B. in Aceton.

Process for the preparation of reactive dyes The present invention provides a process for the preparation of reactive dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0003
where n is the number 1, 2 or 3 and A is the remainder of a compound which contains at least one substituent which can be easily split off as an anion or a C-C multiple bond capable of addition, or a halotriazinyl or halopyrimidyl radical,
the core B can be further substituted and -OH is in the ortho position to -N = N-.
The process according to the invention for the preparation of the new reactive dyes consists in that the amino group of an aminoazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0016
where n denotes the number 1, 2 and 3, the core B can be further substituted and -OH is in the ortho position to -N = N-, with an acylating agent which also has at least one substituent that can easily be split off as an anion or one easily contains CC multiple bonds capable of addition,
acylated or reacted with a polyhalotriazine or polyhalopyrimidine.
The aminoazo dye of the formula (II) used as the starting material can be obtained by coupling the tetrazo compound from 1 mol of 4,4'-diamino-5,5'-dimethyl-1,1'-diphenyl-2,2'-disulfonic acid with 1 Mole of a hydroxynaphthalene mono-, coupling ortho to the hydroxyl group,
di- or trisulfonic acid and on the other hand with 1 mol of an optionally substituted aminobenzene coupling in the para position to the amino group.
Examples of the hydroxynaphthalene mono-, di- or trisulfonic acids that may be mentioned are: 1-hydroxynaphthalene-4- or -5-sulfonic acid, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-4-, -6-, -7- or -8 -sulfonic acid, 1-hydroxynaphthalene, 3,6-, -4,6-, -4,7- or -4,8-disulfonic acid, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6- and -6,8-disulfonic acid,
1-hydroxy- and 2-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6,8-trisulfonic acid and mixtures thereof. Important aminobenzenes are z. B. the following: aminobenzene, 1-amino-2- or -3-methylbenzene, 1-amino-3-acetylaminobenzene, 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxybenzene, 1-amino-2-methyl-5-methoxybenzene, 1-amino-3-propionyl or
-butyrylaminobenzene, 1,3-diaminobenzene, 1-amino-2,5-dimethylbenzene and 1-amino-2,3-tetramethylene benzene.
The substituent A is preferably the radical of at least one mobile halogen atom and / or an additive C-C multiple bond containing border acid, such as. B. chloroacetic acid, bromoacetic acid, ß-chloro and ß-bromopropionic acid, propiolic acid, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, a-chloro, ss-chloro, a-bromo and ss-bromoacrylic acid-a, ss- and ss,

Dichloro and dibromofumaric acid, fumaric acid monoester, dichloro and dibromosuccinic acid, or the remainder of one of the heterocyclic compounds listed below:
Cyanuric chloride, cyanuric bromide, primary condensation products of the cyanuric chloride of the composition
EMI0002.0053
where y is the optionally further substituted radical of a primary or secondary aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic amine, an aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic hydroxy or thiol compound,
but in particular denotes the remainder of aniline, its alkyl and sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid derivatives, of lower mono- and dialkylamines and the remainder of ammonia, also 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine and 2,4,6-tribromopyridine and their derivatives which have, for example, the following substituents in the 5-position:
Methyl, ethyl, optionally substituted on the nitrogen atom, carboxylic acid or sulfonic acid amide, carboxylic acid methyl or ethyl ester, acyl, e.g. Benzoyl, alkylene, e.g. B. allyl, chlorovinyl, substituted alkyl, e.g. B.
Carboxymethyl, chloro- or bromomethyl and a methylene group between two pyrimidine nuclei, 2,4,5,6-tetrachloro- or -tetrabromopyrimidine, 2,6-dichloro- or -dibromopyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester, 2,4,5-trichloropyrimidine which are optionally substituted on the nitrogen atom
5-carboxamide or sulfonic acid amide derivatives of 2,6-dichloro- or -dibromopyrimidine, 2,5,6-trichloro-4-methylpyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro-5-chloromethyl-6-methylpyrimidine, 2,4-dichloro -5-chloromethylpyrimidine and 2,6-dichloro-4-trichloromethylpyrimidine. The easiest way to introduce the acid residues is usually through the use of the acid halides concerned, and in some cases also the acid anhydrides. It is preferred to work at low temperatures, e.g.
B. at 0 to 20 "C, and in the presence of acid-binding agents such as sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide or sodium acetate in a weakly acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline reaction, for example in the pH range 4 to 9. For acylation, for.
