Abstract
La corrosión de los materiales ferrosos como el acero o acero inoxidable es un problema en oleoductos, tanques de almacenamiento de petróleo, y el equipo de las tuberías y de proceso en refinerías de petróleo, y esta corrosión puede disminuirse mediante la reducción del valor TAN de la reserva de petróleo que se usa/transporta dentro del material ferroso. Este valor TAN puede reducirse mediante la reacción de la reserva de petróleo con un metal alcalino, con lo cual se forma un metal alcalino desacidificado. El metal desacidificada alcalino tiene un valor TAN de menos de o igual a en mg KOH/g
