具体实施方式
发明以下方法以开发并筛选材料,所述材料在压延加工中形成均匀薄膜,具有良好的熔融强度和内聚强度,并转移到织物上而不会在SS辊上发生内聚破坏。
首先,使用薄膜模头(die)在BrabenderTM机器上制备均匀的10密耳(mil)薄膜。然后,将薄膜夹在一侧上的不锈钢板和另一侧上的聚酯或棉织物之间,形成分层组件。接着,分层组件在压制模塑机中在不增加任何压力的情况下预热至300℉60秒,然后在25PSI压力下通过使两个板闭合15秒,在两个板之间进行压制。该方法用于复制压延过程。在一个实施方式中,薄膜可以夹在两个织物层之间,即,织物-薄膜-织物。在一个实施方式中,组合物可以包含在一侧或两侧上具有薄膜的织物。在一个实施方式中,薄膜可以仅在一侧上具有织物。在一个实施方式中,本发明可以用标准压延加工技术制备。

为了量化上述过程并能够预测其在压延加工中的性能,将组件从压制模塑机中取出后,使组件冷却至室温,然后在InstronTM机中进行90度剥离试验。如果薄膜从不锈钢板上剥离而没有内聚破坏,仍然附着在织物上,并且如果在室温下剥离力低于3lbf,则薄膜材料将在300-400℉的压延过程中与不锈钢辊分离而没有内聚破坏,并在压延加工中形成良好的层压材料。然而,如果剥离力在室温下大于4lbf,则其表示内聚破坏和不良的熔体强度。3至4lbf的剥离力范围似乎是临界情况,根据其他标准,薄膜表现出良好的内聚强度。
测量弹性配方在190℃和230℃下的熔融指数,以确定组件的物理性能。如果190℃的熔融指数低于4克/10分钟,230℃的熔融指数低于35克/10分钟,则弹性配方显示出非常好的内聚强度。另一方面,如果190℃的熔融指数高于5克/10分钟,230℃的熔融指数高于39克/10分钟,则弹性配方显示出不良的熔体强度和内聚强度。
同样,4-5克/10分钟的190℃下的熔融指数范围和35-39克/10分钟的230℃下的熔融指数范围似乎是临界情况。总之,如果弹性薄膜配方190℃下的熔融指数小于190℃下4克/10分钟,230℃的熔融指数小于35克/10分钟,则该配方将制成一种薄膜,所述薄膜显示出在室温下与不锈钢板的剥离力低于3lbf,并将保持与织物的粘合。

如果薄膜由符合以下标准的弹性配方制成,则薄膜将显示出用300-400℉的不锈钢辊会发生内聚破坏,并不均匀地转移到织物上,并且在压延加工中发生内聚破坏和熔体断裂:(1)190℃的熔融指数高于5克/10分钟;(2)230℃的熔融指数高于39克/10分钟;和(3)室温下与不锈钢板的剥离力大于4lbf。
如果薄膜由符合以下标准的弹性配方制成,则薄膜有时从300-400℉的不锈钢辊上干净剥离,并有时干净地转移到织物上,而不会在压延加工中发生内聚破坏:(1)190℃的熔融指数为4-5克/10分钟;(2)230℃的熔融指数为35-39克/10分钟;和(3)室温下与不锈钢板的剥离力为3-4lbf。
本发明的弹性薄膜部分可以包含聚合物、油和任选的添加剂。
合适的聚合物包括不同于热塑性聚氨酯的热塑性弹性体,例如苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物、热塑性硫化橡胶、聚烯烃弹性体、共聚酯及其组合。
合适的苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物的非限制性示例包括苯乙烯-乙烯/丁烯-苯乙烯(SEBS)、苯乙烯-乙烯/丙烯-苯乙烯(SEPS)、苯乙烯-乙烯/乙烯/丙烯-苯乙烯(SEEPS)、苯乙烯-异丁烯-苯乙烯(SIBS)、苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯(SBS)、苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯(SIS),及其组合。
合适的共聚物的非限制性示例包括嵌段共聚物,其包括重复的脂肪族聚醚或脂肪族聚酯的软链段和芳族聚酯的硬链段。
聚合物可以任意合适量存在,包括但不限于:约25重量%至约75重量%;约30重量%至约70重量%;约35重量%至约65重量%;约40重量%至约60重量%;和约45重量%至约55重量%。
可以使用任意合适的油,例如,矿物油、植物油、合成油。油组分的具体示例在下文的实施例部分中进行详述。
油可以任意合适量存在,包括但不限于:约20重量%至约35重量%;约25重量%至约30重量%;和约27重量%至约29重量%。
合适的任选的添加剂包括常规或市售可得的塑料添加剂。热塑性配混领域的技术人员无需过多的实验就可以由可获得的参考文件选择合适的添加剂,所述参考文件为例如E.W.Flick,塑料设计库(Plastics Design Library)的《塑料添加剂数据库(PlasticsAdditives Database)》(Elsevier 2004)。
可以足以为组合物的弹性薄膜部分和/或由其模塑的制品提供所需加工特性或性能特性的任意量使用任选的添加剂。该量不应造成添加剂的浪费,也不应对弹性薄膜和/或由其模塑的制品的加工或性能不利。
任选的添加剂的非限制性示例包括:粘合促进剂;抗雾化剂;抗氧化剂;抗静电剂;杀生物剂(抗菌剂、杀真菌剂和防霉剂);着色剂,包括颜料和染料;分散剂;填料和增量剂;防火剂、阻燃剂和烟雾抑制剂;硬度调节剂;抗冲改性剂;引发剂;润滑剂;云母;脱模剂;油和增塑剂;加工助剂;二次聚合物;硅烷类、钛酸盐/酯和锆酸盐/酯;滑爽剂和抗粘连剂;稳定剂;硬脂酸酯/盐;紫外光吸收剂;粘度调节剂;和蜡。
在一些实施方式中,弹性薄膜还包含如下物质中的一种或多种:抗氧化剂和稳定剂;着色剂;脱模剂;紫外光吸收剂;和它们的组合。
任选的增塑剂
增塑剂可被用于例如调节柔软度和/或改进聚合物配混物的流动性质或者其他性质。
任何常规的能对苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物进行增塑的油(例如矿物油、植物油、合成油等)均能用于本发明。市售的油的实例包括:购自加拿大石油公司(Petro-Canada)的PURETOL 380品牌的油;和购自埃克森美孚公司(ExxonMobil)的PRIMOL 382品牌的油。
制造弹性薄膜组合物的方法和加工
一旦选择了合适的成分,所公开发明的聚合物配混物的制备并不复杂。配混物可以间歇或连续操作的方式进行制备。
以连续工艺进行的混合通常在挤出机中进行,该挤出机的温度升高到足以使聚合物基质熔化的程度,且在进料喉处、或通过下游的注射或侧进料器添加所有的添加剂。挤出机速度范围可为约200至约700转/分钟(rpm),例如为约250rpm至约350rpm。通常,挤出机的输出物进行造粒,以供稍后加工成热塑性制品。
加工技术见述于可获得的参考文献,例如Dominick V.Rosato等人,《塑料设计手册》(Plastics Design Handbook)(施普林格出版公司(Springer)2013)。
在一些实施方式中,所公开发明的热塑性弹性体配混物通过注塑工艺模塑成热塑性制品。
本发明的其它方面涉及通过压延工艺制备的压延制品。
本发明的实用性
本发明的组合物可用于制造任何类型的织物应用,包括需要抵抗来自食物、饮料、油、污垢、清洁剂和其他相关物品的染色和损坏的织物应用。
所公开发明的压延组合物具有用于多种不同工业领域中的各种应用的潜力,包括但不限于:家居装饰;家具;服装和鞋袜;汽车和运输;消费品;电子设备;保健和医疗;家用电器;和获益于其独特性质组合的其它工业领域或应用。
在一些实施方式中,本发明的组合物尤其可用于制造窗帘、家具、汽车座椅用织物覆盖物以及衣物和鞋袜。

