Description
The invention relates to an open-end rotor spinning machine comprising a plurality of jobs, each having a spinning rotor, drive means for variable-speed driving the spinning rotors, measuring means for detecting yarn breaks and evaluation means for determining a yarn breakage rate.
Open-end rotor spinning machines have a large number of jobs. At each workstation, a fiber sliver provided in a sliver can is fed to a spinning device. These spinning devices include a spinning rotor which rotates during the high-speed spinning process in a vacuum-pressurized rotor housing closed by a cover element. From the spinning device, a spun yarn is withdrawn by means of a take-off device and wound onto a cross-wound bobbin.

Here, the deposited fibers are given rotation due to the torsional moment of the rotating yarn end. This rotation produces the yarn strength necessary for the yarn withdrawal. When the yarn is pulled out of the rotor groove, the yarn must have a strength which is greater than the centrifugal force generated by the yarn circulation in the rotor. Otherwise, the thread would already tear in the region of the rotor. With an almost constant breaking force, the centrifugal force of the rotating yarn end increases quadratically with increasing rotor speed. This results in a doubling of the rotor speed to a fourfold thread tension in the rotor. The risk of yarn breakage in the region of the rotor thus increases with the increase in the rotor speed.
The yarn break rate, which can be accepted when operating an open-end rotor spinning machine, depends on the number of means available for thread breakage. The yarn break rate is the number of yarn breaks based on the operating time of the open-end rotor spinning machine or a job. The thread breakage is corrected by a piecing. The piecing can be semiautomatic, that is, an operator is required for piecing. The piecing can also be done automatically by means of a piecing carriage. There are also known machines in which the piecing can be performed automatically at a job automatically. In the first case, the number of acceptable thread breaks depends on the number of available operators. In the second case, the permissible yarn breakage rate is determined by the number of piecing cars. When autarkic piecing at the workstations, it is important to know how many piecers can be performed in parallel, without affecting a sufficient vacuum supply. Due to the conditions described, a maximum permissible yarn breakage number can be specified.
The productivity of the open-end rotor spinning machine increases with increasing rotor speed. Therefore, it is desirable that the spinning rotors be operated at the maximum possible speed.
Due to the large number of influencing factors, the maximum rotor speed can not be determined analytically. The rotor speed can only be determined experimentally by an operator, with the maximum speed always having to be redetermined as soon as one parameter changes, for example changing the yarn parameters or using a different rotor. The execution of these experiments is complex and labor-intensive. Under certain circumstances, the production maximum is not reached.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to increase the productivity of the open-end rotor spinning machine.
The object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
To achieve the object, the open-end rotor spinning machine comprises control means which are adapted to automatically set the rotational speed of the spinning rotors as a function of the respective determined yarn breakage rate and thereby to control the yarn breakage rate such that the yarn breakage rate is below a maximum yarn breakage rate in a predetermined nominal range.
According to the invention, the open-end rotor spinning machine for regulating the yarn break rate thus comprises a control loop, the yarn break rate acting as a control variable and the rotational speed of the spinning rotor as a manipulated variable. As a result of the regulation according to the invention, the rotational speed of the spinning rotor can be set automatically without a maximum permissible yarn breakage rate being exceeded. The operator only has to specify a nominal yarn break rate for the control loop. Thus, the invention provides a simple way to optimally adjust the speed of the spinning rotor and thus to increase productivity.
According to a preferred embodiment, the control means are also adapted to limit the speed of the spinning rotor so that a predetermined maximum speed is not exceeded and a predetermined minimum speed is not exceeded. In this way, other factors influencing the permissible speed can be taken into account. For example, the yarn quality specifies a permissible range. A maximum speed must not be exceeded for safety reasons.
Preferably, the control means comprise a comparison device, which is designed to determine the deviation of an actual yarn breakage rate from a desired yarn breakage rate. Furthermore, the control means may comprise a controller which adjusts a rotational speed of the spinning rotor as a function of the deviation.
According to a preferred embodiment, the evaluation means are adapted to determine the mean value of the yarn breakage rate of several jobs and the control means are adapted to control the mean value of the yarn breakage rate. A control of the mean value can be done regardless of how the spinning rotor is driven. That is, it is not important for this type of regulation, whether the spinning rotors are driven centrally or the spinning rotor of a job is acted upon by a single drive.
According to a preferred alternative embodiment, the evaluation means are adapted to determine the yarn break rate of a single job and the drive means and the control means are adapted to control the yarn break rate of the individual job. In an individual control of the yarn break rate at each work not only the control means must be designed accordingly, but also the drive means. Preferably, each spinning rotor has a single drive. With such a design, each job can be optimally utilized and the spinning rotor can be operated at its maximum speed. Due to the unavoidable manufacturing tolerances of the spinning rotor and other components of the workplace, the resulting at each job maximum speeds may well be different.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawings.
