Abstract

Η παρούσα εφεύρεση εξασφαλίζει μία μέθοδο για την χορήγηση του χοίρειου παράγοντα VIII (ΟΒΙ-1) με απάλειψη της Β-περιοχής σε ένα ασθενή που έχει έλλειψη του παράγοντα VIII για να εξασφαλίσει γρηγορότερη και πιο αποτελεσματική προφύλαξη έναντι επεισοδίων αιμορραγίας, σε σύγκριση με τις επί του παρόντος διαθέσιμες μεθόδους, ή να εξασφαλίσει πιο αποτελεσματική προφύλαξη σε τέτοιους ασθενείς κατά την διάρκεια περιόδων χωρίς αιμορραγία. Η εφεύρεση αυτή βασίζεται στην ανακάλυψη ότι ο ανασυνδυασμένος με απάλειψη της Β-περιοχής χοίρειος fVIII, που ορίζεται ως ΟΒΙ-1, έχει μεγαλύτερη βιοδιαθεσιμότητα σε σύγκριση με τον φυσικό χοίρειο fVIII μερικώς καθαρισμένο από πλάσμα χοίρου, που ορίζεται ως HYATE:C. Για τον λόγο αυτό η μέθοδος της εφεύρεσης χρησιμοποιεί μικρότερες μονάδες δόσης από ΟΒΙ-1 ή έχει μεγαλύτερα ενδιάμεσα διαστήματα μεταξύ της χορήγησης, σε σύγκριση με τον HYATE:C, για να εξασφαλίσει ισοδύναμη προστασία σε ασθενείς που έχουν έλλειψη fVIII. Η εφεύρεση περαιτέρω εξασφαλίζει φαρμακευτικές συνθέσεις και τυποποιημένες συσκευασίες που περιέχουν ΟΒΙ-1 σε συνδυασμό με ένα φαρμακευτικά αποδεκτό φορέα, που είναι χρήσιμα για την πιο αποτελεσματική θεραπεία ασθενών που έχουν ανάγκη για fVIII.
