Process for dyeing and printing textile material made of hydrophobic fibers in organic solvents ES has already been proposed to dye fibers containing amide groups, in particular nylon fibers, with fiber-reactive disperse dyes from an aqueous medium.
However, these procedures have not become naturalized in practice because they usually have to be carried out in two stages and do not result in particularly good authenticity. Surprisingly, it has now been found that these difficulties can be eliminated by working in organic solvents.
Although it has already been proposed in Swiss Patent No. 437 204 to dye leather with solutions of fiber-reactive dyes in organic solvents, the expert could not suspect that polyamides are in because of the large differences in the structure of leather and synthetic polyamide fibers organic solution would be colored satisfactorily with water-insoluble fiber-reactive dyes.
The Swiss Patent No. 363 634 and the Swiss Auslegeschriften Nos. 17024/65, 102/66 and 3375/66 describe processes for dyeing semi- and fully synthetic fibers in organic solvents, but the use of fiber-reactive dyes is not mentioned or suggested placed. Compared to the method described there, the present method gives much more authentic colorations.
The present invention is therefore a process for dyeing textile material based on hydrophobic fibers or filaments containing polar groups and ready to be woven, in particular fibers or filaments containing nitrogen atoms or ester groups, which is characterized in that
that the textile material is dyed or printed with a solution of at least one water-insoluble fiber-reactive disperse dye in a solvent or solvent mixture which remains largely inert to the textile material even at Färbetempera ture.
The term fiber-reactive dye is used in the usual sense and refers to a dye that is z. B. connects with acylatable groups present in the fiber to form a covalent chemical bond.
The present dyeing process is suitable for all synthetic fiber types that contain nitrogen atoms and / or ester groups. As nitrogen-containing fibers z.
B. called: synthetic polyamides, especially poly (hexamethylene adipimamide) or nylon 66, poly () - caprolactam) or nylon 6, poly (hexaniethylenesebacic acid amide) or nylon 610 and poly (11-amino-undecanic acid ) or nylon 11, acrylic or acrylonitrile fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers and mixed polymers made of acrylonitrile and other vinyl compounds,
such as acrylic esters, acrylamides, vinyl pyride, vinyl chloride or vinylidene chloride, copolymers of dicyanethylene and vinyl acetate and of acrylonitrile block copolymers, fibers made of polyurethanes and finally base-modified polypropylene fibers.
The fibers containing ester groups include cellulose tri- and -21 / z-acetate fibers and fibers made from aromatic polyesters, such as those made from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol or 1,4-dimethylolcyclohexane, and copolymers made from terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid and ethylene glycol.
If the nitrogen-containing fibers contain free amino groups, they are capable of forming chemical bonds with the reactive fiber dyes used according to the invention. If they do not contain any reactive amino groups, the dye is distributed in the fiber as in the usual dyeing processes with disperse dyes.
The dyes that can be used according to the invention are water-insoluble, fiber-reactive disperse dyes, such as mono-, dis- and polyazo dyes, anthraquinone, perinone, quinophthalone, oxazine, nitroso, nitro, phthalocyanine, stilbene and methine dyes, including the styryl, azamethine,
Polymethine and azostyril dyes; soluble metal complex dyes of the azo and formazan dye types are also suitable.
However, other suitable fiber-reactive dye types can also be used.
The water-insoluble dyes which can be used according to the invention contain at least one fiber-reactive group in the molecule, such as s-triazinyl radicals which carry 1 or 2 chlorine or bromine atoms on the triazine ring, pyrimidyl radicals which have one or two chlorine atoms or
carry one or two arylsulfonyl or alkanesulfonyl groups on the pyrimidine ring, mono- or bis- (γ-halogen- / 3-hydroxyproyl) -amino groups, / 3-halogenoethylncapto groups, @ -halogen-i3-hydroxypropylsulfamyl radicals, chlorine- acetylamino groups, vinylsulfonyl groups, 2,3-epoxypropyl groups, or others,
fiber-reactive residues free of water-solubilizing groups.
Suitable representatives of the fiber-reactive disperse dyes are z. The dyeing of filament fabric is a particularly preferred application of the method according to the invention.
As organic solvents, which must be largely inert towards the fibers or filaments even at the dyeing temperature, that is, they must not dissolve, such as:
B. the hydrophobic solvents which are immiscible or only partially miscible with water, such as acetophenone, cyclohexanol, benzyl alcohol, esters such as ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate, hydrocarbons such as benzene, xylene or toluene, and halogenated hydrocarbons,
such as carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, methylene chloride, trichlorethylene, perchlorethylene, trichloroethane, tetrachloroethane, dibromethylene or chlorobenzene called.
