Inflator for tires The present invention relates to a fun inflator for tires making it possible to ensure an identical air pressure in the tires, for example those of the two front wheels or of the rear wheels of a self-propelled vehicle, in one. simultaneous inflation operation.
The inflator according to the invention comprises two air supply tubes # s designed, each, to to be connected to the valve & one of the two pneumafiques to gon fler and connected to a: source of compressed air by a single pipe.
The inflator is characterized in that said single pipe is connected to the two akduction tubes by means of two separate chambers each having an air inlet port and an air outlet duct. , an air intake valve being mounted at the intersection of said pipe and air intake ports in the two chambers, the air intake tubes to the tires being connected each on the air outlet duct of one of the two chambers, the latter having, on the other hand,
each an orifice in which engages the rod of a piston whose head penetrates into the chamber, the end of said rod projecting outwardly when the head of the piston is subjected to a air pressure from the tire connected to the corresponding chamber, which makes it possible to check before inflation that the valve of each of the to inflatable tires is fully open.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is an overview in elevation. Fig. 2 is a partial view thereof with a partial cut away. Fig. 3 is a partial sectional view along III-III of FIG. 2. The inflator shown in the drawing comprises two air supply tubes 1 and 2 each fitted with a nozzle 3 allowing them to be connected to the valve of a tire of a group of two tires to inflate simultaneously.
The tubes 1 and 2 are connected to an air supply pipe 4 via two separate chambers 5 and 6, an air inlet valve 7 being mounted at their intersection with the single pipe supplied from air 4. A piston provided with a return spring 8 and whose rod 9 projects to the outside when its head 10 is subjected to an air pressure coming from one of the two tires matiques is mounted in each of the chambers 5 and 6 and makes it possible to check, before inflation, that the valve of the corresponding tire is indeed or green and in communication with said chamber.
Simultaneous inflation of the two tires is carried out by manually actuating the control lever of the air intake valve 7 and a pressure gauge 12 mounted in bypass allows the air pressure of the tires to be checked as well. swollen.
