Description
The invention is based on a method for processing a press jacket. Furthermore, the invention relates to a press cover produced by the method, a press roll, a shoe press and the use of a press jacket for such.
Pressing devices such as shoe presses have long been part of modern paper machines. They essentially comprise a stationary arranged shoe (also called press shoe), which extends in a cross-machine direction and a rotating around the stationary shoe press cover. The latter is deformable and assumes a substantially tubular shape during operation. The shoe is shaped so that it forms a press nip with a counter-roller. The press nip is defined by the contact surface of the counter roll in the shoe. The shoe is movable and can be moved to the counter roll.
There are enormous demands on the press shell in terms of its stability, namely with regard to surface hardness, resistance to pressure, temperature and hydrolysis. The press cover is also exposed during operation strong Biegewechselbelastungen. When entering the shoe rim - seen in the direction of rotation of the press jacket in front of the press nip - first takes a bend under a relatively small radius. This goes immediately into an opposite bend when passing through the press nips. When leaving the other shoe edge, ie - seen in the direction of rotation of the press jacket after the press nip - again an opposite bending. This deformation of the press jacket during entry and exit is also referred to as Alternate. It is readily apparent that the tendency of the press jacket, especially at this point to break, is very high due to the high mechanical stress. Accordingly, many measures are known from the prior art, which should increase the stability of the press jacket.
The press cover must therefore be sufficiently flexible so that it can be guided around the shoe. It must be sufficiently stiff so that it does not deform or compress too much in the nip under the pressing load. Furthermore, it must be sufficiently resistant to wear. Press jackets are therefore made of a single or multi-ply polymer layer, preferably of polyurethane, into the reinforcing structures e.g. can be embedded in threads in the form of loops or fabrics.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft derartige eingangs genannte, gattungsgemäße Gegenstände. The present invention relates to such initially mentioned, generic objects.
Although known from the prior art press jackets have sufficient flexibility and at the same time sufficient rigidity, their mechanical properties are in need of improvement.
It is accordingly an object of the invention to provide a press cover which avoids the disadvantages of the prior art.
The object is solved by the features of the independent claims. Particularly preferred and advantageous embodiments of the invention are given in the subclaims.
For the purposes of the invention, with a shoe press, e.g. a pressing device for dewatering or treatment, such as smoothing, meant a fibrous web. The shoe press comprises a shoe press roll and a counter roll which together form or define a press nip. The shoe press roll further comprises a rotating press cover and a stationary pressing element, the so-called press shoe. The latter is supported on a supporting, also standing yoke - for example via hydraulic pressing elements - and is pressed with its inner surface at least temporarily to the rotating press cover. The press cover is thereby pressed in the press nip against the counter roll. By the term standing is meant that the pressing element does not rotate relative to the shoe press roll or the counter roll, but translational - on the counter roll to and away from her, preferably in the radial direction - and thus can move relative to the counter roll. In addition to the fibrous web and the press jacket, one or more circumferentially endlessly circulating felts and / or further endlessly circulating press bands can be guided through the press nip of the shoe press. Of course, such a shoe press may comprise more than one press nip.
For the purposes of the invention, a fibrous web is to be understood as a scrim of fibers, such as wood fibers, synthetic fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers, additives, additives or the like. Thus, the fibrous web may be formed, for example, as a paper, cardboard or tissue web. It may essentially comprise wood fibers, with small amounts of other fibers or additives and additives may be present. Depending on the application, this is left to the skilled person.
Under a press cover in the context of the invention is a band or a coat to understand that / as shown, is performed together with a fibrous web through the press nip a shoe press. The press cover is here as a in Circumferentially executed around its longitudinal axis endless, closed jacket. At its axial ends it is - viewed in the width direction (along the longitudinal axis) - open. Thus, the press cover can be held at these axial ends of two lateral clamping disks to form the shoe press roll. Instead of the guide through the two side clamping disks, the press belt, as is the case with open shoe presses, can be guided over the press shoe and a plurality of guide rollers. The surface of such a press jacket, that is, for example, its radially outermost polymer layer-that is, the jacket surface facing the fibrous web-can be provided with structures such as grooves and / or blind bores.
If according to the present invention, a relative indication such as "radially outermost polymer layer" or "radially innermost polymer layer" or any other reference to the radial direction of the press jacket, then this is always meant from the viewing direction, in which the finished press cover is arranged in the shoe press and for the intended use is provided.
