Abstract

Description

具有平行刷毛对的刷毛子配件及其制造方法
发明背景
本发明一般涉及刷子及刷毛的制造,更具体地说,涉及具有与一基线固定的平行刷毛对的刷毛子配件。这里所说的那种刷毛子配件用于多种用途的,尤其是牙刷的刷毛簇的制作。
相关技术的说明
在我从前的悬而未决的申请中,描述了刷毛子配件的成形方法,简单地说,这种方法包括将聚合单丝缠绕在芯棒周围并应用热能使单圈粘结到一根或多根基线上。如图1所见,刷毛子配件的制作装置10包括一根矩形芯棒12,它有一条中心通道且其轴向两端是开口的。四根基线14、16、18、20从各自供应源22、24、26、28送进芯棒的一端。
从图1方向看,基线向下进入芯棒12并从另一端向外传递。用滑轮或轮子(未示)使基线转向大致180°,因此基线能从芯棒的四个角各自向上伸展。在基线向上行走的同时,由供应源32供应的单丝30以可控制的进给速率供向缠绕机构34。此缠绕机构34包括一台电机36来带动助卷器38,单丝30从中进给,缠绕在芯棒周围,形成许多丝圈40。这些丝圈靠基线的向上移动而向上传送。
丝圈在加热器42下面通过,在芯棒12的四个角的每一个处,设置有一个加热器(图1中只示出四个加热器中的二个)。由于热能的利用,例如通过超声波焊接,单丝圈40便通过基线的熔融或单丝的熔融,或二者均熔融,而粘结在四根基线上。粘结后的丝圈越过在回转的切刀44,在图1的实施例中有四条切刀,从而形成四根刷毛串46,其中部分示出了两条还示出一条被系紧在卷筒48上。

虽然上述刷毛串在牙刷制作方面是有利的,尤其是通过将刷毛串切成段,该段成为“刷毛子配件”,可用来组成牙刷头部上的刷毛簇,但是,在将此刷毛子配件固定到牙刷上之前有时最好是将刷毛子配件的刷毛在互相平行定位方向上固定。
发明摘要
本发明的一个目的是提供一种刷毛子配件,其刷毛对在装配时每对刷毛互相基本平行的定位。
本发明的另一目的是提供一种形成刷毛子配件的装置,在该装置中每一刷毛对的刷毛在互相大致平行的定位方向上固定。
本发明还有一个目的是提供形成刷毛子配件的方法,在该方法中每一刷毛对的刷毛在互相大致平行的定位方向上固定。
本发明又一目的是提供改变单丝刷毛定位方向的方法,通过使加热温度足够高以除去使刷毛弯向新方向时所产生的弹力,还要足够低以免引起聚合刷毛材料的分子结构有很大变化。最好在刷毛和基线的接触面发生局部熔融,以便在刷毛和基线之间提供附加的连接。
这些目的及其它目的可通过提供一种刷毛子配件来满足,该子配件包括一根基线,一个与基线连接且从基线径向向外伸出第一排刷毛,和一个与基线连接且从基线径向向外伸出的第二排刷毛,其中,第一和第二排刷毛实际上互相平行。
在本发明的另一方面,制作刷毛子配件的方法包括以下几步:刷毛串形成,该刷毛串的第一和第二排刷毛从基线向外伸出,其中第一和第二排刷毛彼此相对沿第一方向配置;将第一及第二排刷毛弯曲,获得彼此相对的第二方向,从而在该刷毛中产生使其回复到第一方向的弹力;将刷毛中的弯曲加热到足以使弹力至少减少的温度,同时保持刷毛处于第二方向,最好还在刷毛和基线之间增加一粘合区;使加热的刷毛冷却,以便刷毛保持第二方向。

优选实施例的详细说明
参看图4和5,刷毛子配件制作装置50包括第一环形皮带52和第二环形皮带54。第一环形皮带52支撑在回转滑轮56、58、60、62上,而第二环形皮带54支撑在回转滑轮64、66、68、70上。皮带52和54并列放置,以便在两条皮带平行且沿由指向箭头A表示的同方向运动的前端处限定一间隙72。
刷毛串74有一根基线和多对刷毛,不管在V形方向还是上述的平直方向,被送到间隙72区内。一“填塞轮”76压在刷毛串74上,将刷毛从大致向外方向有效地弯曲大致向上方向。在此向上方向,刷毛对的刷毛基本互相平行。
现在,在刷毛朝上平行方向的情况下,刷毛串74被第一及第二皮带52、54靠摩擦力夹在中间,传送到加热台78。虽然任何一种加热器都可用,但特别推荐应用超声能的加热器,将制造基线或刷毛或二者的热塑性材料加热。在所示实施例中,加热台78包括一喇叭形超声波辐射器80和一反射板82,它们位于皮带52和54的下面,所选择的高度应能使基线通过辐射器和反射板之间的间隙。

