Abstract

技术领域
本申请涉及可充气式的车辆保护装置,尤其是,一种可充气式膝盖保护垫。
发明的背景技术
在遇到车辆突然减速时,为了保护车辆乘员的安全,而采用了可充气式膝盖保护垫。当车辆发生前部碰撞时,这些装置可延长乘员股骨的减速时间,并可控制上部躯干的运动。在碰撞中,为了使得保护垫与乘员的膝盖近早相碰,保护垫的碰撞表面从压缩状态变为膨胀状态。这就使得膝盖有更多的时间减速而达到车辆的最终速度。保护垫的碰撞表面最初呈收缩状,这样使得设计更加灵活,并且可增加乘员的进出空间。
现有的可充气式膝盖保护垫包括:一个可充气式空气袋,所述的空气袋夹在碰撞表面和反应表面之间。当触发充气机时,空气袋的膨胀使得碰撞表面移动一预定的距离而到达到一激励位置。这个位置由反应碰撞表面之间的系链来确定。这些装置包括大量的部件和小零件,并且,需要仔细的安装。
人们希望提供一种更加简单的可充气式膝盖保护垫,并且,它的制造和安装成本都很低廉。
发明概述
本发明的目的是提供一种更加简单的可充气式膝盖保护垫,并且,它的制造和安装成本都很低廉。
一方面,本发明提供了一种用于乘客的可充气式保护垫,所述的保护垫具有一外壁,通过充气机对可膨胀可膨胀腔充气,而使得该外壁从一收缩位置向外突出到一展开位置。可膨胀腔包括一整体的中空体,该中空体具有一外壁和一内壁,所述的内、外壁通过通常处于折叠状态的“U”型褶状物相连接。为了与车体相连,一调整翼片从可膨胀腔的顶部伸出,而另一调整翼片则从可膨胀腔的底部伸出。另外,外表面的底部可直接与车体相连。充气机安装在中空体上,与中空体内部气体连通;通过充气机对可膨胀体加压,褶状物打开,可膨胀体膨胀;进而,使得前壁向外突出至靠近乘客的展开位置。

优选实施例的描述
如图1所示,车辆20具有乘客室22,所述的乘客室包括前排座位24和驾驶员26。仪表板28在方向盘30的侧面。可充气式膝盖保护垫32安装在仪表板28的下面,并且紧邻驾驶员26的膝盖34。相似的装备也提供给乘客。最好如图8所示,膝盖保护垫32几乎埋入到仪表板28的下面。
如图2至图7所示,膝盖保护垫32包括一整体式的中空主体36,所述主体36由吹塑聚丙烯或其它的热塑性材料所组成。主体36包括:一前或外壁38;一分隔开的内壁40,所述的内壁40及外壁38通过一个底壁42相连接。在其顶部和侧部,外壁38和内壁40通过通常被折叠的倒置“U”型褶状物44和46而相互连接。
如附图5所示,一对横向加强筋48和50在内壁40处形成。通过向主体36的内部延伸,所述的加强筋与外壁38的后部相连接。如图7所示,一对整体下部调整翼片52和54从底壁42延伸,以便于通过螺栓56固定在仪表板28的底部。一对具有薄弱部60’和62’的整体上部调整翼片60和62从主体36向上延伸,以便于通过螺栓56固定在仪表板的底部58。通过螺栓56,系链64被紧固到上部调整翼片60和62的两端。
如图3和6所示,一可膨胀腔66在内壁40处形成,所述的可膨胀腔包括一用于与圆柱形的充气机70相连通的开口68,所述空气机70在72处与可膨胀腔66的上壁螺栓连接。如图3所示,内壁40还包括一对隔开的排放口76和78。在这种整体结构中,主体形成了一可膨胀腔80,除了具有排放口76和78之外,可膨胀腔是密封的。
当发生前部碰撞而导致车辆减速时,一减速传感器(图中未示)触发空气机70,空气机对主体36加压。翼片60和62在60’和62’处的折断以及折叠的褶状物44和46的打开使得主体36得以膨胀。膨胀之后的保护垫的外壁38向外突出到如图8所示邻近乘客的膝盖34处。系链64的长度限制了这个膨胀运动。因此,当车辆减速时,保护垫的外壁38处在与乘客膝盖34及小腿相接触的位置,从而增加了车辆减速时膝盖与小腿减速的时间。
可充气式膝盖保护垫的其他实施例在附图9至图11中示出,并且用附图标记132表示。图9至图11中与图1至图8的实施例中的相同或相似的部件,采用数字标号增加100的方式来表示。此处,主要的不同之处在于:包含有四个隔开的加强筋80、82、84和86,所述的加强筋形成在内壁140处。这些加强筋用以替代图1至图8的实施例中的加强筋48和50,并且,都是起到加强的作用。实施例的作用也是相同的。
因此,本发明提供一种更加简单的可充气式膝盖保护垫。虽然,仅仅描述了优选实施例,但是,在本发明的权利要求的保护范围内,还可有多种形式的改进。
例如,折叠褶状物可采用不同的方式:数量不同;形式不同;或者,它可连续的围绕在充气体的周围。充气体可应用在车辆上的其它部分,诸如用作侧面碰撞保护。说明书中虽然提到了使用聚丙烯材料,但是,也可使用其它材料。此外,也可不使用加强筋,并且,可折叠的褶状物也能限制外壁的向外运动。我们还可看到,如果需要的话,膝盖保护垫32的外壁38可以作为一裸露表面与仪表板28相配合,而无需其它罩。
虽然上面详细描述了本发明的优选实施例,但应当清楚地懂得,这并没有限制本发明的保护范围,对在此所教导的基本发明构思的许多变化或修改,仍将落入由所附权利要求书限定的本发明的实质与范围之内。