B. the carboxylic acid chlorides as such or in twice to five times the amount of benzene, chlorobenzene, methylbenzene, dimethylbenzene or acetone dissolved in the aqueous, well-buffered solution of the amino group carry the body dripped, z. B. at a temperature of 2-5 "C. The acylation can also be carried out with the anhydrides in the same way. The introduction of a cyanuric residue is best carried out in an aqueous medium at about 0" C.
B. made at pH values between 3 and 5. For example, the cyanuric halide is used as such in solid form or dissolved in an organic solvent, e.g. B. in acetone. For the primary condensation products of a cyanuric halide, it is best to choose a temperature of 30 to 60 ° C. and a pH of 4 to 6, while temperatures between 40 and 100 ° C. are most suitable for the di-, tri- and tetrahalopyrimidines.
After the condensation or coupling has ended, the finished reactive dye can be salted out with sodium or potassium chloride from its optionally previously neutralized solution or suspension or precipitated with acid, then filtered off with suction, washed and dried.
The reactive dyes according to the invention are suitable, depending on their composition, for dyeing, padding and printing fibers of animal origin, e.g. B. wool, silk, synthetic polyamide fibers, z. B. nylon, leather, cellulose fibers, e.g. B. cotton, linen and fibers from regenerated cellulose, z. B. viscose rayon, copper rayon, rayon, and mixtures and / or structures made of these fibers. The optimal application conditions differ depending on the type of fiber and the dyes used.
Animal fibers and synthetic polyamide fibers will preferably be dyed and printed or fixed in an acidic, neutral or weakly alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of acetic acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate, Na trium metaphosphate, etc. You can also in the presence of leveling agents such. B. polyoxyethylated fatty amines or mixtures of the same with alkyl polyglycol ethers, color acetic acid to neutral and at the end of the coloration the bath by adding small amounts of an alkaline agent, eg. B.
Ammonia, sodium bicarbonate, soda, etc., or compounds which react alkaline in the heat, z. B. hexamethylenetetramine, urea, to a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction from blunt. This is followed by thorough rinsing and, if necessary, acidified with a little acetic acid.
The dyeing, padding and printing or fixing of the dyes on cellulose fibers is advantageously carried out in an alkaline medium, e.g. B. in the presence of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, sodium metasilicate, sodium borate, trisodium phosphate, ammonia, etc.
To avoid reduction phenomena, mild oxidizing agents such as sodium 1-nitrobenzene-3-sulfonic acid are often advantageously added when dyeing, padding or printing the fibers. In the case of cellulose fibers, too, the dyes are usually fixed in the heat. Some of the dyes can ments depending on the reactivity of the reactive groupings even at low temperatures, eg. B. 20-40 C, colored or fixed.
The dyeings and prints on cellulose fibers are particularly notable for their excellent wet fastness properties. These are based on the formation of a stable chemical bond between the dye molecule and the cellulose molecule. Often not all of the dye takes part in the chemical reaction with the fiber. The proportion of the unreacted dye is removed from the fiber in these cases by suitable operations such as rinsing and / or soaps, if necessary using higher temperatures, synthetic detergents such as. B.
Alkylarylsulfonates, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl polyglycol ether sulfate and mono- and dialkyl phenyl polyglycol ethers are used. The dyeings on wool have excellent light, perspiration, washing, seawater and milled fastness as well as dry cleaning fastness and, in some cases, good leveling properties.
In the examples below, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
<I> Example 1 </I> 18.6 parts of 4,4'-diamino-5,5'-dimethyl-1,1'-diphenyl-2,2'-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 50 parts of water with the addition of approximately 13.6 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution dissolved. After the addition of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite, this solution is allowed to run at 0-15 parts into a solution of 27 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid in 200 parts of water.
A solution of 12.3 parts of 1-hydroxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid in 70 parts of water is added to the tetrazo compound. After the addition of 100 parts of finely crushed ice, a solution of 14.8 parts of crystallized sodium acetate in 15 parts of water is added dropwise over the course of 3 hours. The coupling compound is stirred overnight at 0 and the next morning it is made weakly alkaline by adding sodium carbonate.
After some stirring, the suspension is adjusted to a pH of 5 by adding dilute acetic acid and ver it is mixed with 4.8 parts of 1-amino-3-methylbenzene. After stirring for about 10 hours, the solution is made slightly alkaline with sodium hydroxide solution and the solution is treated with a mixture of 3 parts of blood charcoal and 3 parts of kieselguhr. After filtering off the amino disazo dye is deposited by acidifying with 30 a / o hydrochloric acid and filtered off.
