The invention relates to a filling machine for bagging different products in valve bags, which is equipped with a dedusting line and a plurality of filling pipes, onto which the valve bags to be filled can be plugged and to which a return device for the product is assigned.
The filling machine in question is known in two embodiments. The first embodiment is the so-called row packing machine, in which the individual filling machines are arranged in a row next to one another. The second embodiment is designed as a rotating filling machine. The rotor of this rotating filling machine is either driven at a constant speed or clocked intermittently.
The filling machines work according to two different systems. In the first system, a filling turbine is arranged in the lower area of a packing silo, which conveys the product into the filling pipe and thus into the attached valve sack. The second system is a so-called air packer, in which the contents are transported using compressed air. The product gets from a pre-silo into the packing machine or into the filling pot of the filling machine. Several products are often filled with the filling machines. It is then necessary to empty the remaining amount in each filling unit of the filling machine by means of a cleaning process.
For this purpose, it is already known to equip packaging machines with a separate emptying device with which the remaining amount of the filling material is passed into a return device. This return device is necessary, for example, to catch and return the contents of defective or burst bags. However, since this separate device is not used all the time, incrustations occur, so that emptying is often inadequate. In addition, this is difficult or impossible to control. This type of residual emptying therefore does not meet the requirements of the market. In addition, a residual amount of the product also remains in the filling channel, so that the subsequent product is mixed with it.
In practice, as a further alternative, the residual emptying is carried out by attaching a valve bag to the respective filling tube, the bottom of which has been removed or opened. It could then be assumed that the cleaning process was carried out satisfactorily due to the leaked amount. In both of the systems described above, the high level of dust development is to be regarded as disadvantageous due to the return to an open system. This leads to nuisance to the operating personnel and contamination of the filling machine and its surroundings.
The invention is based on the object of designing a filling machine of the type described in the introduction in such a way that the residual emptying required when changing a product can be regarded as an automatic process, it being ensured that practically no residual quantities of the filling material remain in the filling unit, and in addition the cleaning process is dust-free.
The object is achieved by means of a filling machine with the features of patent claim 1. It is achieved in particular in that at least one emptying line connected to the return device is provided for residual emptying of the filling machine when changing the product in its peripheral area, which can be successively connected to the filling pipes in terms of flow ,
This residual emptying technology can be used particularly with rotating filling machines. The drain line is then installed in a suitable, still free location. If the drive of the filling machine is clocked intermittently, the drain line is slipped onto the filling pipes one after the other. The filling machine is then rotated one cycle after each cleaning process. However, if the drive is designed for a constant speed, an additional positioning drive could be used to clean the individual filling units.
A telescopic emptying line or a movable one could be used in a row packing system. Contrary to the known residual emptying, this now takes place via the filling channel or via the filling pipe, so that the residual emptying can be regarded as a normal filling process. Due to the streamlined connection to the return device, a suitable, essentially dust-free system can be assumed with a corresponding design. The control can be carried out via a sensor to determine whether the process has started or the filling pot is empty. In the case of residual emptying, it is advantageous if the dedusting arranged in the upper region of the filling machine is put out of operation, since it counteracts the flow of the filling material. This supports the cleaning process.
In the case of a rotating filling machine, the emptying line can be arranged stationary at a suitable point. Since the respective filling pipe is then always in the same place, the drain line can be arranged pivotably. When not in use, it is then pivoted outside the circulating area of the filling pipes into an inoperative position. This is preferably done by a linear drive, for example by a piston-cylinder unit. This residual emptying also removes the dust inside the filling unit. The control option ensures that the contamination of the products, which has not been ruled out to date, can now practically no longer occur.
In a particularly advantageous manner, the drain line is connected to a transition funnel of the return device, which is arranged above the return screw and connected to it in a conductive manner. This transition funnel can also be seen as a buffer or buffer, from which the product resulting from the emptying process is initially collected. It is particularly advantageous if a suction line for dedusting is connected to this transition funnel. This suction process or the dedusting supports the cleaning process effectively, so that the degree of purity of the filling unit is further increased.
So that the emptying process is terminated as soon as no more product is conveyed out of the filling pipe, it is provided that the emptying line is equipped with a sensor for monitoring the emptying process. This sensor is mounted in the drain line in such a way that it lies adjacent to the outlet opening of the fill pipe when the drain line is connected to the fill pipe.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing.
It shows:
Fig. 1 A partially shown rotating filling machine with the drain line and the partially shown return device, highly schematic.
The rotating filling machine 10 indicated in FIG. 1 can either be equipped with a drive that allows the rotor to be driven at a constant speed or intermittently clocked. The angle of rotation of a cycle then depends on the number of filling tubes 11. If the drive is designed for a constant speed, an auxiliary drive in the form of an interval drive could be used for the cleaning process. For the residual emptying of the individual filling units of the rotating filling machine 10, the filling pipes 11 are moved one after the other into a precisely defined position, so that an emptying line 12 which can be pivoted about a horizontal axis can be plugged onto the respective filling pipe.
In FIG. 1, the position during the cleaning process is identified by reference number 12, and the non-operating position during the filling of valve bags by reference number 12 min. In a manner not shown in detail, a sealing sleeve is inserted into the drain line 12 in the end region facing the filling pipe 11. The opposite, lower end of the drain line 12 is connected to a transition funnel 13. The transition funnel 13 is connected to the feedback screw 14, which is indicated and which is part of the feedback device. The drain line 12 can be pivoted into the operating or non-operating position by means of a linear drive 15, for example a piston-cylinder unit. A suction line 16, which serves for dedusting, is connected to the transition funnel 13.
In the illustrated embodiment, a turbine 18 is rotatably mounted below the packing silo 17 of the rotating filling machine 10. The filling tube 11 is approximately level with the turbine 18, which is driven by a geared motor 19. This filling system can only be seen as an example. The rotating filling machine 10 is also equipped with an inlet pipe 20 and an upper dedusting line 21. The other units necessary for the functioning of the rotating filling machine 10, such as the weighing device and the bag chair, are not shown for the sake of simplicity.
To empty the respective filling unit, each filling tube 11 is moved one after the other into a position suitable for the emptying line 12. After this has been plugged onto the filling pipe 11, a weight-independent filling process is initiated, which lasts until a sensor unit 23 mounted in the drain line 12 in a functional manner detects that no filling material is left in the filling unit or in the packing silo. In this cleaning or emptying process, the filling material still present in the filling pipe 11 is also passed into the return device. During the cleaning process, the suction line 21 counteracting the material flow is put out of operation, while the suction line 16 is connected to a vacuum source, which supports the cleaning process.
By means of a sensor 22 installed in the transition funnel 13, the fill level is checked and, if not explained in detail, the material flow is switched off or the cleaning process is briefly interrupted.
The residual emptying described can be used in particular in rotating filling machines, but can also be used in row packing machines if the emptying line 12 is designed accordingly. The essence of this emptying is the removal of the remaining filling material through the filling pipe.
