Fig. 2 zeigt eine ähnliche Ausführungsform.
Machine element for sealing The invention relates to a machine element for sealing the parting line of screwed together pieces of a container or pipeline and is characterized in that the machine element consists of a sealing body placed in the parting line, and that the sealing surfaces with a relative to this body plastically or elastically easily deformable you are coated processing compound.
The sealing surface, viewed in the sealing direction, can be divided by at least one control groove which, connected to at least one outwardly leading control hole, keeps the tightness of the seal under control.
The invention achieves that the up tend surface of the piece on the one hand not in unge wanted deformations, for. B. as a result of pressure or temperature stress of the same, in larger area parts can leak and that on the other hand, smaller leaks can not remain undetected. This is particularly important when the container or the pipeline contains a means, e.g. B. contain hydrogen, which can form explosive mixtures with the atmospheric air, or if they contain unhealthy agents, e.g.
B. contain CO or radioactively contaminated liquids or gases, or if they contain agents that are particularly expensive.
The sealing body can be made of metal. The sealant can consist of an applied soft metal.
The soft metal can be applied by electroplating.
It can be made of pure silver.
The control groove, which, as mentioned above, divides the sealing surface in the sealing direction, can be connected to at least two control bores arranged at a distance from one another on the circumference of the seal and a circuit can be connected to these control bores, which by means of a pump the respective contents of the Flushes the control through a measuring instrument which keeps the quality of this content under control.
The invention is to be explained in more detail on the basis of exemplary embodiments which are shown schematically in FIGS. 1 to 5 of the drawing: FIG. 1 shows two container pieces whose flange 1 and 2 are pulled together by means of screws 3 . On the inside of the flanges there is a groove 4 in each of which a sealing body 5 is inserted.
The sealing surfaces of this sealing body are covered with a galvanically applied sealing compound 6 ; in the present case it is a matter of cleansing. A circular groove 7 is screwed into the sealing surface, which grooves are connected to one another through the bore 8 . A leak detector can be connected to the threaded hole 9 which cuts the hole 8 .
Fig. 2 shows a similar embodiment. The sealing body 5 is only centered here by an inner collar 10 . In contrast to FIG. 1, however, it has two central grooves in each sealing surface, one of which, for example, is accessible via the bore 12 in the flange.
If, as shown in FIG. 2, there are two control grooves, the space of the first groove can be evacuated and that of the second can be pressurized. By checking the course of the pressures over time in the two rooms, one gains a picture of the tightness of all three sealing surfaces. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, after testing the tightness of the two outer sealing surfaces by welding the lips 13 and 14 together, additional protection against leakage of the seal was created .
The threaded hole that connects the outer control groove with the space between the sealing body and the welding lips 13 and 14 is closed by a threaded bolt 15 . Of course, the outer control groove could also be made accessible via a drill line in the flange, analogous to the bore 12, so that the threaded hole 15 could be bypassed.
Fig. 3 shows the case where the control grooves are screwed into the flanges instead of in the sealing body 5.
Fig. 4 shows on a larger scale that the rigid base body is advantageously shaped so that in the tightened state, the plastic sealing compound, which partially flows away, has the same thickness over the entire sealing surface. In this way, it is avoided that the rigid base body is pressed into the material of the flanges.
In order to determine the contour 20 of the rigid base body, one must therefore know the deformation that occurs when the flanges are tightened. Fig. 4 also shows that the control grooves can also be made individually accessible, which facilitates the localization of leaks. In the same sense, the grooves can also be interrupted in the circumferential direction.
Finally, FIG. 5 shows how the grooves can be continuously flushed with the aid of a medium when a leak testing device is connected.
The invention is neither bound to these exemplary embodiments nor to their application to a specific field of technology,
