本发明提供一种能够实现清洗性能的提高的滚筒洗衣机，该滚筒洗衣机(1)具备：外槽(20)，配置在壳体(10)内；滚筒(22)，配置在外槽(20)内，能够以相对于水平方向倾斜的倾斜轴为中心进行旋转；挡板(23)，设置在滚筒(22)的内周面上；搅拌体(24)，在滚筒(22)的后部以与该滚筒(22)同轴进行旋转的方式配置，在表面具有与洗涤物相接触的叶片(24a)；以及驱动单元(30)，使滚筒(22)以及搅拌体(24)向相同方向且以使搅拌体(24)的旋转速度比滚筒(22)的旋转速度快的方式旋转。