The press cover may be partially or completely made of a polymer. In this case, a pourable, curable, preferably elastomeric polymer such as polyurethane can be used as the polymer. The polymer can thus be adjusted as cast elastomer. The press cover may be made of a single or multiple polymer layers.
For the purposes of the invention, a finished press cover is one whose at least one polymer layer has hardened and finished, that is to say for the purpose stated at the outset in, for example, US Pat. a shoe press is ready for use. Analog is meant by finished polymer layer, a layer which has cured. A cured polymer layer is one that has undergone the crosslinking process during its preparation (preferably without additional postcrosslinking).
By polymer layer is meant a layer comprising or entirely made of such a castable, curable, preferably elastomeric polymer. The polymer layer may preferably be a hardened layer produced in one piece by primary shaping. In other words, this is a monolithic urgeformt, so by e.g. Casting made. The term one-piece also includes cases in which the one layer was again made by casting the polymer from multiple layers of the same material. However, this only insofar as these layers are essentially no longer visible after curing, but a single, preferably uniform layer results. The same applies accordingly for the finished press cover.
When providing a plurality of polymer layers, these may be arranged one above the other in the radial direction. Preferably, exactly one, two or three polymer layers are provided as functional layers. These can be made identical in terms of their polymer.
Particle radiation is understood to mean radiation whose constituents have a mass which is different from zero, that is, e.g. Electrons. Particle radiation is provided by appropriate sources such as electron beam guns.
Wave radiation in the sense of the present invention is electromagnetic radiation, such as thermal, infrared, UV or light radiation. Wave radiation is emitted from respective heat or light sources, e.g. a laser provided.
In the sense of geometric optics, the term beam is understood to mean a beam of rays of exactly or approximately parallel individual beams.
If energy density is mentioned, then the quotient of the power of the beam source in watts and the area of the boundary of the impinging beam (spot) imaged on the lateral surface in cm 2 are meant in the sense of the present invention. The power of the beam source may be its maximum power. If the beam source is a laser, a power between 100 and 1000 W and a spot between 0.3 and 3 cm 2 can be used. Thus, energy densities between about 300 to 3000 W / cm 2 can be set, which cause a local melting, decomposition or evaporation of the material of the polymer layer. For the treatment of the lateral surface by means of particle radiation, such as by means of an electron beam, the corresponding energy densities are significantly lower than those of the laser treatment. They can have a fraction, such as 1/10 or 1/100 of the stated energy density of laser radiation.
The term intended use is to be understood as meaning the use of the press jacket for the purpose intended for it, ie in the press device for dewatering or treatment, such as smoothing, of a fibrous web. At this time, the press cover is ready. He is then in this, e.g. installed in a press device associated with the machine.
If it is mentioned that the irradiation takes place after a curing of the at least one polymer layer or the entire press jacket or after a mechanical processing of the press jacket, then the time of manufacture of the press jacket is meant. The inventive Irradiation therefore takes place at or immediately after production and preferably before the intended use of the press jacket. It could also be said that the irradiation (or processing) of the press jacket according to the invention is still part of the production process of such.
The term thermal removal refers to a manufacturing process in which individual workpiece layers or parts are separated from the workpiece in a non-mechanical way, ie thermally. Based on the at least one polymer layer, there parts of these are removed by local overheating of the material of the polymer layer above its melting, destruction or evaporation temperature. Such thermal erosion may e.g. by wave radiation, such as laser radiation done.
It has been found that as a result of the thermal removal of the crack of such an irradiated press jacket is reduced. The local heating above the polymer layer above the melting temperature of the material of the polymer results in a partial melting of the polymer, here polyurethane. Especially when structures, such as grooves or holes are incorporated into the lateral surface by means of laser beam, the material melts at the boundaries of the structures. This reduces the tendency of such a press jacket to crack in comparison to a known, cutting-off production of such structures. Because such a production is always accompanied by microcracks. According to the invention, therefore, the mechanical properties of a press jacket provided with corresponding structures can be considerably improved.
Subsequent crosslinking is the subsequent crosslinking of an already crosslinked material, here the at least one polymer layer. In macromolecular chemistry, crosslinking refers to reactions in which a large number of individual macromolecules are linked into a three-dimensional network. The linkage can be achieved either directly in the construction of the macromolecules or by reactions on already existing polymers. The process of cross-linking changes the properties of the cross-linked materials. Generally, an increase in hardness, toughness, melting point and a decrease in the solubility of the material is observed. The change increases with the degree of crosslinking, the proportion of crosslinked sites based on the total amount of polymer. Such postcrosslinking may e.g. done by particle radiation. In this case, the energy density is selected such that the material of the polymer layer to be irradiated is not heated above its melting, destructing or evaporating temperature.
