet metal part can in principle be designed and / or shaped as desired. In particular, at least one of the sheet metal parts can be designed as a plate, in particular as a cooling plate of a heat exchanger.
The respective sheet metal part can in principle be made of any material, provided that it can be joined to the other sheet metal part in the manner described. At least one of the sheet metal parts is preferably made from a metal or an alloy. This is particularly aluminum or an aluminum alloy.
At least one of the sheet metal parts can therefore be an aluminum cooling plate.
The attachment of the joining means to at least one of the contact end faces is expediently carried out before the contact end faces are arranged on one another. It is also conceivable to introduce the joining means between the contact end faces after the contact end faces have been arranged on one another, so that the joining means is attached to at least one of the contact end faces, advantageously to both contact end faces.
Beispielsweise kann es sich beim Fügemittel um ein Klebstoff handelnThe joining means is basically any means with which the sheet metal parts can be joined to one another. For example, the joining means can be an adhesive
The joining means is advantageously a solder. This means that the sheet metal parts are soldered to one another, in particular hard-soldered.
The joining agent can in principle have any consistency. In particular, the joining agent can be in liquid or powder form and attached to at least one of the sheet metal components.
It is also conceivable to provide the joining means as a layer or layer which is attached to at least one of the contact end faces.
It is also conceivable to plate the joining means on at least one of the contact end faces. This means in particular that at least one of the contact end faces can be solder-plated.
The glass ceramic plate preferably has a high level of flatness. This means that the sheet metal parts are mechanically acted upon each other homogeneously and evenly during the joining process. This leads to a correspondingly uniform and homogeneous production of the joint connection between the contact end faces and thus the sheet metal parts, so that the quality of the sheet metal parts joined together is increased.
Embodiments are preferred in which the at least one glass ceramic plate has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. This means that the glass ceramic plate expands as little as possible during the transfer of the joining energy. Thus, the mechanical loading of the sheet metal parts can take place more evenly and more precisely. This also allows rapid transfer of the joining energy, in particular rapid heating of the sheet metal parts. As a result, the duration of the increased temperature of the sheet metal parts is reduced, so that corresponding structural changes in the sheet metal parts, in particular changes in the structure of the sheet metal parts, are prevented or at least reduced. This also leads to an increased quality of the sheet metal parts joined together.
The at least one glass ceramic plate is expediently larger in area than the associated component, so that the glass ceramic plate at least partially protrudes laterally over the associated component. This leads to the fact that with the glass ceramic plate the associated component is evenly acted upon mechanically against the other sheet metal part over the entire surface. As a result, the sheet metal parts are acted upon with increased precision and homogeneously relative to one another during the joining process and are thus fixed. This leads to an increased quality and precision of the joined sheet metal parts.
Embodiments are preferred in which the sheet metal parts are arranged between two such glass ceramic plates for mechanical loading against one another. This means in particular that the sheet metal parts are clamped between the glass ceramic plates. As a result, the sheet metal components are subjected to one another homogeneously on both sides, so that further precision of the Fixing of the sheet metal parts relative to one another and a more homogeneous loading of the sheet metal parts against one another takes place. This leads to an increased quality of the components joined together and a further simplification for joining the sheet metal parts to one another. It is also possible in this way to transfer the joining energy through both glass ceramic plates. This means that the joining energy is transmitted more homogeneously, so that the quality of the sheet metal parts joined together is further increased. In addition, this allows a faster transfer of the joining energy, in particular a faster heating of the sheet metal parts, so that corresponding structural changes to the sheet metal parts are further reduced. Alternatively, it is thus possible to transmit the joining energy via one of the glass ceramic plates and to monitor the joining process via the other glass ceramic plate, for which purpose an optical monitoring device, in particular a camera, can be used, for example.
It is preferred if an outer side facing away from the contact end face of at least one of the sheet metal parts, advantageously the outer sides of both sheet metal parts, is at least substantially flat. This means that the outside lies entirely in a flat plane and is thus flat or can have deformations that deviate from the plane, for example local depressions and elevations, and is therefore essentially flat. This increases the area for force transmission from the associated glass ceramic plate to the sheet metal part and thus leads to a more homogeneous loading of the sheet metal parts against one another.
