Abstract

LA PRESENTE INVENCIÓN CONSISTE EN UN PROCESO DE PRODUCCIÓN DE XILITOL A PARTIR DE RESIDUOS LIGNOCELULÓSICOS UTILIZANDO CANDIDA GUILLIERMONDII QUE BUSCA SUPRIMIR LOS INCONVENIENTES QUE PRESENTAN LOS PROCESOS BIOTECNOLÓGICOS DE PRODUCCIÓN DE XILITOL UTILIZADOS EN LA ACTUALIDAD EN TÉRMINOS DEL RENDIMIENTO Y EN UN TIEMPO CONVENIENTEMENTE MÁS CORTO, SIN LA NECESIDAD DE UN PROCESO DE DETOXIFICACIÓN PREVIO A LA FERMENTACIÓN; ASÍ SE DESCRIBE UN PROCESO QUE COMPRENDE FERMENTAR UNA SOLUCIÓN DE XILOSA OBTENIDA A PARTIR DE LA HIDRÓLISIS DE OLOTE DE MAÍZ CON UNA LEVADURA CANDIDA GUILLIERMONDII Y DECOLORAR EL MEDIO RESULTANTE DE LA FERMENTACIÓN CON CARBÓN ACTIVADO PARA OBTENER XILITOL.