Claims (10)

1.一种用于乘客的可充气式膝盖保护垫,所述的的保护垫具有一外壁,通过充气机对可膨胀腔充气,而使得其外壁从一收缩位置向外突出到一靠近乘客膝盖的展开位置,其特征在于,可膨胀腔包含有一整体中空体,所述的中空体包括:
一外壁和一内壁,所述内壁以及外壁在底部通过一底壁相互连接;在顶部和侧部,通过一通常呈折叠状态的“U”型褶状物而相连接,所述的褶状物沿着侧壁从底侧角向上延伸,并越过中空体的上部,
至少一连接件,为了与车体相连,所述的连接件由底壁延伸,
至少一易折的调整翼片,为了将所述翼片与车体相连,从而保持外壁处于收缩状态,所述翼片从所述外壁的顶部伸出,和
所述的充气机,为了与可膨胀腔的内部进行气体交换,而将充气机安装在中空体上;然后,充气机可选择地对可膨胀体加压,以便打开褶状物、令可膨胀体膨胀、冲破易折翼片;进而使得前壁向外突出到展开位置处。
2.如权利要求1所述的可充气式膝盖保护垫,其特征在于:所述整体中空体采用吹塑聚丙烯材料。
3.如权利要求1所述的可充气式膝盖保护垫,其特征在于:在所述内壁上形成有一个加强筋,所述的加强筋穿过所述中空体而伸向所述外壁。
4.如权利要求3所述的可充气式膝盖保护垫,其特征在于:内壁包括许多隔开的所述加强筋。
5.如权利要求1所述的可充气式膝盖保护垫,其特征在于:所述壁上至少具有一个排放口,以便于控制随后的所述中空体中的压力降低。
6.如权利要求1所述的可充气式膝盖保护垫,其特征在于:所述易折翼片具有被一易折部分分割的两端部,并且包括一系链,所述系链通过与所述两端部的相连而限制所述外壁向展开位置的运动。
7.一种用于乘客的可充气式膝盖保护垫,所述的的保护垫具有一外壁,通过充气机对可膨胀腔充气,而使得其外壁从一收缩位置向外突出到一展开位置,其特征在于:
包含有一整体中空体的可膨胀腔,所述的中空体包括有上述的外壁和内壁,它们通过一通常呈折叠状态的“U”型褶状物相互连接,
用于将中空体的顶部与车体相连的装置,
用于将中空体的底部与车体相连的装置,
所述的充气机安装在中空体上,与可膨胀腔的内部气体连通;充气机可选择地对可膨胀体加压,以便打开褶状物,从而使得可膨胀体膨胀;进而使得前壁向外突出到靠近乘客的展开位置处。
