By incorporating photoinitiators, the hardening of the dental restoration materials can be achieved by irradiation with light, especially by light of the wavelengths of 250-500 nm. As photoactive components, camphorquinone / triethanolamine, camphorquinone / N.N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate or isopropylthioxanthone / triethanolamine are incorporated. The concentration of camphorquinone and isopropylthioxanthone is in a range of 0.1-1.0 Ma .-%, din of triethanolamine or Ν, Ν-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate between 0.2 and 2.0 wt .-%, based on the polymerizable matrix , The temporal processing width is not limited here. It is also possible to cure or postharden outside the mouth by irradiation and heating. The curing can also be carried out by heating without exposure to light, if per se known thermally activatable initiators, such as benzoyl peroxide, Cumyldroperoxid be added in a mass fraction of 0.2-2.2Ma .-%. This procedure can be used for the production of crowns and bridges or inlay materials.
The hardening of the dental restoration materials is also possible via a two-component system. Here, a mixing of z. B. two partial phases A and B or a liquid with a filler, wherein the components contain a redox initiator system separately. The processing width here is 2.5 to 4 minutes. It is also possible to use the highly dispersed silicate xerogel of the invention for the preparation of a restoration material for artificial teeth. For this purpose, after mixing the special filler with initiators and an organic monomer mixture consisting of a high-viscosity binder and a diluent monomers, a mouldable paste is prepared, the ζ. B. is polymerized at 90 ° C under pressure in a metal mold to form a tooth or a veneer. The teeth and veneers produced in this way have a very good mechanical strength and show a translucent, melt-like appearance.
Die Partikelgröße dieser zusätzlichen Teilchen liegt im Bereich von 0,01-20pm.The excellent properties of the dental restorative materials according to the invention are not significantly affected if they are added to other fillers in addition to a major portion of the specific filler, such as ceramics, glasses, quartz, quartz glass, silicic acids or inorganic / organic composite fillers. The particle size of these additional particles is in the range of 0.01-20pm.
A customary incorporation of pigments, preferably of CaF 2 , BaSO 4 and TiO 2 , is easily possible in order to achieve certain color shades frequently used in dental practice.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Zahnrestaurationswerkstoffe zeigen insbesondere folgende Vorteile und wertvolle Eigenschaften im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Restaurationswerkstoffen der Dentalpraxis:Surprisingly, it has been found that the tooth restoration materials according to the invention can be machined extremely well after curing. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent polishability of the surfaces that can be brought to a shine. Despite the filler particles ranging in size from 2 to 4 μm, smooth homogeneous surfaces are obtained. The filler particles are not broken during polishing. The dental restorative materials according to the invention have in particular the following advantages and valuable properties in comparison to conventional restorative materials of dental practice:

In a solution of 1.6 g UDMA, 0.7 g TEGMA, 0.0093 g camphorquinone, 0.0093 g triethanolamine 0.41 g of a highly dispersed siliceous xerogel are stirred homogeneously according to Example 1. This composite liquid can be used as a fissure sealant for caries protection in the occlusal area after application of the etching techniques customary in dental practice. The curing of the composite liquid takes place by 20s irradiation with the light guide cable of the Transiux EC light unit.

Die Oberfläche ist glatt, glänzend und klebefrei.3.7 g of a highly dispersed siliceous xerogel according to Example 1 are homogeneously mixed with 1.9 g of bis-GMA, 0.65 g of TEGMA, 0.6 g of 1,6-hexanediol dimethacrylate, 0.019 g of dibenzoyl peroxide. The well modelable restoration material is hardened for 40 minutes at 9O 0 C under pressure after transfer into a brass mold that corresponds to the tooth shape. The hardened tooth body is very hard and can be surface treated very well. The surface is smooth, shiny and tack-free.
Eine weitere Lösung, bestehend aus 1,6g UDMA, 0,65g TEGMA, 9,013g N,N-Dimethyl-p-toluidin, wird mit 2,45g des speziellen Füllstoffes entsprechend Beispiel 6 zu einer Paste B verarbeitet.0.7Sg of 1,4-butanediol dimethacrylate, 0.7g of Bis-GMA, 0.0135g of dibenzoyl peroxide and mixed to form a homogeneous paste (Paste A). Another solution, consisting of 1.6 g of UDMA, 0.65 g of TEGMA, 9.013 g of N, N-dimethyl-p-toluidine, is processed with 2.45 g of the special filler according to Example 6 to form a paste B.
After mixing equal amounts of paste A and B on a mixing block is obtained after 3 minutes a very hard restorative material. The surface can be polished to a high gloss by polishing using conventional techniques.
Das so erhaltene Inlaymaterial ist außerordentlich hart und weist eine glatte und porenfreie Oberfläche auf.2.81 g of a finely divided siliceous xerogel prepared with the addition of 0.069 mol of A-174 having a mean particle diameter of 2.2 μm and a specific surface of 52 m of Vg are mixed with a solution consisting of 1.6 g of 2,2-bis- / p- (methacryloyloxyethoxy) phenyl / propane, 0.7 g TEGMA, 0.012 g camphorquinone, 0.01 g triethanolamine, homogeneously mixed to form a modelable restorative material. This can be processed by means of the inlay technique used in dental practice for Seitenzahnfüllmaterial by hardening the prepared in a prepared cavity dental restoration material by irradiation using the light guide cable of a Translux EC light device, removed from the mouth and another 5 minutes in the light box of this irradiation device externally is aftercured. The resulting inlay material is extremely hard and has a smooth and non-porous surface.
