Abstract

本发明涉及一种数据处理装置,更具体地涉及在同步信号的控制下将数据信号与控制信号传输到一个外部显示单元的数据处理装置中的显示器控制器部分。该同步信号是显示器控制部分中的振荡器发生的。根据本发明,当所连接的外部显示单元从一种改变为另一种而要求改变振荡器的频率时,同步信号的频率能够改变而无须任何手动操作。显示单元发生并发送指示对数据处理单元所发送的数据与控制信号的频率的要求的身份信号。数据处理单元响应该身份信号安排振荡器的频率。

Description

本发明涉及一种具有数据显示设备与数据处理设备的数据处理装置,而更具体地涉及用于改变同步信号的频率或者数据处理设备响应数据显示设备的要求而送入数据显示设备的数据信号与控制信号的频率的一种配置。
有这样的情况,诸如一台个人计算机之类的数据处理设备以其所确定的频率将信号送至诸如一个阴极射线管(CRT)监视器与液晶显示(LCD)监视器等数据显示设备,而数据显示设备所能正常工作的信号频率(工作频率)却因该数据显示设备的型号与规格的不同而不同。例如,某些CRT监视器只能在47兆赫工作频率下正常工作,而其它CRT监视器则可能只在58兆赫下工作。在这种情况下,为了操作具有47兆赫的CRT监视器,数据处理设备所给出的数据信号与控制信号的频率必须设置在47兆赫,而为了操作具有58兆赫的CRT监视器,数据处理设备所给出的数据信号与控制信号的频率则必须设置在58兆赫。
因而,当从适配于某一工作频率下使用的一台CRT监视器到该数据处理设备的连接改变到适配于在不同的工作频率下使用的另一台CRT监视器时,除非改变该数据处理设备所传送的数据信号与控制信号的频率(传送频率),另一台CRT监视器便不能工作。
在先有技术中,为了改变来自数据处理设备的信号的频率,一位操作员必须手动操作开关装置诸如装在数据处理设备中的一个嵌入式开关。这一手动操作是不方便的并容易出错。
本发明的一个目的是提供一种数据处理装置,当诸如CRT监视器这样的数据显示设备之一被连接到一个数据处理设备时,不需要任何手动的开关操作,该数据处理设备便可将具有使所述数据显示设备能够正常工作的一种频率的数据信号与控制信号从该数据处理设备送到所述数据显示设备。
本发明旨在以下述方式实现上述目的:为一种数据显示设备提供用于生成标识该数据显示设备正常工作的频率的信号的标识符信号发生装置;同时也为一种数据处理设备提供能够响应所述标识符信号,确定同步信号的频率或者要发往所述数据显示设备的信号频率的频率确定装置。
图1是展示根据本发明的一种数据处理装置的一个实施例的总体配置的方框图;以及
图2是展示上述实施例的一个频率确定装置的方框图。
现在参见附图中的细节:
图1示出了按照本发明的数据处理装置的一个实施例的总体配置。在图中,作为数据显示设备,第一与第二CRT监视器1和2适用于互不相同的工作频率,第一CRT监视器1的工作频率为47兆赫而第二CRT监视器2的工作频率则为58兆赫。这便是说,为了使第一CRT监视器1能够正常工作,数据信号与控制信号必须以47兆赫的频率给出,而为了使第二CRT监视器2能够正常工作,数据信号与控制信号必须以58兆赫的频率给出。
CRT监视器1与2各自有对应的标识符信号发生装置7与8。装置7与8分别产生标识监视器1与2的工作频率的信号。在本实施例中,需要标 识的是两台CRT监视器,所以,该标识符信号的位模式只需一位就够了。来自第一CRT监视器1的装置7的标识符信号的位模式为“1”,而来自第二CRT监视器2的装置8的标识符信号的位模式则为“0”。在CRT监视器1和2的电源开关接通时它们连续地输出这些标识符信号。
由于第一CRT监视器1是通过一条电缆3连接到数据处理设备5上的,一个其位模式为“1”的标识符信号从第一CRT监视器1被送到数据处理设备5,然后,作为数据信号的RGB信号(图象信号)以及作为控制信号的一个水平同步信号(H-SYNC信号)与一个垂直同步信号(V-SYNC信号)被从数据处理设备5送至第一CRT监视器1。数据处理设备5具有频率确定装置11。装置11响应所述标识符信号,确定要传送的信号的信号频率,然后,数据处理设备5以频率确定装置11所确定的频率向CRT1提供信号。
图2示出频率确定装置11的构造。
频率确定装置11具有一个第一振荡器21用于产生47兆赫频率的信号,一个第二振荡器22用于发生58兆赫频率的信号,以及锁存装置23。锁存装置23为,例如,一个延时型(D型)锁存器,在它的一个数据端D上输入数据显示设备的标识符信号发生装置所发生的标识符信号并且当数据处理设备5的电源开关接通时在它的一个时钟端CK上输入一个信号“1”(高电平信号)。锁存装置23的一个输出端Q连接到一个第一“与”(AND)门31的输入端之一上,而第一振荡器21则连接到第一“与”门31的另一个输入端上。锁存装置23的输出端Q通过一个“非”门25同时连接到一个第二“与”门的输入端之一上,而第二振荡器22则连接到第二“与”门32的另一个输入端上,而“与”门31与32的输出端则分别连接到一个“或”门33的两个输入端上。这里,一个由“非”门25,第一“与”门31,第二“与”门32以及“或”门33构成的逻辑门装置便形成了一个振荡器选择装置41。
