Abstract

The covers are moulded from glass fibre reinforced nylon. Two such covers are used, one on each side of the brush gear and bearing yoke to shroud the diameter. Each cover fits over a pin on the stator laminations and is fixed to these. The cover comprises a vertical portion (10), provided with a shaped recess (9) for fixing, and a horizontal portion fitting over the brush gear. This portion has a central curvature (7) with each end (8) upturned to form parallel wings. A large radius connects these to the centre. A central semicircular slot (14) underneath fits over the fixing pin on the laminations.
