Abstract

本实用新型公开一种电连接器(1),其包括有绝缘本体(2)、若干收容于绝缘本体内的导电端子(3)及一对固持构件(4),绝缘本体上设有狭槽(212)及一对与该狭槽相连通的沟槽(213、214),固持构件包括有收容在狭槽内的主体40及一对向下延伸以与印刷电路板相结合的腿部(41),主体具有与狭槽底壁(215)相结合的倒刺(401)及一对与沟槽相结合的弹片(402、403),借助固持构件的倒刺与狭槽底壁的结合可将固持构件固持在绝缘本体内,且固持构件之腿部与电路板结合可将电连接器稳固地安装在电路板上。

电连接器
【技术领域】
本实用新型是有关一种电连接器,尤其是指一种可稳固地安装在印刷电路板上的电连接器。
【背景技术】
作为新一代个人电脑(PC)的存储端口,Serial ATA将取代Ultra ATA/100用于连接个人电脑与其主存储器。2000年11月7日Serial ATA协会于网站(http://www.maxtor.com/Quantum/src/whitepapers/wp_serialata.htm.)上公布了一篇名为《有关Serial ATA的介绍》(《Introducing Serial ATA WhitePaper》)的文章,该文将Serial ATA与其替代存储端口作了对比并介绍SerialATA电连接器的标准。Serial ATA电连接器上具有板固持装置,以将电连接器组装到印刷电路板上。
现有许多成形板固持装置的方法,如在电连接器上设置具有开孔的耳部,借助螺栓与螺母的配合而将电连接器固持在印刷电路板上。
美国专利第5,184,963号及第5,213,515号揭示了一种将电连接器安装在印刷电路板上的顶部安装板锁。电连接包括有一绝缘本体及一板锁,绝缘本体包括一板安装面及一相对面,板锁从该相对面***绝缘本体的凸缘或其它部位。当将电连接器安装到印刷电路板上时,必须借助一操作工具直接施力于板锁上,以将板锁***印刷电路板的开孔内并避免板锁反向移动而脱离电连接器的绝缘本体。显然,该种操作很不方便,因此,有必要提供一种可自动固持在绝缘本体内的板锁。
美国专利第5,228,870号揭示了一种可达成前述目的的板锁,其包括有固持在绝缘本体狭槽内的第一部分及***印刷电路板的开孔内的第二部分,该第一、二部分上设有倒刺,绝缘本体狭槽上方设有一止挡面,以防止电连接器安装在印刷电路板上时板锁反向移动。
美国专利第5,176,349号揭示了另外一种电连接器,其绝缘本体上一体成型有可收容在印刷电路板的开孔内的柱体,该柱体上设有一狭槽,弹性固持构件可从柱体横向方向***狭槽内,绝缘本体上设有一止挡面,以防止电连接安装在印刷电路板上时固持构件反向移动。这种固持构件需要成型绝缘本体与柱体的型芯,增加了制造成本,且端子与固持构件从不同方向***绝缘本体内,从而增加了电连接器的组装步骤。
美国专利第5,863,222号及第5,872,089号揭示了一种固持构件***绝缘本体内的方向与端子***方向相同的电连接器。但是,该固持构件不具有防止其从电连接器上脱离的自动固持装置。因此,有必要提供一种电连接器,以克服现有电连接器的缺陷。
【发明内容】
本实用新型的主要目的在于提供一种具有改进的固持构件的电连接器,其组装方便,并可将电连接器稳固地安装在印刷电路板上。
为实现上述目的,本实用新型采用如下技术方案:本实用新型电连接器包括有绝缘本体、若干导电端子及固持构件,其中绝缘本体具有若干向下延伸的柱体,且绝缘本体上沿电连接器的对接方向开设有贯穿所述柱体的狭槽,导电端子组装在绝缘本体上,其具有与绝缘本体相结合的安装部、自安装部向前延伸的对接部及自安装部向后延伸的焊接部,固持构件组装在绝缘本体的狭槽中,其包括有延伸超出柱体底表面的固持部及与固持部同向突出的倒刺,以与所述狭槽的底壁结合。
相较于现有技术,本实用新型借助固持构件的倒刺与狭槽底壁的结合可将固持构件固持在绝缘本体内,且其固持部延伸超出柱体而可与电路板的定位孔直接卡扣,以确保电连接器稳固地安装的电路板上。

