Piston pump, the stroke of which can be adjusted variably
The invention relates to a piston pump whose stroke is variably adjustable.
It is known to use such piston pumps for metering devices in filling machines. With these piston pumps, the stroke is adjusted by means of an adjustable eccentric. The latter mostly acts on the piston rod, and the pump cylinder is pivoted in a pillow block bearing. During a work cycle, the piston pump makes a pendulum motion corresponding to the set eccentric stroke.
These piston pumps have the following disadvantages:
The moving piston with piston rod and cylinder is part of the drive mechanism that accommodates the eccentric and the pillow block bearing. With a pump change that is often desired in filling machines, e.g. B. Dismantling the pump cylinder to pour out a residual liquid when changing to another medium to be dosed, thus always part of the actual drive mechanism is dismantled. The piston and the piston rod must continue to be guided in the cylinder in a mechanically flawless manner, which requires a relatively complex construction when the cylinder oscillates. Due to the pendulum movement of the cylinder, the supply and discharge lines must be flexible in order to be able to take part in these movements of the cylinder.
Furthermore, the exact reproducibility of the piston stroke cannot be achieved very well by adjusting the eccentric, because the adjustment path of the eccentric corresponds to only half the piston stroke.
The aim is to create a piston pump with which the disadvantages mentioned can be avoided. The piston pump according to the invention is characterized by a rocker which is driven back and forth and whose lever arm acting on the piston is variably adjustable.
Two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 shows a piston pump in longitudinal section with drive linkage and
2 shows a plan view of a metering device with several pump cylinders standing next to one another, in the scheme.
In Fig. 1, the drive for a pump is shown. The piston pump has a z. B. made of transparent plastic cylinder 1, a cylinder 2, a cylinder head 3 and a piston 4 with piston rod 5 on. In order to also be able to promote aggressive chemicals, it is advantageous if at least the top of the piston 4 and the cylinder head 3 are made of polytetrafluoroethylene. For this purpose, the piston 4 was designed in two parts, namely with a metal core 6 which carries an O-sealing ring 7 in a circumferential groove. A hood 9, which consists of the aforementioned plastic, is screwed onto a threaded extension 8 of the piston 4. The inner side of the side walls of this hood 9 rest against the O-ring, so that the piston resiliently seals the cylinder wall.
In the cylinder head 3 there are two ball valves 10 and 11 and above the cylinder head is the uppermost point of a hood-shaped clamping bracket 12 whose free ends (not shown) are pivotably mounted on both sides of the cylinder in bearing blocks fixed to the frame. If the bracket 12 is swiveled up into the position shown, a clamping screw 13 can be inserted with its shoulder into a recess in the cylinder head 3, so that the parts 1, 2 and 3 are pressed together in a sealing manner. The piston 4 is releasably attached to the piston rod 5. For this purpose, the piston rod 5 has a T-shaped pin 14 at the upper end, which can be inserted in a corresponding recess in the piston core 6 in the transverse direction.
The piston rod 5, designed as a tube, is guided so that it can be moved vertically on a guide column 15 fixed to the frame. At the lower end of the piston rod 5 there is a sliding block 16 which is guided in a sliding block 17 of a pivot lever 18. The pivot lever 18 is mounted pivotably about a bearing pin 19 in the bearing block 20. A two-armed rocker 21 is mounted about a pivot axis 22 in the bearing block 23.
A coupling 24 is pivotably articulated at one end to the pivot lever 18 and at the other end to the rocker 21. One arm of the rocker 21 is provided with a slot 25 so that the articulation axis 26 of the coupling 24 can be adjusted continuously in the slot 25 from the position shown in FIG. 1 up to coincidence with the pivot axis 22. This results in an adjustment range by the angle 27. The coupling 24 has an index mark 28 and a millimeter scale 29 is attached to the rocker. By means of the parts 28 and 29, an exact, reproducible setting of the coupling 24 within the slot 25 is now possible. A drive crank 31, which is driven around the axis of rotation 32 of a motor 33 in a constant direction of rotation, engages the other arm of the rocker 21 via a connecting rod 30.
In the illustrated setting of the coupling 24 in the slot 25, the articulation point 26 reaches the position according to 26 'and the pivot lever 18 in the position 18'. The largest stroke on the piston pump is achieved here. The more the articulation point 26 of the coupling 24 in the slot 25 of the pivot axis 22 is adjusted, the lower the stroke of the pump. If the articulation point 26 comes to coincide with the pivot axis 22, the coupling 24 is not moved when the rocker 21 swings back and forth, so that the pivot lever 18 and the piston rod 5 also remain at rest, so that the pump is not used, although the Motor 33 is switched on.
In the schematic representation according to FIG. 2, four cylinders 1 of four piston pumps stand next to one another in a metering device of a filling machine.
A pivot lever 18 and a rocker 21 are assigned to each piston rod 5. However, the four rockers 21 are attached to a common distributor rod 34.
The latter can be pivoted about the axis 22. For this drive, a two-armed lever 35 is non-rotatably connected to the distributor rod 34 and can also be pivoted about the axis 22. The lever 35 is driven by the motor 33 via the drive crank 31. From this Fig. 2 one can clearly see the advantages of the pump drive. Despite the common drive of all four rockers 21, each of the four pumps can be operated differently. Each pump can have a different piston travel between zero and the maximum. The articulation point 26 of each coupling 24 can be adjusted over the entire area of the slot 25 independently of the setting of the adjacent pump.
In the drive linkage for the pump according to FIG. 1 or according to FIG. 2, when the motor 33 is switched off, the crank 31 always goes into the extended position relative to the connecting rod 30 according to FIG. 1, so that the rocker 21 is always in the most in Clockwise pivoted position remains. In this position the piston 4 of each pump is in its upper position. If another medium is to be conveyed with the pump, the screw 13 is loosened, the bracket 12 folded over, the cylinder head 3 removed and the cylinder 1 now moved somewhat axially until it passes over the collar 36 of the cylinder base 2.
Now the cylinder 1 with the piston 4 located therein are moved radially to the piston rod 5 so that the piston 4 is separated from the piston rod 5 in the transverse direction and the cylinder 1 with the piston 4 located therein and the residual liquid on it are then removed upwards from the metering device can be. The emptied or cleaned cylinder can then be placed back on the frame 37 in the same way.
The pumps described are therefore stationary and no longer perform a pendulum movement. The crank 31 remains unchanged, so that the rocker 21 always pivots back and forth through the same angle of rotation. The crank 31 is advantageously driven by the motor 33 via a continuously variable transmission, not shown. The electric motor 33 is advantageously controlled in such a way that when the filling machine is switched off, the piston 4 always goes to top dead center, i. H. that a pump act that has started is always completed.
In this starting position shown in Fig. 1, the distance from the axis of rotation 22 to the articulation point 36 of the coupling 24 corresponds to the distance between the two articulation points 26 and 36 of the coupling, so that by opening a clamping screw 38 the coupling 24 can be moved into any desired piston stroke Position along the scale 29 can be brought. Such a pump control has the following advantages: When adjusting the pump stroke, the piston 4 always remains in the top dead center position. The scale 29 on the rocker arm 21 can be made much longer than the maximum achievable pump stroke, so that a very precise setting of a desired pump stroke and the easy reproducibility of this pump stroke can be achieved. It is also an advantage that the piston 4 always starts from the upper starting position even with small pump strokes.
In the case of a dosing device of a filling machine, the drive mechanism located below the cylinder 1 in FIG. 1 can be accommodated very well in a housing, so that there are no moving components above the frame 37 except for the piston guided in the cylinder.