Water-miscible, hydrophilic solvents form a particularly preferred class of solvents, such as aliphatic alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, ketones such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, cyclohexanone, ethers and acetates such as diisopropyl ether, Diphenylene oxide, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran,
Glycerin formal and glycol formal, such as acetonitrile and pyridine, diacetone alcohol, also higher-boiling glycol derivatives such as ethylene glycol monomethyl, ethyl and butyte ethers and diethylene glycol monomethyl or ethyl ether, thiodiglycol,
Polyethylene glycols, insofar as they are liquid at room temperature, ethylene carbonate, γ-butyrolactone and especially the group of active solvents which boil above 120 C and are miscible with water, such as N, N-dimethylformamide, N, N - dimethylacetamide, bis - (dimethylamino) methane phosphate, tris (dimethylamido) phosph,
at, N methylpyrrolidone, 1,5 - dimethylpyrroccdone, N, N - dimethyl-methoxyacetamide, N, N, N ', N'-tetramethyl'h @ arn- material, tetramethylene sulfone (sulfolane) and 3-methyl-fulfolane and l:) imethyl sulfoxide.
Among the hydrophilic solvents which can be used according to the invention there are three preferred subgroups, namely 1. those which are used to dissolve linear, spinnable fully synthetic polymers or polycondens, such as e.g. Acryl'nitrilpölyme.ri, saten, are suitable, 2. the group of solvents which are miscible with water in any ratio and 3. the group of solvents free of hydroxyl groups.
Mixtures of chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbons with up to 50% of a hydrophilic solvent, in particular an amide of a low molecular weight fatty acid such as dimethylacetamide or dimethylformamide, are particularly preferred.
The present process is preferably carried out without the addition of dispersants. The advantage of this is that the dyed textile material is easier to clean. Optionally, however, surfactants can also be added to the dyeing or padding liquor.
Important representatives of such surfactants belong in particular to the following night ionic compound types: a) Ethers of polyhydroxy compounds, such as polyoxyalkylated fatty alcohols, polyoxyalkylated polyols, polyoxyalkylated mercaptans and aliphatic amines,
polyoxyalkylated alkylphenols and naphrohols, polyoxyalkylated alkylaryl mercaptans and alkylarylamines., b) fatty acid esters of ethylene and polyethylenes, glycols and propylene and butylene glycols, glycerol or
of polyglycerols and penitenthritol as well as sugar alcohols such as sorbitol, sorbitans and sucrose.
c) N-hydroxyalkyl-carbonamides, polyoxyalkylated carbonamides and sulfonamides.
For example, surfactants from these groups which can be used advantageously may be mentioned: addition products of 8 mol of ethylene oxide with 1 mol of p-tert.-octylphenol, of 15 or
6 mol of ethylene oxide on castor oil, of 20 mol of ethylene oxide on the alcohol C, eH330H, ethylene oxide @ addition products with di- [a-phenylethylphenols, polyethylene oxide-tert-dodecylthioether, polyamine polyglycol ethers or addition products of 15 resp. 30 mol of ethylene oxide on 1 mol of amine C, 2H2rNH:
- or C, eH37NH2.
In continuous exhaust dyeing, the textile material to be dyed can be in the form of loose material, fleece, yarn or as a knitted fabric or woven fabric. It is applied in loose form or in a form applied to mechanical devices in a stationary bath, in particular in suitable eggers, reel runners,
Cross-bobbin dyeing machines or similar dyeing machines dyed depending on the nature of the goods to be dyed.
The dyeing can take place in dyeing apparatus or vessels that are in contact with the outside atmosphere (if necessary through a reflux condenser) or in closed vessels, such as pressure vessels, with or without pressure.
After the desired depth of color has been achieved, the dyed goods are removed from the dye bath and treated with either steam or a stream of hot air to remove any remaining solvent.
However, the present dyeing process is preferably carried out continuously, the textile material mainly being woven fabrics or also knitted fabrics suitable for this purpose or carpets of all types. Here, the textile material is impregnated or printed, in particular padded, and the textile material is then subjected to a heat treatment, preferably a dry heat treatment at a temperature below the softening point of the fiber material, to fix the dye on the fiber.
The impregnation in the padder takes place either at room temperature or in the warmth. After the implementation through the dye solution, the textile material is squeezed to the desired content of impregnation solution of about 50 to 130% of the dry fiber weight.
The impregnated or printed material is after leaving the padder or the printing machine, if necessary, either briefly in the warm, z. B. to 30 to 90 C heated air stream or dried in another way, such. B. by centrifugation, freed from the larger part of the adhering dye solution, or it is telquel subjected to fixation or heat setting. It takes place at over 100 C, preferably at a temperature of at least 170 to 240 C.
In any case, the temperature during fixation must not reach the softening temperature of the fiber.
The heat setting takes place z. B. by steaming in saturated or unsaturated steam or preferably by dry heat treatment, such as con tact heat, treatment with high-frequency alternating currents or irradiation with infrared.
The optimal heat setting conditions, which exclude fiber damage, are determined by a simple preliminary test.
Furthermore, you can also carry out the fixation according to the so-called cold piling process, the padded and squeezed tissue rolled up without drying, optionally packed in a plastic film and kept at room temperature for a longer time, for. B. 24 hours, is stored and the tissue is then unpacked and freed from the solvent by drying.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, parts are parts by weight, percentages are percentages by weight, and temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
