Device for the preparation of ice cream The present invention is a device serving for the preparation of ice cream, with a container serving to hold the pulp to be processed, a motor-driven agitator and screw conveyor device, which drives the pulp from this container is supplied, and a cooling unit which has a compressor driven by its own motor and is used to cool the pulp supplied to said screw device.
The device is characterized according to the invention in that in the circuit of the drive motor of the screw dependent on the power of this motor, the circuit of the cooling unit motor are provided, which each depending on the cold state dependent Kon - The degree of consistency of the pulp, on which the performance of the screw motor depends, ensure that the circuit of the cooling unit motor is opened or closed.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the inventive device is illustrated in a single figure, with certain parts of the same are drawn in section, while only a scheme of other parts of the same is shown.
The device according to the drawing serving for the preparation of ice cream has a container 1 serving to receive the pulp to be processed and a stirring and screw conveyor device 2, the housing of which is connected to its front end by an intermediate line B> 3 is connected to the container 1 , through which the pulp is fed to the screw device for processing and cooling.
The container 1 is arranged with respect to the screw device 2 so that even at the maximum level of the pulp mass in this container 1 there is still a free air space above the same in the housing of the screw device 2 is present, as indicated in the drawing by arrows. This is important insofar as the pulp mass processed in the screw device 2 becomes more foamy as a result than if there were no air in the housing for mixing. The screw device 2 has a screw shaft 4 provided with perforated screw wing parts 4a. The screw housing is provided at the top with a ventilation connection 5 .
The worm shaft 4 is driven by a drive motor 6 continuously in the sense of the arrow drawn. As a result, the pulp is stirred and kneaded and at the same time conveyed to a removal device which is seen at the rear end of the screw housing and which is not shown in detail here.
The device also includes, as usual, a cooling unit that has a compressor 7 with its own drive motor 8 a condenser 9 and an evaporator 10 . This evaporator fer, which, like the other parts of the cooling unit, is only indicated very schematically, actually consists of cooling coils that are appropriately assigned to the screw device in order to cool the pulp supplied to the same on the occasion of the processing of the same.
In the circuit of the worm drive motor 6 there are two control elements 11 and 12 which are connected in parallel and each have a bimetallic element. These two control elements are each assigned a switch 13 or 14, which are connected in parallel to one another in the circuit of the control coil 15 of a contactor 16 / B>, which in turn lies in the circuit of the drive motor 8 and is held in the closed position under the action of a tension spring 17 . 18 a manually operated changeover switch by means of which one or the other control element 11 or 12 can be switched into the circuit of the motor 6.
The control organs 11 and 12 have the task of closing the switches 13 or 14 assigned to them when the current flowing through them exceeds a certain value and that Bimetal element because it bends out in a corresponding mass. The bimetallic element of one of the two control elements 11 and 12 is made adjustable by means of a regulating screw, not shown here, in order to achieve that the bimetallic element of one control element bends out at a smaller current than that of the other control body.
In the side walls of the container 1 a whisk 20 is rotatably mounted, which is driven by a motor (not shown here) in order to exert a foaming effect on the pulp and thereby increase the volume of the same. A curved guard plate 21 is provided above this whisk 20, which catches the splashing pulp.
The mode of operation of the device described above is as follows: Assume that the two motors 6 and 8 are in operation in the position shown for the electrical device. The screw shaft 4 rotates in the direction of the arrow and processes the pulp to be flowing out of the container 1 of the screw device 2. As a result of the stirring and kneading action of the screw on the one hand and the cooling of the pulp by the cooling unit on the other hand, the consistency of the pulp increases, which gradually opposes the screw with a resistance.
This causes an increase in the power of the motor 6, which means that the current flowing through the bimetal element of the control element 12 increases to a corresponding extent until this bimetal element flexes at a certain current value and the switch 13 closes, which means that the contactor 16 is opened.
This in turn has the consequence that the cooling unit regat motor 8 is put out of operation, the further cooling of the still guided and kneaded pulp in the screw device stops and the degree of consistency of this mass becomes smaller again. It is thus understood that the degree of consistency, thanks to the control element 12, can be kept at a desired value, which depends on the dimensioning of the bimetal element of this control element 12.
By switching the control elements 11 and 12 by means of the switch 18, ice cream with a lower consistency and ice cream with a higher degree of consistency can be produced.