By the term "change in the mechanical properties of the irradiated polymer layer" the modification is e.g. the hardness or ductility of the polymer layer understood. In this case, the irradiation is analogous to that described in the post-crosslinking with comparatively low energy densities, so that the material of the polymer layer to be irradiated is locally treated below its melting, destructive or evaporating temperature.
The treatment of the polymer layer by means of particle radiation can specifically influence the hardness or ductility thereof. Thus, the object of the invention can be solved particularly well.
When referring to local irradiation, it is meant that only parts of the surface of the polymer layer are irradiated at one time. This means that at the same time the remaining parts of the lateral surface of the polymer layer are not irradiated. Locally irradiated area are parallel to the lateral surface of the polymer layer extending and thus a partial surface of the total surface area of the polymer layer limiting structure. The locally irradiated areas are thus locally limited areas of the lateral surface of the polymer layer which are overlined by the radiation. Locally irradiated and non-irradiated areas adjoin one another directly along the lateral surface. If, for example, bores or grooves are produced by thermal removal, then the individual bores or the grooves constitute the irradiated regions per se and the remaining material of the polymer layer surrounding these structures corresponding to the non-irradiated region of the polymer layer.
For the purposes of the invention, a structure is understood to be a surface drawing which is visible to the human eye and remains constant, ie which does not change after the irradiation.
A pattern in the sense of the invention consists of repetitive, preferably periodically repeating structures. Like the structure, the at least one pattern may be evenly distributed over substantially the entire surface of the at least one polymer layer. Pattern or structure can extend substantially over the entire length and width direction of the press jacket. Essentially, this means at least 50% of the corresponding value. Also several different patterns on one and the same lateral surface of the polymer layer are conceivable.
The structures or patterns can be formed both from depressions and / or elevations (projections and / or depressions) of the polymer layer. These may be grooves, as several of them spread over the circumference of each other Press mantle (or the lateral surface of the polymer layer) extending circumferential grooves or one or more spirally extending over the circumference spiral grooves act.
The structures may also be in the form of bores, such as blind holes or through holes. Combinations of grooves and holes within the lateral surface of the polymer layer are conceivable. Grooves and holes may have any shape seen in a cross section through the longitudinal axis of the press jacket. Preferably, the contour of each structure, that is, such a bore or groove in a plan view of this correspond to a planar geometric figure. The latter are e.g. Polygons, circles and their conic sections and combinations thereof. The volumes that limit this structure can be correspondingly three-dimensional geometric figures, such as spherical shells, truncated cones, etc. Also, several different contours on one and the same lateral surface of the respective polymer layer are conceivable.
An advantageous development of the invention provides that the surface of the structures has a certain roughness. It has been shown that less rough surfaces positively affect the drainage performance of such structures. Especially when the inner surfaces of the blind holes or grooves have an average roughness Rz less than 50 microns, preferably less than 30 microns, more preferably less than 10 microns and these preferably between 1 .mu.m and 50 .mu.m, preferably between 1 .mu.m and 30 .mu.m, and particularly preferably between 1 μm and 10 μm.
As is known to the person skilled in the art, the average roughness depth Rz is determined by dividing a defined measuring path on the inner surface of a through-channel into seven individual measuring sections, the mean five measuring sections being of equal size. The evaluation takes place only over these five measuring sections, since the Gaussian filter to be used requires half a single measuring section upstream or downstream or a folding has a non-negligible entry and exit behavior. From each of these individual measuring sections of the profile, the difference between maximum and minimum value is determined. From the thus obtained five single roughnesses the mean value is formed.
In principle, it is conceivable that the press cover has a reinforcing structure. By the term reinforcing structure in the sense of the invention is meant an enhancement of the at least one layer containing or consisting of the polymer, ie the polymer layer. In this case, the reinforcing structure can be completely embedded in the respective polymer layer so that the reinforcing structure does not go beyond the boundary of the respective polymer layer. In other words, the polymer layer plays the role of a matrix surrounding the reinforcing structure and bonding to the matrix as a result of adhesion or cohesive forces. Such a reinforcing structure can textile line structures -. As yarns or threads - and / or textile fabrics - such. Woven, knitted, knitted, braided, or scrim - and made from an appropriate starting material, e.g. be produced by winding. Starting material is understood to be that material or semifinished product by means of which the reinforcing structure of the finished press jacket according to the invention is produced. Preferably, the reinforcing structure is arranged in the radially inner, more preferably in the radially innermost polymer layer. As a result, the advantages of the invention can be implemented particularly well.