填塞轮76的高度可调,通常就是两条皮带52、54之间的间隙,以适应刷毛串各种尺寸。此外,导向板86位于填塞轮76的下面,当刷毛串被“填塞”在两条皮带53和54中间时,导向板可限制刷毛串下行的程度。导向板86的垂直和水平位置可调。可用任何一种众所周知的机构完成支承板86的调整。

如图中所见,两圆盘的外周面,或环形侧面略分开,因此当该圆盘在刷毛对的两刷毛92和94之间伸出时,便与基线96相反两侧贴合。同时,当刷毛串在填塞轮76下移动时皮带52和54使刷毛92和94保持平行的受折位置。
如图8中所见,弯折后,刷毛92和94互相平行且伸展在大致同一方向,基本上与基线96的方向垂直。由于刷毛92与94做成一体,所以构成这两根刷毛的单丝有一段缠绕基线;缠绕前,基线96基本上与刷毛相切,因此基线与刷毛的接触面相对较小。弯折实质上增加刷毛和基线的接触面或接触点。
为了使刷毛保持在新达到的垂直和基本平行的方向上,皮带52和54将刷毛串传送到加热台78。在应用超声波加热的实施例中,喇叭形辐射器80及反射板82最好这样来定位,使它们如图8所示,形成能让基线96及刷毛92及94通过的间隙。注意,喇叭形辐射器80及反射板82的形状有助于刷毛环绕基线侧面弯曲,因而在垂直方向增加了接触点。当向辐射器和反射板之间接触面处的刷毛和基线提供超声能时,能量的作用有二:首先,它使基线和刷毛在其接触表面发生局部熔融,这样反过来又使它们焊接在一起,从而使刷毛固定在平行的第二方向。其次,它加热鬃线,因而得到松驰,即不再有弹回到其未弯折的原始方向的倾向。离开加热台时,刷毛是凉的,并且可通过使弯曲的刷毛应力松驰,或沿基线侧面增加粘合,或二者兼有来保持其基本平行的新获得的方向。
图9示出优选装置50较多的细节。具体地说,反射板82固定在支座板98上,支座板98安装在垫板100上并可调节,垫板100安装在底板84上的开孔102的下面。垫板100上有平行槽104,便于反射板82沿传送刷毛串的皮带运动路线作纵向调整。反射板82的横向调整可在反射板82安装到支座板98时用填隙片完成,或使垫板沿横向向里或向外作调整。
类似地,安装在垫板100上并可调整的支座板106,其上装有超声波组合组件105。该组合组件105由气压缸107压向刷毛、基线和反射板82。喇叭形辐射器80用换能器108驱动,以足够的能量将充分的热能送到刷毛,引起局部熔融。换能器108,喇叭形辐射器80及反射板82可在市场上买到,其使用方法是众所周知的。如使用推荐的单丝材料(主要是尼龙及聚酯),在刷毛串因前进而除去能量之前,超声能最好只将材料表面快速加温到其熔点。但实际上,任何热塑性单丝材料都可应用。特别推荐的材料有TYNEXTM和CHINEXTM(都是尼龙单丝)及ORELTM(是聚酯单丝),这些都由美国特拉华州威尔明顿的E.I.duPont de Nemours & Co.公司生产的。
构成刷毛的单丝材料可用其它类似材料制造,包括脂族聚酰胺,芳族聚酰胺,聚酯,聚烯烃,苯乙烯,含氟聚合物,聚氯乙烯(PVC),聚氨酯,聚偏二氯乙烯,及聚苯乙烯和苯乙烯共聚物。特别适合牙刷使用的聚合材料包括以下几种:6,12尼龙;4尼龙;6尼龙;11尼龙;12尼龙;6,6尼龙;6,10尼龙;6,14尼龙;10,10尼龙;12,12尼龙;及其它尼龙共聚物。基线可用类似材料制作。