【具体实施例】
请参照图1及图2所示,本实用新型电连接器1包括有绝缘本体2、若干收容于绝缘本体2内的导电端子3及一对组装在绝缘本体2上的固持构件4。
绝缘本体2具有用于安装在印刷电路板(未标号)上的安装面23及用于与对接插连接器对接的对接面24,绝缘本体2包括有一横梁20、位于横梁20相对两端并垂直延伸的臂部21及自横梁20对接面24向前延伸的对接板22。一个臂部21仅自横梁20向后延伸,而另一个臂部则向前后延伸。横梁20上设有若干纵向贯穿的端子通道200。对接板22的顶面上设有若干纵向延伸的开口220,每一开口220与横梁20相应的端子通道200相连通。
每一臂部21具有一向下延伸的柱体216、一纵向狭槽212及分别与狭槽212相连通的上纵向沟槽213与下纵向沟槽214,上纵向沟槽213的前端上设有前壁217(参阅第六图)。
每一导电端子3包括有一安装部30、自安装部30前端向前延伸的对接部31及自安装部30后端向后延伸的弧状焊接部32。
请参照图3所示,每一固持构件4包括有一主体40及一对自主体40向下延伸的腿部41。主体40具有自其前端底部向下延伸的倒刺401、自其后端底部侧向延伸的下弹片402及自其中部顶端侧向延伸的上弹片403。每一腿部41包括有一向外延伸的突块411及自突块411至底端的斜面412,以方便其与印刷电路板的通孔结合。
请参照图4所示,导电端子3的安装部延伸于横梁20的端子通道200内,而其对接部31则收容于对接板22的纵向开口220内,借助安装部30与端子通道200内壁干涉配合以将导电端子3固持在绝缘本体2上。固持构件4组装到绝缘本体2时,其腿部41向下延伸出柱体216,主体40收容在对应臂部21的狭槽212内,倒刺401与位于狭槽212下面的臂部底壁215相结合,下弹片402与上弹片403分别收容在下纵向沟槽214与上纵向沟槽213内。
当将电连接器1组装到印刷电路板上时,柱体216与印刷电路板上的通孔相结合,以确保电连接器1在印刷电路板上的精确定位,通过腿部41与印刷电路板的结合而将电连接器1稳固地安装在印刷电路板上。
再请参照图5-7,倒刺401与臂部21的底壁215的结合可防止固持构件4向后移动,下弹片402收容在下纵向沟槽214并与下沟槽214的侧壁相抵接。另外,上弹片403收容在上纵向沟槽213内,且每一上弹片403的前端抵接于相应的前壁217,以确保固持构件4不向后移动。固持构件4与导电端子3是以相同的方向***绝缘本体2内,因此,导电端子3与固持构件4可以一同组装到绝缘本体2内,以简化组装工序,从而降低制造成本。

Claims (7)

1.一种电连接器,包括有绝缘本体、若干导电端子及固持构件,其中绝缘本体具有若干向下延伸的柱体,且绝缘本体上沿电连接器的对接方向开设有贯穿所述柱体的狭槽,导电端子组装在绝缘本体上,其具有与绝缘本体相结合的安装部、自安装部向前延伸的对接部及自安装部向后延伸的焊接部,固持构件组装在绝缘本体的狭槽中;其特征在于:固持构件包括有延伸超出柱体底表面的固持部及与固持部同向突出的倒刺,以与所述狭槽的的底壁相结合。
2.如权力要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体包括有横梁及自横梁相对两端延伸的两臂部,所述柱体是自臂部底表面向下延伸,狭槽位于臂部上。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:固持构件具有一主体,其固持部是一对自主体向下延伸的腿部。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其特征在于:固持构件的主体具有上弹片及下弹片,上弹片自主体中部顶端侧向延伸,下弹片则自主体后端低部侧向延伸。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体的臂部上设有与狭槽相连通的上、下沟槽,固持构件的上、下弹片分别收容在该上、下沟槽内。
6.如权利要求5所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体的上沟槽前端设有前壁,固持构件的上弹片的前端抵接于该前壁。
7.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:导电端子与固持构件以相同的方向***绝缘本体内。