下面对频率确定装置11的操作进行说明。
由于第一CRT监视器1是连接到数据处理设备5上的,第一CRT监视器1所发生的具有位模式“1”的标识符信号被输入到锁存装置23的数据端D;然后,在锁存装置23的输出Q上呈现与数据端D的输入信号相同的信号“1”,并且在“非”门25的输出方呈现一个信号“0”,从而,在“或”门33的输出端上呈现一个具有频率为47兆赫的信号(时钟信号),它便是第一振荡器21的振荡频率;然后,振荡器选择装置41,及相应的频率确定装置11产生频率为47兆赫的一个信号。由于频率确定装置11产生47兆赫频率信号,数据处理设备5以47兆赫的频率向第一CRT监视器1提供RGB以及水平与垂直同步信号。结果,适合于在47兆赫工作频率下使用的第一CRT监视器1响应所述RGB与水平及垂直同步信号正常地工作。
下面对这一装置在第二CRT监视器(2)代替第一CRT监视器1连接到数据处理设备5时的操作进行说明。
在这一场合,在锁存装置23的数据端D上输入一个由第二CRT监视器2发生的具有“0”位模式的一个标识符信号。然后在锁存装置23的输出Q上呈现与数据端D的输入信号相同的信号“0”,而在“非”门25的输出方则呈现一个信号“1”。相应地,在“或”门33的输出端呈现一个具有频率58兆赫的信号,这便是第二振荡器22的频率。作为结果,振荡器选择装置41,及相应的频率确定装置11以频率58兆赫发生信号。由于频率确定装置11以58兆赫的频率发生信号,数据处理设备5以58兆赫的频率向第二CRT监视器2提供RGB以及水平和垂直同步信号。结果,适合于在58兆赫工作频率使用的第二CRT监视器2响应所述RGB以及水平和垂直同步信号正常地工作。
由于当数据处理设备5的电源开关接通时在锁存装置23的一个时钟端上输入一个信号“1”,所以即使标识符信号在一个时间间隔内并不从CRT监视器1或2送入该数据处理设备5这一标识符信号也被锁存在锁存装置23中,例如,当数据处理设备5与CRT监视器1或2之间的连接偶然地断开的情况下。因此,频率确定装置11连续地以早先的频率发生信号,这样即使该标识符信号暂时没有提供,数据信号与控制信号仍能以正常频率传送到CRT监视器1或2。
根据这一实施例,与CRT监视器1或2的工作频率匹配的频率能够自动地被该数据处理设备5所选择,只须将CRT监视器1或2连接到数据处理设备5即可,从而消除了手动操作任何开关的必要。
此外,由于该振荡器选择装置41是由逻辑门装置组成的,频率的选择只须增加一个简单的硬件配置即可完成。
注意在上述实施例中,数据显示设备是假定为CRT监视器的,但它们不限于CRT监视器。诸如液晶显示器,等离子体显示器等其它类型的数据显示设备也可使用。在上述实施例中,两个CRT监视器中的任意一个是通过一条可重接的电缆连接到该数据处理设备的,但是该数据处理设备可以有一台固定地连接的平板状的显示设备,如液晶显示器或等离子显示器等,并且能够选择匹配于连接到它的外部终端上的CRT监视器的工作频率的频率来替代已经与该液晶显示器或等离子显示器的工作频率相匹配的频率。此外,标识符信号的类型及其所要标识的数据显示设备的数目也并不限于所述实施例的那些,而可以基于较大数目的标识符信号来选择更大数量的不同频率。再者在所述实施例中,频率是用以少量门组成的逻辑门装置的一个简单硬件配置从该标识符信号确定的,但频率也可以是将标识符信号输入到一台微处理器(MPU)而令该微处理器识别该标识符信号来进行选择的。再者,可以使用省去锁存装置(D锁存器)的更简化的配置。
如上所述,本发明能够提供一种数据处理装置,它能使一个数据处理设备向数据显示设备之一(如CRT监示器等)以一个该数据显示设备适合于响应这些信号工作的频率发送信号,只须将该数据显示设备连接到该数据处理设备而无须任何手动操作。

Claims (5)

1、一种数据处理装置包括显示设备与数据处理设备,所述显示设备能够响应具有预先确定频率的信号进行工作,所述数据处理设备向该显示设备发送信号,其特征在于,所述显示设备具有标识符装置用于产生一个标识符信号,所述标识符信号是用于指示所述预先确定的频率的,以及,所述数据处理设备具有响应所述标识符信号确定信号的频率的装置。
2、权利要求1所提出的一种数据处理装置,其特征在于所述频率确定装置具有振荡频率各不相同的多个振荡器,以及与这多个振荡器相连的一个振荡器选择装置用于响应所述标识符信号,选择所述多个振荡器的振荡器频率之一。
3、权利要求2所提出的一种数据装置,其特征在于所述振荡器选择装置是一个逻辑门装置用于响应所述标识符信号,从来自所述多个振荡器的输出信号中选择并输出唯一的一个。
4、权利要求2所提出的一种数据处理装置,其特征在于所述振荡器选择装置是一台微处理器。
5、权利要求1至4中任何一条所提出的一种数据处理装置,其特征在于所述频率确定装置具有锁存装置用于锁存所述标识符信号。