供刷毛及/或基线用的单丝的截面形状可以是非圆形的,且可以是中空的或其截面中有空洞。上述实施例示出基线和刷毛的横截面是圆形,虽然实际上可采用任何横截面形状,包括椭圆形、方形、矩形、等。在任何形状时基线和刷毛的优选的厚度尺寸应能对单个刷子的应用提供一功能性级别。通常,基线比刷毛稍厚。对许多用途的刷子而言,厚度范围(假设是圆截面)为2-200密耳(mils),应用于牙刷时为6-22密耳。
图9还示出填塞轮76的位置调节机构的详图。具体说,轮76安装在支架臂110上,可沿横向(由指向箭头表示)调节。填塞轮76还安装在滑动机构112上使易于垂直调整轮76。当高度正式选定,滑动机构112便将填塞轮76锁定在位。其它各种机构也可用来调节轮76、喇叭形辐射器80和反射板82的位置。
为皮带52提供张紧轮114,以便使皮带52保持适当的张力。为皮带54也提供类似的张紧轮,和辅助张紧机构,但为了简洁起见未示在图上。两根皮带由传动装置(未示)同步传动,传动装置包括伺服马达。使皮带同步的一种方法应是提供同步滑轮116和118,它们通过牙轮皮带(未示)连接且由一公用电机驱动。
在两条皮带52和54之间出口间隙的下游有一卷取装置(未示),以便将刷毛串收集在绕线轴上供随后使用及/或进一步处理。另外,在出口间隙下游可放置切割机构(未示),用于将刷毛串切成各种长度,用于制造不同尺寸、形状和型式刷子的刷毛簇。当切成一段段时,刷毛串可叫做“刷毛子配件”,因为接下来它们可用于制作鬃线束。但不论是按照本发明对刷毛重新定向之前还是之后,将此刷毛串叫做刷毛子配件也同样正确。
上述制作刷毛子配件的装置可用来制造上述结构的改型。具体说,参看图10,向轮子76一前一后地进给两根刷毛串,使两根基线120和122的一根叠在另一根顶部。一根的刷毛可比另一根的略短,使所有刷毛端部基本上在同一平面内收尾,如图10所示。它们的直径或横断面还可不同。此外,如图11所见,基线124可以偏离刷毛的中点,以致一排的刷毛比另一排的长。
选材不同及制作定向单丝时采用的工艺条件不同可以使制作上述刷毛子配件所用的基线有很大不同。典型的材料是以下一种或几种:6尼龙;6,6龙尼;6,9尼龙;6,10尼龙;6,12尼龙;11尼龙;12尼龙;10,10尼龙;6尼龙和6,6尼龙的共聚物,或几种尼龙的混合物。其它材料包括聚酯,如聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯(PBT)或1,3-对苯二酸酯(3GT),聚邻苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)或聚氨酯,聚氯偏二乙烯或聚苯乙烯。
因选用使单丝较硬或较软的材料,从而基线也不同,例如,刚性好的基线可用聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯树脂制造,由该树脂制成的单丝的拉伸模量超过1,000,000psi。柔性好的基线可用热塑性弹性材料制造,如聚酯嵌段酰胺(像PEBAX)或聚酯醚嵌段共聚物(像HYTRELTM),后者是杜邦公司产品。后两种情况单丝会有优异的拉伸回复特性和低的模量。基线性能的改进可通过掺和材料或共挤压使材料混合来实现。
虽然本发明已参照具体实施例作了说明,但本专业技术人员应理解,在附属权利要求书的实质和范围内本发明可有多个备选的实施例。

