Process for coloring human hair
The usual hair dyes based on oxidative dyes require an oxidant, such as hydrogen peroxide or another active oxygen-giving substance, for the oxidative coupling to the dye, but do not pull directly onto the hair, not even through the mediation of molecular atmospheric oxygen, as it is in a mixture with nitrogen present.
Combinations of paradiamines with diaminophenols have been proposed, which are developed into dyes simply by the oxygen in the air, but the course of the reaction with these combinations is uncertain, strongly dependent on pH and it is usually not possible to dilute the concentrated solutions to obtain the same but lighter solution Coloring to arrive. Azo compounds have also been proposed, but they do not use any pyridine compounds as coupling components. Diaminopyridines, dihydroxypyridines, aminohydroxypyridines and their derivatives have also been proposed as hair dyes, but they usually only dye satisfactorily with the aid of an oxidizing agent and often only in conjunction with the known oxidizing dyes.
It has now been found that azo compounds of amino, diamino, polyamino, hydroxy, polyhydroxy, amino hydroxypyridines and their derivatives, such as alkylamino, oxalkylamino, alkoxy compounds, if they are used as coupling components with diazotized, aromatic sulfonic acids, the at least contain an amino group, reacts, to lead directly to the hair, without the help of an oxidizing agent, at room or body temperature, dyes on the hair. These pyridinazo dyes are characterized by their good solubility in water and provide particularly bright color effects.
The solutions can be neutral or alkaline and can be mixed with any wetting agent or detergent, with higher fatty alcohols, fats, vaseline, paraffin oil, wool fat and the like, as an emulsion (cream form) or with thickening agents such as ethyl cellulose, polymethacrylic acid salts, vegetable swelling agents such as tragacanth etc. , as a gel (jelly form).
As diazo compounds are diazotized orthanilic acid, metanilic acid, sulfanilic acid, p-amino diphenylaminosulfonic acid, p, p'-diaminodiphenylaminsullo acid, aminophenol sulfonic acids and their derivatives, such as the alkyl, alkylamino, oxalkylamino, alkoxy, halogen, nitro compounds in question.
The following pyridine compounds can be used as coupling components: aminopyridines, hydroxypyridines, 2,3-, 2,4-, 2,5-, 2,6-, 3,5-diaminopyridines, 2,3-, 2,6-dihydroxypyridines, Amino hydroxypyridines, to name just a few examples, and the derivatives of these compounds, such as. B. 2-amino-5-dimethylaminopyridine, 2-oxäthylamino-5aminopyridine, 5-nitro-2-aminopyridine, etc.
The corresponding pyrimidine compounds also lead to useful azo dyes.
The azopyridine dyes mentioned can be used either alone or together with the known oxidation dyes. In the latter case they then serve more as shading agents.
