[Also in Division H2] A commutator or slip-ring has an insulating hub 10 with a bore 14 formed with ribs 15 tapering towards the rotor winding end 14a to centre and hold the body on the smooth shaft of an electrical machine. The body is moulded and the taper of the ribs is less than 1 degree, preferably 30 minutes, relative to the axis. The rotor windings are intended to be hooked over the ends 13 of the segments 11.