Claims (28)

1.一种刷毛子配件,包括:
基线;
第一排刷毛,它与基线连接且由基线沿径向外伸展;和
第二排刷毛,它与基线连接且从基线沿径向外伸展,
其特征在于第一和第二排刷毛基本上是彼此互相平行的。
2.根据权利要求1所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于,第一和第二排刷毛是用一种聚合的热塑性材料制作的。
3.根据权利要求2所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于,此聚合的热塑性材料从包括酯族聚酰胺、芳族聚酰胺、聚酯、聚烯烃、苯乙烯、含氟聚合物、聚氯乙烯(PVC)、聚氨酯、聚偏二氯乙烯及聚苯乙烯和苯乙烯共聚物的组中选取。
4.根据权利要求2所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于,聚合的热塑性材料是尼龙。
5.根据权利要求1所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于,第一和第二排刷毛中的刷毛是直的和有柔性的,其邻近端与基线连接。
6.根据权利要求1所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于,第一和第二排刷毛中的刷毛是整体形成的刷毛对,其特征在于各刷毛对包含一段单丝,以该段单丝的中点包绕在基线周围并且与基线连结,因此第一和第二排刷毛有基本相同的长度。
7.根据权利要求1所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于,第一和第二排刷毛中的刷毛是整体形成的刷毛对,其特征在于各刷毛对包含一段单丝,包绕在基线周围并且与基线连结,连结点偏离该段单丝的中点,因此第一排刷毛的长度与第二排刷毛的长度不等。
8.根据权利要求1所述的刷毛子配件,其特征在于基线是用聚合的单丝材料制造的。
9.一种制造刷毛子配件的方法,包括以下几个步骤:
形成刷毛串,它有从一基线向外伸展的第一和第二排刷毛,其特征在于,第一和第二排刷毛互相相对处在第一方向;
将第一及/或第二排刷毛中的刷毛弯曲,获得互相相对的第二方向,因而在刷毛中产生倾向于使刷毛回复到第一方向的弹力;
将弯曲的刷毛至少加热到足以使此弹力减少的温度,同时使刷毛保持在第二方向;及
使加热过的刷毛冷却,以便使刷毛保持第二方向。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,第一和第二排刷毛沿大致180°相反方向伸在第一方向,且其特征在于,弯曲步骤包括弯曲第一及/或第二排,直到该排刷毛相互大致在第二方向上且平行。
11.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,在第一方向上第一及第二排刷毛形成一角,基线位于该角角顶;且其特征在于,弯曲步骤包括将第一及第二排刷毛中的至少一排弯曲直到大致互相平行并在第二方向。
12.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,加热步骤包括向弯曲的刷毛施加超声能,能量大小及作用时间至少足以将弹力引起的应力解除。
13.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,加热步骤包括向弯曲的刷毛施加超声能,能量大小及作用时间至少足以导致刷毛和基线之间的接触点发生表面熔融,因而增加了刷毛与基线间的结合力且使刷毛固定在第二方向。
14.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,成形步骤包括:形成多条有对置轴向端部的刷毛;将这些单丝刷毛并排排列使所有刷毛基本上平行;将基线沿与这些单丝刷毛基本垂直的线与刷毛定位;使刷毛粘结到基线;从而每条刷毛形成一刷毛对,它包括位于第一排刷毛上的第一刷毛和位于第二排刷毛上的第二刷毛。
15.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,加热步骤包括向弯曲的刷毛及基线施加辐射热及/或对流热中至少一种。
16.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,刷毛由聚合的热塑性材料制成,该材料可从脂族聚酰胺、芳族聚酰胺、聚酯、聚烯烃、苯乙烯、含氟聚合物、聚氯乙烯(PVC)、聚氨酯、聚偏二氯乙烯、及聚苯乙烯和苯乙烯共聚物中选择。
17.根据权利要求16所述的方法,其特征在于,聚合材料是尼龙。
18.一种以刷毛串作为进料的刷毛子配件形成装置,该刷毛串有与基线结合的第一和第二排刷毛,第一和第二排刷毛均处在第一方向,此装置包括:
使第一及/或第二排刷毛中至少一排弯曲的装置,以便使该刷毛排彼此相对处在第二方向,因而在弯曲的刷毛中产生弹力,该弹力有使弯曲的刷毛回到第一方向的倾向;
加热装置,可将在弯曲步骤中弯曲的刷毛加热,加热的时间和温度至少足以减少弹力;及
冷却装置,使加热的刷毛冷却,以便刷毛维持第二方向。
19.根据权利要求18所述的装置,其特征在于,弯曲装置包括:上端开口的处在垂直方向的槽,和将刷毛串压入此槽内的装置。
20.根据权利要求19所述的装置,其特征在于,该槽由第一和第二环形皮带确定,该皮带使刷毛在加热前以第二方向夹持。
21.根据权利要求19所述的装置,其特征在于,推入装置包括一轮子,其外周边缘至少伸进槽内。
22.根据权利要求21所述的装置,其特征在于,轮子包括至少两个薄圆盘,其外周边彼此间隔。
23.根据权利要求18所述的装置,其特征在于,加热装置包括超声波加热器。
24.根据权利要求18所述的装置,其特征在于,超声波加热器供能的大小和时间足以使刷毛和基线接触区发生表面熔融,从而在冷却后刷毛和基线在接触区互相粘结。
25.根据权利要求23所述的装置,其特征在于,超声波加热器包括喇叭形超声波辐射器和与其并置的反射板,它们之间的间隙可通过刷毛串。
26.根据权利要求18所述的装置,其特征在于,冷却装置包括处于室温的周围空气。
27.根据权利要求21所述的装置,还包括调节轮子水平和垂直位置的装置。
28.根据权利要求23所述的装置,还包括调节超声波加热器的喇叭和反射板之间间隙的装置。