(a)弹性薄膜,所述弹性薄膜包括:
苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物;
油;
任选的添加剂;
(b)织物;
其中,弹性薄膜定位为与织物相邻。
2.如权利要求1所述的组合物,其中,所述苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物选自下组:苯乙烯-乙烯-丁烯-苯乙烯;苯乙烯-乙烯-丙烯-苯乙烯;苯乙烯-乙烯-乙烯/丙烯-苯乙烯;苯乙烯-异丁烯-苯乙烯;苯乙烯-丁二烯-苯乙烯;苯乙烯-异戊二烯-苯乙烯或它们的组合。
3.如权利要求1-2中任一项所述的组合物,其中,织物选自下组:棉、聚酯或它们的组合。
4.如权利要求1-3中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜还包含大于或等于25重量%且小于或等于75重量%的苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物。
5.如权利要求1-4中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜还包含大于或等于40重量%且小于或等于70重量%的苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物。
6.如权利要求1-5中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜还包含大于或等于20重量%且小于或等于35重量%的油。
7.如权利要求1-6中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜还包含大于或等于25重量%且小于或等于30重量%的油。
8.如权利要求1-7中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜位于第一织物和第二织物之间且与第一织物和第二织物相邻。
9.如权利要求8所述的组合物,其中,第一织物包含第一材料,并且第二织物包含第二材料。
10.如权利要求9所述的组合物,其中,第一材料与第二材料相同。
11.如权利要求9所述的组合物,其中,第一材料不同于第二材料。
12.如权利要求1-11中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜在190℃的熔融指数低于4克/10分钟。
13.如权利要求1-11中任一项所述的组合物,其中,弹性薄膜在230℃的熔融指数为约35-39克/10分钟。
14.如权利要求1-13中任一项所述的组合物,其中,室温下弹性薄膜离开不锈钢板的剥离力为约0-3lbf。
15.一种包含如权利要求1所述的组合物的制品,其中,所述制品选自下组:服装、鞋袜、家具和窗帘。
16.一种用于制造组合物的方法,所述方法包括以下步骤:
制备包含苯乙烯类嵌段共聚物、油和任选的添加剂的弹性薄膜组合物,其中,弹性薄膜具有第一侧和相反的第二侧;
将弹性薄膜组合物夹在第一侧上的第一不锈钢板和第二侧上的织物之间,以产生分层组件;
对分层组件进行预热;
在第一不锈钢板和第二不锈钢板之间压制分层组件;以及
从不锈钢板中取出织物和弹性薄膜组件。
