Zugschlaufe an armiertem Kabel

Pull loop on armored cable
To prevent cables from being laid in trenches, pipes, etc.
To be able to pull in, it is customary to provide a pull loop at the end of the cable to be pulled in. In the case of armored cables, these pull loops have hitherto been produced in such a way that the protruding ends of the armoring wires themselves are bent into a loop and the bent end parts are fixed by a wire wrapping. This production of the pull loop is done by hand and is accordingly time-consuming and expensive. Furthermore, the part of the loop provided with the wire wrapping has a somewhat larger cross-section than the cable, which makes it difficult to pull in the cable.
According to the invention, these disadvantages of the previously hand-made pull loops are to be avoided in that the ends of the reinforcement wires of the cable and a sleeve holding a wire rope loop are clamped in a compressed sleeve.
In this way a pull loop can be attached to the end of an armored cable in a much shorter time and therefore at a lower cost. The sleeve can have a smaller cross-section than the cable so that it does not interfere with the pulling in of the cable.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
The armored cable 1 is provided with a beam 2 at the end. The reinforcing wires 3 protrude from the end of the cable core and run over a conical wooden pin 4 into one end of a clamping sleeve 5 made of steel. A sleeve 6 is inserted into the other end of the clamping sleeve 5, in which a wire rope loop 7 is held by the fact that the sleeve, which was originally oval in shape to accommodate the two wire rope ends, has been pressed into a cylindrical shape. After inserting the ends of the reinforcing wires 3 and the sleeve 6, the clamping sleeve 5 is pressed together by a hydraulic pressing device at several points distributed over the circumference and length, indicated by arrows 8, so that both the reinforcing wires 3 and the sleeve 6 are securely clamped .
In order to get by with a few sleeve sizes for different cable types, the space between the reinforcing wires 3, if these do not fill the sleeve themselves, can be filled with plunger nails before the sleeve is pressed together.