As a textile fabric in the context of the present invention apply sheet-like structures such. As fabrics, knitted fabrics, knits, braids, scrim or lace structures. Such textile fabrics are basically made of a plurality of linear structures, such as threads. In the case of flat structures, therefore, the linear formations form openings of the fabric or limit these. It could also be said that the fabric is made in the manner of a net or grid and the openings are the meshes of the net or grid. These openings, viewed in plan view of such a sheet, may have different geometric shapes, such as polygons, e.g. Assume rhombs, squares or hexagons.
The term woven fabric is understood to mean a textile fabric woven from warp and weft threads. Warp and weft threads cross each other. The fabric may comprise a single or a plurality of different, preferably a plurality of different thread systems in their mechanical properties. But it is also conceivable that such fabrics are used, in which the threads of warp and weft are made of the same material. Threads that serve as warp and weft threads touch each other at the crossing points.
A knit or knit can be knitwear. The term knitted fabric is understood to mean those fabrics in which a loop formed by means of a thread is looped into another loop. Knitted fabrics can be obtained, for example, by knitting or crocheting, each stitch being formed from a single thread, stitch by stitch. Knitted fabrics consist of one or more thread systems. A noose engages in the loop of the preceding course. In the case of the knitted fabric, on the other hand, at least two thread systems are used and the stitches of one course are formed simultaneously. The loops define here the crossing points at which the threads touch each other.
The term braid is understood to mean entanglement or interlocking between directly adjacent threads. The threads can be designed spirally. The self-supporting fabric looks as if the individual threads were produced by interlacing the spirals. So, as if a thread were screwed lengthwise into a neighboring thread, so that both spirals snuggle into each other and touch at the crossing points. The longitudinal central axes of the spirals are then parallel to each other in this fabric. One speaks then of a spiral braid.
In principle, it will be distinguished whether or not the sheets are self-supporting after their production. This applies to the structures mentioned above except for the scrim. Although scrims are also fabrics that consist of one or more layers of parallel threads. However, the latter are not fixed to one another at their intersection points in terms of material, force or form fit. Such a fabric is therefore not sustainable even after being laid, i. that it loses the shape given to it upon relocation. To maintain its shape, the superimposed threads must be held compulsorily.
The threads of such a textile fabric - and thus the fabrics themselves - may be made of or include a polymer.
Furthermore, the present invention relates to a preferably produced by the novel process press coating comprising at least one polymer layer, wherein the lateral surface of the at least one polymer layer is locally irradiated by means of particle radiation or wave radiation.
The present invention also relates to a press roll, such as a shoe press roll, for a shoe press for treating a fibrous web, wherein the press roll has at least one press jacket according to the invention.
In addition, the invention relates to a shoe press for treating a fibrous web, preferably a paper, board, tissue or pulp web, comprising a press roll and a backing roll, which together form or define a nip, wherein the press roll comprises a rotating press cover and the press cover according to the invention is formed.
In principle, the present invention is also applicable to transfer tapes. Such a transfer belt could be produced or processed analogously to the press cover according to a method according to claims 1 to 12. The same applies to the inventive use of such a conveyor belt according to the independent claim. Under transfer belt according to the present invention, an endless, so closed and tubular belt is understood, which is wrapped around its rollers on its first lateral surface and rotates and carries on its first lateral surface opposite the second lateral surface of the fibrous web. The transport of the fibrous web takes place in a first embodiment through a press nip, so that the conveyor belt passes through the nip between a press roll, such as shoe press roll and a corresponding counter roll. In a further embodiment, the fibrous web is transported by a shoe press to a corresponding drying cylinder, which may be heated. The fibrous web is passed, for example, from a shoe press to the outer circumference of the drying cylinder. This is the transfer tape again wrapped around its rollers on its first lateral surface and carries on its first lateral surface opposite the second lateral surface of the fibrous web from the first press nip, namely from the shoe press out to a second transfer point between a roller and the drying cylinder. Regardless of the illustrated embodiment, the transfer belt may have corresponding structures according to the invention.