In principle, the at least one glass ceramic plate can act on the associated sheet metal part for mechanical loading of the sheet metal parts against one another with the interposition of an additional component.
It is preferred if at least one of the at least one glass ceramic plates for mechanically loading the sheet metal parts is placed directly on the associated sheet metal part, in particular on the outside of the associated sheet metal part. Thus, there is a direct transmission of force between the glass ceramic plate and the associated sheet metal part for pressing the sheet metal parts against one another and consequently an increased accuracy in pressing the sheet metal parts against one another. In addition, the distance between the glass ceramic plate and the contact end faces is reduced in this way. As a result, losses are reduced in the transmission of the joining energy, so that the joining of the sheet metal parts with one another is more efficient.
In preferred embodiments, the sheet metal parts are mechanically acted upon against one another with a predetermined force.
It is preferred if a predetermined maximum force is not exceeded when the sheet metal parts are mechanically loaded against one another.
For this purpose, a spacer can be arranged on the outside of the sheet metal parts in contact, on which at least one of the at least one glass ceramic plates strikes when the sheet metal parts are mechanically applied, so that further displacement of the glass ceramic plate in the direction of the associated sheet metal part is prevented or at least made considerably more difficult not to exceed a specified maximum force for mechanically loading the sheet metal parts against each other.
Embodiments prove to be advantageous in which on the outside of the sheet metal parts in contact a frame surrounding the sheet metal parts is arranged, on which at least one of the at least one glass ceramic plates, advantageously both glass ceramic plates, rests upon mechanical impact. Here, the frame and the at least one glass ceramic plate, preferably the two glass ceramic plates, delimit a volume in which the sheet metal parts are arranged, the volume being sealed off from the outside by the frame and the at least one glass ceramic plate. This prevents or at least reduces an exchange of air between the volume and the environment. In particular, the penetration of oxygen into the volume is thus prevented or at least reduced. As a result, the joining process can be carried out with increased quality and precision.
It is preferred if the spacer and the frame are the same component. This means in particular that the frame also serves as a stop. The joining of the sheet metal parts to one another is thus further simplified.
To transmit the joining energy, an energy source is advantageously arranged on the side facing away from the sheet metal parts of at least one of the glass ceramic plates. It is also conceivable to arrange at least two energy sources on the side facing away from the sheet metal parts of at least one of the glass ceramic plates.
Infrared radiation can be used as joining energy, which is transmitted through at least one of the glass ceramic plates to the next adjacent sheet metal part in order to heat the sheet metal part, the joining agent and the other sheet metal part and thus join the sheet metal parts together. The glass ceramic plate through which the infrared radiation is transmitted is expediently at least partially, advantageously completely, permeable to infrared radiation.
In preferred embodiments, the joining energy is at least partially, preferably completely, transmitted through at least one inductor arranged on the side facing away from the sheet metal parts of at least one of the glass ceramic plates. This means that the sheet metal parts are inductively joined to one another, in particular soldered. This has the advantage that the joining energy can be transferred independently of the optical properties of the sheet metal parts and / or the glass ceramic plates. With the inductive transfer of the joining energy, there is consequently a reduction in the energetic, in particular thermal, losses and thus an improvement in the energy balance when joining the sheet metal parts.
The glass ceramic plate, on the side of which the inductor is arranged, is expediently at least partially, preferably completely, permeable to magnetic beams generated by the inductor.
Embodiments are preferred in which at least one transformer sheet surrounding the inductor is provided, the transformer sheet being designed and / or arranged in such a way that the magnetic field generated by the at least one of the at least one inductors is applied to at least one of the contact end faces and / or to the Joining agent aligns.
It is conceivable to accommodate at least one of the energy sources, i.e. in particular at least one infrared radiator and / or at least one inductor, in an enclosure or a housing that is open on one side so that the joining energy is transmitted through the open side. Such a glass ceramic plate is expediently placed on the open side so that the joining energy reaches the sheet metal parts through the glass ceramic plate.