The filter residue is dissolved in 250 parts of water at 60 and the pH of the solution is adjusted to 4 to 5. After the addition of 9.2 parts of 2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine, the mass is stirred for 4 hours at 60-65. Dilute sodium carbonate solution is added dropwise to ensure that the pH value remains between 4 and 5. After the reaction has ended, the solution is treated with charcoal.
After clarification by filtration, the dye is precipitated by adding sodium chloride, filtered off with suction, the presscake is washed with sodium chloride solution and dried. The ground dye is a red powder that dissolves in water with a yellow-red color.
<I> Printing specification </I> A mercerized cotton fabric is printed with a printing paste of the following composition:
EMI0003.0083
30 <SEP> parts <SEP> of the <SEP> above <SEP> dye,
<tb> 100 <SEP> parts <SEP> urea,
<tb> 385 <SEP> parts of <SEP> water,
<tb> 450 <SEP> parts <SEP> 4 <SEP> o / oige <SEP> sodium alginate thickening,
<tb> 10 <SEP> parts <SEP> 1-nitrobenzene-3-sulfonic acid <SEP> sodium,
<tb> 25 <SEP> parts <SEP> sodium carbonate.
<tb> 1000 <SEP> parts The print is dried and fixed by steaming for 10 minutes.
It is then rinsed in the usual way with cold and then with hot water, optionally soaped at the boil and again rinsed hot and cold. After drying, a brilliant scarlet-colored print is obtained which has excellent waterfastness and good lightfastness. If, in the above example, instead of 4.8 parts of 1-amino-3-methylbenzene, the corresponding amount of one of the other aminobenzenes mentioned on page 3 is used and the rest of the procedure is the same, scarlet dyes with very similar properties are obtained .
<I> Example 2 </I> 76.8 parts of the disazo dye which is obtained by tetrazotizing 1 mol of 4,4'-diamino-5,5'-dimethyl-1,1'-diphenyl-2,2'-disulfonic acid and subsequent coupling with 1 mole of 1-hydroxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 1 mole of 1-acetylarnino-3-aminobenzene he holds are dissolved in 2500 parts of water.
This solution is cooled to 0-5 and acylated with stirring by gradually adding 11.3 parts of chloroacetyl chloride. At the same time, the pH of the solution is kept between 5 and 7 by sprinkling with sodium bicarbonate. When the addition of the chloroacetyl chloride is complete, the mixture is stirred for a further 1-2 hours at the same temperature and, if the reaction has not yet ended, a little more chloroacetyl chloride is added.
As soon as free amino groups can no longer be detected, the mixture is neutralized with sodium carbonate solution and the new dye formed is salted out with sodium chloride, isolated and dried at low temperature. A red powder is obtained which dissolves in water with a clear red color and, from an acetic acid bath, to which a wetting agent is optionally added, gives a bright scarlet color of excellent levelness and very good lightfastness and excellent wet fastness properties on wool.
If, in the above example, 12.6 parts of β-chloropropionyl chloride or 15.6 parts of phenyl chloroformate or 9 parts of acrylic acid chloride or 13.2 parts of monochloromaleic anhydride are used instead of 11.3 parts of chloroacetyl chloride, dyes are also obtained very similar properties.
<I> Example 3 </I> 72.6 parts of the disazo dye, which is obtained by tetrazotizing 1 mol of 4,4'-diamino-5,5'-dimethyl- <B> 65 </B> 1,1'- Diphenyl-2,2'-disulfonic acid and subsequent coupling with 1 mole of 1-hydroxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 1 mole of 1,3-diaminobenzene are added to a 20-40 "mixture of 80 parts of chloroacetic acid,
50 parts of sulfuric acid monohydrate 70 and 20 parts of oleum 65 0lo ig gradually added in portions so that the temperature does not exceed 40. At the same time, 80 parts of 65% oleum are allowed to slowly flow in. The mixture is then allowed to stir for 12 to 15 hours at room temperature. On the next morning no free amino group can be detected.
The flask is poured and a half on ice and the precipitated dye is filtered off, it is then stirred in 2000 parts of cold water and made neutral with 20% sodium carbonate solution, 8o salted out, the sodium salt of the dye formed is filtered off and dried at low temperature in the Vacuum.
A red powder is obtained which dissolves in water with a scarlet red color and, on wool and polyamide fibers, if necessary with the addition of a wetting agent, gives very lightfast and wetfast shades of very good levelness.
